These are three of the most profound, emotional, powerful and alluring romances I’ve ever read. The visceral feelings of happiness, sadness, devastation, passion and romance are so beautifully written, that they spill from the page into your heart. It’s beautiful. Don’t miss these books. Plus, I guarantee that once you read them you will be hooked to her writing.
Here’s my review for each book:
WHEN FOREVER CHANGES:
It’s funny how when you read a book, everyone comes away from it feeling differently or affected differently than everyone else. I read this book as a buddy read with Amber, my friend. Well, Amber and I had different feelings about this book when we finished. We both cried our hearts out, but for different reasons.
Ok..now about the book our wonderful, awesome, talented Siobhan Davis, wrote for us to read. The woman truly knows how to open her heart and bleed her words on to the pages. It’s the most beautiful experience there ever was. If you haven’t had a Siobhan Davis experience, you’re missing out.
For me the experience of the book was of a boy who loved a girl since he was very young, and she was younger, and she never took notice because she was in love with some one else. Heartbreaking…totally.
His name was, Slater. Her name was Gabrielle. But he called her Belle, and was the ONLY one who did. She was obsessed with Beauty and the Beast when she was little, and Slater used to tease her saying she wanted to be Belle for access to the library. But he was only partly right. She did daydream about being Belle, but she was no different than any young girl her age, and she wanted to be her for the prince. Not the books! Anyway, the name stuck, and Slater called her Belle ever since then.
She dated this other boy she loved, Dylan, for many years, until in college he began to change and not be so nice, and they broke up. Her family was there for her, she had an amazing family. I really loved her family. And her brother Ryan, who she was very close to had her move in with him. Now Slater is Ryan’s best friend, has been since childhood, and a member of the family. He is one of Ryan’s roommates too. Slater wants to be there for Belle too.
“You’ll find someone amazing, Belle. Someone who sets your world on fire. Someone who appreciates how beautiful and special and intelligent and caring you are, and he’ll be the luckiest bastard because he’ll get to spend the rest of his life with you in it.” ~ Slater
So Belle starts to realize she has feelings for Slater. Feelings that maybe were always there, but she didn’t notice because she was so in love with Dylan at the time. So they fall head over heels in love. So much passion, so much love.
“I’d do anything for you, Belle. Anything.” Slater was loyal, devoted and totally in love with Belle. She meant the world to him.
Then there was news. Seemed like great news.
Then there was a tragedy.
Everything spiraling for Slater.
Can I just say I cried buckets for Slater….for SLATER!!! Yes, you heard me right!! It’s funny, but he is the character I identified with throughout this story.
And this is a long story. This isn’t one of your ok this happens, then this, then they lived happily ever after. Lol! This could have easily been two books full of DRAMA!!! When I say drama, I mean HEAVY DRAMA, EMOTIONAL, CRYING, SOBBING!!!!! Like I say, for me it was for Slater. But for someone else it could, and MOST LIKELY would have been for someone else!!!
After all is said and done about the crying, and who is crying for who. The thing of it is, the beauty of this story. Siobhan took to writing and opened her heart and poured it out and wrote a story that could affect us in this way. That could make some people cry for some characters and other people cry for other characters. I know she didn’t plan this, but when she opened her heart and bled on the paper, this is what happened. If she planned it too much, it wouldn’t have worked out this way.
This has been the hardest review I have ever written. I hope it’s not all over the place.
INSEPARABLE:
I’m still feeling “all the feels” from this book. This is the BEST DA*N BOOK I HAVE EVER READ!!!! I’m not exaggerating!! This is my ALL TIME FAVORITE BOOK IN THE WHOLE WORLD!!!!!! I’M YELLING….I CAN’T HELP IT!!!! I FEEL LIKE I WANT TO YELL IT FROM MY ROOFTOP SO EVERYONE KNOWS WHAT A GREAT BOOK THIS IS!!!!!!!
