“Brighton Walsh delivers hot, captivating romance.” ~ Jaci Burton, New York Times Bestselling AuthorHe was the resident bad boy. She’s small town royalty. Their love was doomed from the start.Finn spent his childhood living so far on the wrong side of the tracks, he couldn’t even see them through his trailer window. When he moves back to his small, southern hometown to open the first bar in a … southern hometown to open the first bar in a formerly dry county, he’s no longer the boy who left—he’s a man with something to prove. As long as he doesn’t allow himself to get sidetracked by the only girl he’s ever loved.
Willow learned a long time ago to protect her heart at all costs, so her walls are firmly in place when her ex comes strolling back into town, all cockiness and charm. When they’re thrown together on the job, she knows better than to give in to the tug of attraction that still simmers between them. She might be drawn to him, but she certainly doesn’t trust him. It’s time for her to prove she’s not the brokenhearted girl he left behind.
There’s no room for second chances in Havenbrook. And Willow’s daddy—the mayor—will do anything to keep it that way.

Way too explicit
Too graphic!
Havensbrook. A small town, unattractive or fun from which young people flee. A pretentious and prejudiced mayor who wants to control the lives of his daughters in his standards and ways. The older Aurora Jane (Rory), fully meets his expectations. The youngest, Natalie, is a free spirit and ran away as soon as she could. The two middle daughters, Willow and Mackenna are under pressure not to be adequate enough for their father’s standards. This is the scenario in Second Chance Charmer.
Although the focus of the narrative is Willow Haven and Thomas Griffin, Richard Haven is the mayor and father. And even when he does not appear, in certain scenes he is also present. Because it is a small town, founded by Willow’s family, her old relantionship with Finn Thomas and the way he abandoned her and left no word for ten years is known throughout the city. This and other facts, make the approach of Will and Finn a long journey.
The interaction between the couple is complicated because it involves much more than just hurt feelings. There are hidden secrets acting as barriers. There are walls erected by the pain of abandonment and rejection. There is a latent and magnetic chemistry that approaches and repels them.
Secrets. The town of Havensbrook is full of them. Sisters who hide their true feelings and move away. People sacrificing their hearts for the good of families. Abusive parents, generous grandparents. From the middle of the narrative the secondary characters gain space and give new contours, giving the plot conflicts, depth and meaning.
Exciting twists and turns, but an impromptu end. A reading that requires the patience of the reader, as it does not begin with a promising development, because it has scenes with excess of details totally dispensable, and a writing without much fluency, but still, it can please some persistent reader.
After a year with no new Brighton Walsh books (though I loved her London Hale releases!), I was thrilled to learn she was releasing a new book early in 2018. I read it pretty much as soon as I got my hot little hands on it. (I just, uh, sucked at getting it reviewed. Are you sensing a theme?) I totally adored Finlow and the southern, small town setting totally worked for me.
I can always count on Brighton to bring the heat and the swoons — and I know she’ll always leave me with a happy ending and very little angst along the way — and Second Chance Charmer was no exception. Of course, I’m a total sucker for a second chance romance, so it was pretty much a foregone conclusion I’d fall in love with this book. I did. 1000%. Finn and Willow had a complicated past, but there was no doubt they were meant to be. Without spoiling anything, oh did he pine for her while they were apart. *swoons all over the place*
This book just flat out made my heart happy. It was the perfect combination of swoons and super sexy times. Finlow FTW!

And every year on her birthday—the same day they’d gotten tattoos in the first place—he went and got another root added at the bottom of the tree. He might’ve spent his years being thousands of miles away from her, but she’d been stamped on his heart—and his body—forever, her very essence permeating down to his bones.
With characters as deep as the red clay under their feet and enough heat to make a steamy southern night feel chilly, Second Chance Charmer offers a fresh new take on small town romance. This is how second chance romance should be done!
This is the first book I’ve read from Brighton and won’t be the last. It was a great second chance romance. I loved Willow and Finn’s story. It was heartfelt and their love was undeniable with their sexual tension. It was hot. I also loved the other characters in the book. Everyone made this book enjoyable.
Ahhh….be still my heart!! It’s been awhile since I have read a Brighton Walsh book but once again she reminds me why I adore and love her books. With her sexy and visceral beautiful writing she creates a story for readers to get lost in. Hearts will burst with happiness as we are swept away in an endearing second chance love story that is set in a small town in her latest release, Second Chance Charmer.
“No matter what’s happened between us, I’d never want anything to erase what we had. Because what we had was real, Willow, and you know it. Don’t forget that.”
Ten years ago, Willow Haven and Finn Thomas were teenagers madly in love. Two kids from opposite side of the tracks, it was a happily ever after romance waiting to happen that is until Finn walked away. No reasons as to why leaving Willow brokenhearted. Fast forward to the present, Finn is back and this time he crosses path with Willow. Will Finn be able to show Willow that their past and present were meant to collide because this was their second chance to make it right? Can Willow forgive Finn Thomas?
With Walsh’s charming prose and characters that are so real they jump off the page, Second Chance Charmer is a sweet, heartfelt, and sexy love story that is a testament that real love isn’t something that can be easily erased and is worth fighting for
Second Chance Charmer by Brighton Walsh is a wonderful second-chance romance set in a whimsical small town that I would love to visit. Well-paced and well-written I couldn’t get enough of Finn & Willow and the secondary characters in this tale.
Willow has been dealing with the heartbreak of Finn leaving without a word for nearly ten years. She was doing good, she thought, revitalizing the town despite the constant undermining and complaining from her father, the mayor. When Finn shows back up with his twin brother wanting to open a bar on main street she is left with no choice but to deal with him. The business will pump good money into the town so she wants it to open but with as little interaction with Finn as possible if you please.
Finn left Willow behind all those years ago for a number of reasons. He wouldn’t change what he did but he has always regretted it. The bar opening is a chance for him to maybe set things right with her and finally heal the gaping hole his leaving left in both their hearts.
LOVED THIS! Romantic, angsty, witty, sexy – all the good makings of a strong romance and all pieced together perfectly. Enjoy!
