“Brighton Walsh delivers hot, captivating romance.” ~ Jaci Burton, New York Times Bestselling AuthorHe was the resident bad boy. She’s small town royalty. Their love was doomed from the start.Finn spent his childhood living so far on the wrong side of the tracks, he couldn’t even see them through his trailer window. When he moves back to his small, southern hometown to open the first bar in a … southern hometown to open the first bar in a formerly dry county, he’s no longer the boy who left—he’s a man with something to prove. As long as he doesn’t allow himself to get sidetracked by the only girl he’s ever loved.
Willow learned a long time ago to protect her heart at all costs, so her walls are firmly in place when her ex comes strolling back into town, all cockiness and charm. When they’re thrown together on the job, she knows better than to give in to the tug of attraction that still simmers between them. She might be drawn to him, but she certainly doesn’t trust him. It’s time for her to prove she’s not the brokenhearted girl he left behind.
There’s no room for second chances in Havenbrook. And Willow’s daddy—the mayor—will do anything to keep it that way.

It’s not too often I feel like I can recommend a book set in Mississippi that’s written by somebody who isn’t from here. Too often, that means stereotypes and portrayals that are unflattering at best and just plain wrong at worst. But Brighton Walsh ‘s Second Chance Charmer was an absolutely delightful surprise. Sweet, funny, authentically southern, this second chance romance is hot enough to scorch the paint right off the walls of the old soda fountain the hero is turning into a bar. Two thumbs up!
Willow works for the Mayor who happens to be her father. Ten years ago she thought she was in love with the bad boy of the town, until he upped and left without a word. Finn is back to help one of his childhood friends to open a business. He knows he hurt Willow but wants another chance with her. He’s loved her everyday since he’s been gone and will do anything to get her back.
I loved this story. Sex, secrets, and a little humor. Family that is always butting in and a second chance at love.

My good friend Brighton Walsh just released Second Chance Charmer. It is a super sweet (and steamy!) second chance love story that I absolutely loved. Highly recommend this book <3
This is a perfect dive into small town Southern life, with a swoony, second chance at love and super duper hot sex. You will be cheering for Willow and Finn from the moment they both hit the page. Their chemistry is explosive. I highly recommend!
“I want you to know what you’re signing up for. This is it. Me by your side for the rest of my life.”
I’m becoming a real fan of the small-town trope. Maybe it speaks to me a bit more because I grew up in one, with all the advantages and definitely ALL the downsides of it.
This was my first Brighton Walsh book. I had it in my Kindle for a while, and it won’t be my last. I loved how her writing style flowed, and how sweet and sort of steamy it got. Plus, I also want to see what happens to the other characters introduced in this story.
“And then he’d pulled her into his orbit, and her sadness had lifted because for the first time in her entire life, someone had seen her for exactly who she was. ”
I love Finn. There’s a certain satisfaction in seeing the hero from the wrong side of town growing up and making something of himself. And then shoving that in the faces of the people who can’t see past your social status. Plus, he’s a great guy, with a great heart, who doesn’t give up once he has his sights on what he wants, i.e., Willow back in his life. And… yeah, he’s hot, and has some seriously sexy skills.
“And besides being stunning as hell, she was smart. Funny. Kind. Generous. She was everything any sane man would want by his side.”
I tried my hardest to connect to Willow, but it wasn’t an easy task. I wish she would stand up for herself when it comes to her father. She’s a grown woman, she doesn’t need his approval for anything, and she shouldn’t expect his compliments either. My heart broke for her, for being left behind, though, so she kind of grew on me at the end.
“He didn’t know whether to fall to her feet and hug her or hoot to the heavens. Because try as she might, she hadn’t forgotten about them.”
Ten years before, Willow and Finn were sweethearts. The bad boy that is all wrong for one of the town’s princesses, and Mayor’s daughter. But they didn’t let that stop them, and they had a wonderful love story, until he up and left her. No explanation, no reason, no contact. Just like that.
He moved to California with his mother and his twin brother, while she stayed behind in their small town. But now he’s back, and there are so many questions left unanswered. The biggest one of them being – how will they resist the pull of their shared past?