Ok….now that I got that out, for now. Inseparable is a book of such depth, such emotion, that there is absolutely NO WAY I could have read this in 24 hrs. I mean, give me a RomCom or ChicLit and no problem, but a book like this NO WAY. I needed emotional breaks, breathers. This book is packed full of so much that goes on in the lives of the three main characters. The depth of emotion, it was so beautiful. The subjects this book touched on (and there were a few of them) were so emotional and touching. I want to talk about how well she touched on these subjects, but I can’t without giving anything away. But, Siobhan Davis has shown what a truly skilled writer she is. Touching on some pretty difficult emotions and experiences, and making us feel as if we were experiencing them ourselves. I felt as if I had to stop and catch my breath at times. But the beauty of it is, we are not just being entertained by a beautiful story, but we are learning a little more what people go through and therefore developing empathy for them. Pure magic, that’s what Ms. Davis has performed with her writing…pure magic.
Do yourself a favor and read the story of the Inseparable friendship of three friends, Ayden, Devin and Angelina. You may be like me and yelling out how it’s the best da*n book you’ve ever read!! I have no doubt, I am absolutely sure you’ll love it!!
ONLY EVER YOU
I want to start my review off by saying, THIS BOOK IS PHENOMENAL!! This is to me, the author’s best work up to date. It is obvious she put a lot of work, research and heart into this book.
But, this book affected me quite a bit. I actually had to read it twice, in order to feel like I was in the “right place” to give it a proper review.
When Ryder and Zeta are teenagers in juvie, coming from really bad backgrounds, it’s obvious off and on that Ryder deals with depression, anxiety and panic disorder. The counselor there is helping him and it works while he’s there. Keeping routine and structure in his day, leaving a situation before becoming angry (he has anger management issues) and learning how to cope in an anxiety attack. But when he starts to build a relationship with Zeta in there, little things that affect him, or how he handles things, shows he has mental issues. Then on the outside life becomes too much. Especially as a rock star and being split up from Zeta, and then Ryder also ends up becoming an addict. Throughout the book you can see his mental problems culminating for so many reasons that I don’t want to give away. But let’s just say that this book is not just extremely emotional, it’s hard to handle. When I say that, I mean I had to take a break from the turmoil of the story. There’s so much. BUT….IT IS WORTH GETTING THROUGH TO THE END!!!!
The characters in this book are so real. All of them. Some of the side characters I just loved! A couple I wanted to strangle. Then there were those I really hated. But Ryder & Zeta were special. Zeta…she was such a strong-willed girl. She overcame so much in her life, that no girl should ever have to go through. From a young age too. My heart went out to Zeta. She had such a big heart and when she loved she loved big. Ryder…my heart breaks just saying his name. He went from such a broken teenager (from a young age) to an even more broken man. Zeta was his only salvation. It was extremely heart wrenching to watch this grown man spiral. He loved Zeta more than anything, and he loved big! He loved his music, but getting lost in his music wasn’t enough.
The band mates were all close. Some of them were instigators of trouble for Ryder, if you ask me. But I guess that how band life can be. Lots of partying. But they were family.
This book pulled out so many feelings. Maybe not for every reader. But I know for quite a few, so far. But in the end it pulls out some more feelings, and they will be happy, satisfied and you will feel fulfilled as a reader. This book is definitely not one to be missed! If there is one new book you buy to read for the year, make it this one and you won’t be sorry!!!
There you are. Three AMAZING books ALL IN ONE COLLECTION, for one LOW price!! DON’T PASS THIS ONE UP!!!!
WHEN FOREVER CHANGES
When Forever Changes is one of those stories where readers will have different reading experiences; you’ll love certain parts, you’ll be moved by others, and you’ll have your favorite character. This isn’t a story that’s easy to read, and I needed a few days to process the kaleidoscope of feelings I had whilst reading this 5 star standalone by one of my top 10 authors. Even now, two weeks later, I’m still thinking about this book and what it made me feel.
“Every day with you is a blessing and a gift, and I love this life we share.” – Gabby to Dylan
One part that’s remained with me was when Gabby, unable to deal with the pain caused by Dylan who she thought was her forever, sobbed into her pillow. I was able to relate with this and it reminded me of what I went through with my ex who basically broke my heart like Dylan did to Gabby. Such a simple scene was so powerful, and this shows the talent and ability of the author. To be able to pull a reader in and get all those emotions ‘spot on’ isn’t always something an author finds easy.
