WOW! This boxset by Alexa Verde was even better than I could have imagined. I have never been disappointed with any of Alexa’s books. She is definitely one of my favorite authors and animals are an added bonus since I am a huge animal person.
I received ARC of this book. All opinions are my own.
This is the first time I have read stories by this Alexa Verde. I enjoyed each inspirational story and found them to be an easy read.
I love Alexa’s books, and this lovely set of three previously published romances is no exception. Sweet, funny, and hearwarming small-town second-chance stories.
A set of stories with amazing characters. They are full of hope, forgiveness, faith, struggles, and a second chance at love. Letting God be in control instead of always doing it all ourselves. Alexa takes you on an amazing journey in each story. I highly recommend this set all all of her books.
I received an Advanced Reader Copy at no cost from the publisher and this is my honest opinion.
Loved these stories!!In Hold Me, we get Roman and Aileen’s story. I wanted to read their story as soon as I met Roman in the earlier Chapel Cove books, and was not disappointed!!! I love the way they worked through their past, and that Aileen learned she really could depend on God and trust Him to work things out for her. Also, that she knew Roman would be there for her, no matter what, too.
In Second Chance at Love, we meet Joy, Dylan, and his sons, Travis and Junior. Joy has loved Dylan for years, and he’d always looked at her as a friend. A very good friend, but still a friend. When they meet again after four years, Joy is still in love with him, and Dylan has strong feelings for her. They can’t move closer until they both realize that they won’t leave each other. That they love each other enough to adapt to each other, and God has their best interests at heart, and can work when we give Him the room to do so!
In Not Your Cinderella Type, we meet Rodrigo and Allie. They first met much younger, and dated at 15. Then, they were split apart by an unfeeling adult. Both had to find their way back to God, and then they could find each other, when they realized they were both worth loving, and God had not abandoned them. Great reads!!!
I received a complimentary copy of this collection, was not required to leave a review, and the opinion expressed is my own.
Take a leap of faith. Love conquers all. People deserve as many chances as we would like to ask for ourselves. An inspiring box set of reunion, a single dad, and a fairytale retelling. Romances with small town settings, twist and turn plots, delightful characters and believable resolutions.
Hold Me is a well-written, emotion-tugging romance that displays the power of God if we will but trust Him. Aileen and Ronan are likable characters that are easy to empathize with. Jonah, Aileen’s teenage son, adds humor and tenderness to the story. I loved the HEA! It’s perfect for this couple. I thoroughly enjoyed reading Hold Me and would not hesitate to recommend it to my friends and family. I hope to read more in this series and more from Alexa Verde. I like Ms. Verde’s writing style–the story just flows.
Season of Joy gives the reader an excellent friendship to romance story. There’s quite a bit of action between Joy being a bit clumsy, boys being boys, and less than compliant pets. Dylan and Joy are great characters that both have relationship hangups because of past experiences. There are some valuable concepts to learn along with the characters. Alexa Verde just weaves those in as a natural part of the story. There’s a great HEA and a wonderful epilogue.
Not Your Cinderella Type is a sweet fairy-tale retelling. Allie and Rodrigo are likable characters, and I was hoping for their HEA, and I got it. There’s a perfect epilogue for this book.
I highly recommend this book set for readers of clean/wholesome romance, lovers of fairy tales, and to readers of Christian fiction. I got my copy through KU.
The characters in these books are truly inspirational people. You will feel God working throughout this wonderful box set. Alexa Verde will have you on the edge of your seat waiting to see what happens next.
I had the honor to review this book for the author for a honest review. I would give this box set a higher rating than a five star review if I could.
Cute Little Story
Very sweet and enjoyable read – with the ball, the shoe, and cleaning lady 😉
“We all wear some kinds of masks because we’re afraid to get hurt. But to be happy, we have to let people know our true selves. Only when we’re most vulnerable, do we become who we are. We have to bare our faces, our hearts, and our souls.”
I love this set of three amazing stories, and I know you will too! Alexa has created wonderful characters that make you cheer for them when good things come their way and cry with them when they hurt.
I enjoy going to her fictional towns whenever I can, and am always pleased when she has a new release. This book contains three stories, and each have their own personalities…but the common thread is getting a second chance for love, and who doesn’t love that?
Captured from the first page, I couldn’t stop reading. Intrigue, family relationships and a chance for love are all found in this wonderful story. I enjoy reading stories by Alexa Verde. I received a complimentary copy of the story. No review was required.
This collection of books by Alexa Verde is a sweet mix of stories that will warm your heart and show how second chances are possible.
The first book in the set is Hold Me from the Chapel Cove series. It’s a sweet story of two people who loved each other and find love again after years apart with hurt hearts. I loved this book. First, because the setting is in my beautiful state of Oregon. Then second, because it lets us see there is forgiveness and acceptance even when we think there’s no hope.
The second book in this collection is Season of Joy. It is part of a collection of sweet books. Alexa Verde has written the main character in this story with issues that touch me deeply. The struggles she went through with her weight and feelings of worth are so proviolent this day and age. I believe many women, and maybe men could identify. I know I can identify with this character.
The third book in this collection is a new one. Not Your Cinderella Type.
We all wear masks of one kind or another. We often hid behind personalities that might not be our true self, behind looks that might not really be what we’re comfortable in, and jobs that we feel pressured into. It’s all around us.
I loved this book, not only because it was written by one of my favorite authors, Alexa Verde, but because it gave hope and a bit of “happy-ever-after.” I’m a romantic at heart and this book hit the mark for me. It was also just a delight to read during this crazy time in my life.
Throughout this book, the author wove sweet messages of finding acceptance for who we are, just the way we are.
Add this collection of books to your list of sweet books to read! I highly recommend it.
I was given this book by the publisher which did not influence my review in any way, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