“I’ve thought about that kiss every damn second since it happened. Played it out a hundred different ways, and they all end the same, Willowtree. With me inside you.”
Finn was a dream. OK, he left, but we know why. When their past is mentioned, it really is a love story you’d wish was yours. Their tree house, their secret spot, their tattoos… I loved all of it. And it’s heartbreaking when you find out the truth of what happened, and that they could’ve been together all this time.
Anyway, they may have moved past what they had (maybe), but they never forgot each other. And this is the second chance they both deserved.
I loved Finn’s twin brother Drew, and how he sets him straight. I loved Willow’s sisters, mother, and especially her grandmother. I hated her dad, of course, because I can’t stand snobbish people. In books or real life.
“And she did know. Knew it was the same for him as it was for her. Knew it’d take a force of nature to tear them apart again.”
This is a sweet, heartwarming read. It will definitely charm you, and make you wish Havenbrook was your town. Can’t wait to get to the next ones!
This is a really great second chance romance, set in an idilic small town with lots of great characters. The story has lots of twists and turns and will make you laugh and possibly cry a little. The chemistry between Willow and Finn is enough to start a forest fire. I look forward to finding out more about Rory and Nash, and the other sisters and friends.
I really enjoyed the story, not totally predictable…it was a good light and easy read. Characters had interesting backgrounds and history. Would recommend
Loved this book
I like the story. It was cute and hot all in one. My gracious, Finn was so very good and being bad. He was hot as the Texas heat in August. He could have communicated things better with Willow once he was back in town but his intentions were in the right place because he truly loved her. Willow was a little spineless but I can understand it due to her many years of negative conditioning by her father. The characters were interesting and I’m looking forward to there stories. I know the sisters will get there stories but I really hope Drew gets his story. He my favorite characters. Until next time y’all happy reading.
I loved it
Good read.
Loved the story. Looking forward to reading the series.
Good story … buried in a bit too much repetitive steamy
Sweet story about a second chance at true love.
Well edited.
Willow and Finn meet in high school. They have a deep connection, but Daddy doesn’t like it. When Finn unexpectedly leaves town, Willow’s heart is broken. How could he leave with no explanation, no goodbye? Ten years later, Willow is working for her daddy in the mayor’s office. Life isn’t perfect, but it’s moving. Things are about to change dramatically when Finn walks into her office. He’s there with his twin and longtime friend to open up a bar in her little town. Willow is beyond shocked. But Finn has purpose. Not only is he in town to open up a bar, but he is also there to try and get his heart back. Will Willow allow him back in? Is it wise when he is set to leave town again? Does her heart really care?
Set in Mississippi, this is great for an afternoon glass of iced tea, reading on the porch. Enjoy!
This was such a cute, flirty romance. I absolutely loved the Southern feel to it and could relate to a lot of the small town happenings, from the traditions to the gossiping. Finn was a total sweetheart, even though he frustrated me at times. And the steam. Whew. Definitely a great read.
This small-town romance will win your heart. Steamy chemistry and snappy dialogue had me glued to every page. Brighton Walsh penned one hell of a second-chance romance.
This is the 1st book I read by Brighton Walsh. I’m sorry I stopped reading this story at chapter 2 because it didn’t grab my interest.
True rating is between 3.75 and 4-stars. I was very pleasantly surprised by this book. Brighton Walsh is a new-to-me author. She writes engaging characters who are down to earth and live pretty normal, everyday lives. However, she infuses them with just that little something that makes you want to get to know them better. These characters are flawed, sometimes they try to cover up their flaws, and sometimes they wear them loud and proud.
Second Chance Charmer has the same storyline as many second chance romances, but the way Walsh tells the story is what sucks you in and gives it that something extra. The story is raw and emotional but still remains light and easy to read. It’s kind of a perfect combination for a relaxing story you can get lost in without it really being a relaxing story. Reread that, it’ll make sense, I promise.
Would have been a ok book but for all the sex. It’s like every chapter. So ridiculous. It took from the story. Not much meat to the storyline.
Nothing but sex. Story would be good without so much sex.