“That’s what true love is.” I lift my head to look at him. “It’s not being afraid to fight for the person you love, and never giving up even when all seems lost.” – Gabby to Slater
The second part that also stood out for me was when it looked like Gabby was finally going to get her forever, but with Slater who is my favorite character of the book, and then she’s hit with two pieces of news that again changes the course of her life. It took me longer to read the story from here as I needed short breaks to deal with my emotions, some of which weren’t always kind towards Gabby and Dylan who I felt could, on occasion, be inconsiderate of poor Slater who just wanted to do the right thing by the woman he loved. For me, I want to be made to feel and think about a character’s choices and actions. I want characters who show how people really can be. I want characters who I may dislike. Again, having a reader feel all of these different things shows how talented an author is.
I’ve never felt like this before when reading, or after reading, a book. I didn’t have a clue where to start with this review as I couldn’t find the words to explain the journey this powerful and emotive book took me on. Siobhan Davis never fails to deliver a book that’s different from the last, and also different from the next. Does this book compare to Inseparable? No, because they can’t be compared as both are very different stories and journeys. Siobhan Davis has given her readers some incredible standalones that showcases the magic she can weave over her readers, but her series aren’t to be overlooked either. I’ve yet to come across a book by this author that doesn’t leave me unable to move on until I’ve taken some time to think over what the book has made me feel.
I know there’s some mixed reviews about When Forever Changes, and some readers may be put off, but I urge you to give this book a chance and make up your own mind. As I’ve already said, this is a book that takes readers on a different journey and reading experience, and, for me, that’s the sign of a book that needs to be picked up and read. This book isn’t Inseparable, and it’s not Incognito either. This book stands out on it’s own just as any other book does by this author.
INSEPARABLE
I knew this book was going to be great before I started reading it as Siobhan Davis never fails to deliver an unforgettable story but I was not prepared for the emotional ride that Inseparable would take me on. Siobhan Davis’ cleverly crafted words allowed me to really get to know ‘the awesome-threesome’ and I became so involved in their story that I felt like I’d lost good friends once it had ended. I was unable to stop thinking about them for days after and had to keep reminding myself that Angelina, Devin and Ayden were just fictional characters created by one of my favourite authors.
‘The awesome -threesome will never die. Best friends for infinity. No matter what, we will always be there for each other.’ – Angelina, Devin and Ayden
I loved how Siobhan Davis wrote the story in three parts and each one covered a different time period in Angelina, Devin and Ayden’s journeys. Each one gave you surprises along the way and left you unsure of what was going to happen next. I couldn’t put this book down and I can honestly say this is my favourite book by Siobhan Davis so far. What an amazing first contemporary romance to have written! If you’ve not yet read this breathtakingly and powerful story then I urge you to download it today as you won’t be disappointed.
ONLY EVER YOU
Only Ever You starts hard and doesn’t stop until the end! This story is full of twists and turns, and you’re left needing time to process all the feelings and emotions you experienced whilst reading this powerful 5 star read from an author who proves again and again just how talented she is. Having read several of Siobhan Davis’ books, I’ve come to expect stories that don’t shy away from difficult topics that some people face in real life and she doesn’t disappoint with her latest masterpiece. The story does become dark in some places, but not once did I find myself unable to continue reading. In fact, I couldn’t stop reading and was up until the early hours like usual when it comes to a book by this author.
This story is cleverly written with showing the reader ‘before’, ‘now’ and ‘after’. We also hear from both Ryder and Zeta, which allows us to feel what they’re going through even more and see their own personal battles as they deal with the demons from their childhoods. Ryder’s story tore my heart to pieces and the shocks keep on coming even towards the end. There’s a plot twist that I did not see coming! As for Zeta, I feel she started to heal and deal with her past before Ryder did, and this allowed her to be there for him when he reached rock bottom and needed help getting back up.
It’s taken me a few days to be able to put together a review because I was struggling, as usual with this author’s work, to put my thoughts into words. I needed time to process it all, and to also feel able to type a review worthy of such an amazing book. I don’t want to say too much because I don’t want to give away the story, but I can say that you need to pick up Only Ever You today and you definitely won’t be disappointed. Make sure you have the time to read Ryder and Zeta’s story in one sitting though because you won’t be able to put it down.
When Forever Changes
This story will take you on a heart gripping journey from beginning to end.
Everytime I read a Siobhan Davis novel, she takes the story to the next level and I cannot give it enough justice.
I could write a review based on the story but I do not want to give anything away, as I feel you need to just pick the book up and start reading.
Be prepared to have your heart ripped out, put back together again for it to be ripped out again. The story shows how strong one person can be, based around so much tragedy, to only make you stronger.
HAPPY READING!!!
I voluntarily reviewed an advance complimentary copy of this book.
Inseparable
First time reading a novel by Siobhan Davis and words cannot describe the heartfelt that is put into this story from beginning to end.
I don’t often read the notes by the author but this time I did and you can tell from personal experience that Siobhan has faced certain aspects or someone in her life has. The details that is put into this story is like you are experiencing the story yourself. The story is something that no one should have to face but unfortunately it does.
The blurb explains what is to be written in a review and the reader needs to be be prepared to be on a rollercoaster of your life. Every emotion will be pulled out of your soul and still will not give this story justice.
This novel would have to be in my top ten reads of all time as I love the emotions that is pulled out and put in by the author.
Fantastic job Siobhan!

Only Ever You
Only Ever You is another heart gripping story written to perfection that Siobhan has succeeded in again. For me personally, I found some parts very hard to read and did make me feel sick to a point of how inhumane us humans can be. Siobhan is able to draw you into the storyline with her words and is able to make you feel like you have experienced the story firsthand yourself.
Only Ever You is the first story of Siobhan’s that I would have to say I did not enjoy but it is beautifully written. It still deserves 5 Stars.
I will say some people will find this story hard to read but if you can overcome the dark parts of the story, you will be glad you read it.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book
I really enjoyed reading all of the books in this box set. If you are in the mood for a steamy romance with it’s fair share of emotional twists and turns, you’ll love reading these standalone novels.
When Forever Changes:
5 absolutely heart-wrenching, but also happy dancing stars!
First of all, I just have to say that I LOVE that there is a character named Myndi! Thank you, Siobhan Davis!!! Can we get Myndi’s story too???
Now that that’s out of the way. I freaking adore Gabby. She is amazing and complicated and loving and just an all around wonderful character. I am completely smitten with Slater. What a great guy. He’s patient and caring and just what every girl dreams of…a guy that’s totally focused on her and wants her to be happy. I wanted to hate Dylan, I mean, I think everyone probably will! But, Davis has created so many facets to this character that you just can’t help but love him anyway.
There is so much emotion in this story. There is so much heart ache and grief. Be prepared to cry, (possibly even at work on your break like I did!) Love and happiness abound as well though, so don’t be afraid to read it because you would be missing out. This author is just one of those authors that I KNOW I’m going to love the book. I always make sure that I have plenty of time to read, because I know it will be the kind of book I won’t want to put down. I will be a Siobhan Davis fan for life!
Inseparable:
Davis always has the ability to get me so emotionally invested in a book that I can’t seem to put it down. Her writing is so beautiful and eloquent that when I read the first paragraph, I had to stop and read it to my 15 year old daughter, an aspiring writer. It will probably go down as one of my all time favorite book openings.
Angelina, Devin and Ayden are such complex and interesting characters. As we read about their friendship, their lives, the tragedies and the joys, it’s so easy to get pulled in and feel for these characters as if they were your friends, your relatives. I found myself in tears several times throughout the reading of this book, both happy and sad. You will find immense grief in this book, but also understanding and happiness. You will struggle to make sense of things that happen and feel loss as if it was your own. There are parts in the story that broke my heart, but also parts where you can see the characters learning from their lives and learning to move on. A big theme in this book, moving on. Not that we forget the things that brought us to where we are, we “Always Remember,” and it shapes who we are.
There are very difficult situations in this story that the author has written about with compassion, understanding, and finesse. These things are not easy to deal with, but are common in our world, and unfortunately a lot of times glossed over. I appreciate, very much, the author’s inclusion of some help lines at the end of the book for anyone who might be struggling with similar issues.
If you’re a fan of Siobhan Davis’ work, if you love an angsty NA contemporary romance, if you enjoy reading about second chances in life, you’re going to want to pick up this book.
Only Ever You:
This romance is full of angst, emotion, mystery, and misery. It’s also full of redemption, forgiveness, and plenty of steamy scenes.
I love stories that involve a second chance. There are second chances all over this story. There is the obvious second chance romance, there are kids with bad upbringings getting second chances, there are even parents who missed their kid’s childhood getting another chance to be a part of their lives.
There is so much pain and sadness throughout, this story will surely pull at your heartstrings. Along with the sad, however, there is plenty of happy redeeming moments. You will want to cheer for Ryder and Zeta as they find their way through a life that didn’t always give them the chances to be happy.
I love how this book sheds light on some things that people still seem to stick a stigma to (the author very intelligently addresses this in her afterward,) such as mental illness and dealing with the aftermath of traumatic experiences. There is such a great support system in place for the affected, it shows us how a truly supportive circle should be in these circumstances.
One of my favorite things about Davis’s stand alone works, is how she wraps them up with such closure that we get to see with our own eyes that the characters are happy and well-adjusted. I’m always left with such a feeling of contentment after finishing one of her books. I need that closure, because her characters work their way deep into my heart and I just need to know that they are ok.
If you love angsty romance, rock star romance, contemporary/thriller type romance, or just Siobhan Davis work in general, you’re going to love this book!
I rated all of these as five stars and below are reviews for each book.
Review for Inseparable:
This is the first review where I had to wait a handful of days until I was ready to tackle writing it. The story is still sinking in, and I know it is one of those that I will never forget. I even snickered at the thought that Siobhan could have titled this “Unforgettable” and still have been spot-on. Have you ever felt as though you connect with the characters on such a deep level that your brain begins to believe they are actual human beings and it physically hurts when the story ends—AKA the book hangover? Well, this was one of those times for me. It has been too hard to move on with another book, so I have just been binge-watching shows on Hulu while moping around in my pajamas. I will warn you, this is a very emotional read. I found myself needing to go over some scenes a few times because I was crying so hard; therefore, you may want to have a box of tissues handy.
The story focuses on three characters who grew up as neighbors and were inseparable until high school. I am sure you are all familiar with the many obstacles we face throughout our youth which can make or break relationships, and you will experience that and then some while reading this. This is a story of what happens when life gets in the way.
…
The slow-building, friends-to-lovers romance in this book is also one of my favorites. This is not a story of puppy love. This is a story of the kind of love that comes with heartache, sacrifices, and absolute devotion. The kind that includes the highest of highs and the lowest of lows. The kind that we all deserve. If only there was a better word to describe how beautiful the romance in this book is.
Now, this story is mostly Angelina’s POV; however, that will not prevent you from feeling connected to the other characters because Siobhan has well-written dialogue to keep us in the others’ minds. Since each main character responds to life so differently than the others, we have very complex individuals and I feel that you will find at least one you can relate to. The character I felt the closest to is currently tied in first place as one of my favorites, and I don’t want to give anything away, but watching this character transform over the years was beautiful. It was rewarding to see them change over time.
For those that are new to Siobhan Davis: if you enjoy reading books where the authors aren’t afraid to cover difficult issues, such as Brittainy C. Cherry, you are going to love this. After this, you must check out Siobhan’s other series!
Review for When Forever Changes:
Before you read this book, make sure you go to Costco or Sams to stock up on tissues. It is also probably a good idea to read this one away from other people unless you enjoy ugly crying in front of others.
Even though I cried so hard I couldn’t finish eating my lunch after nearly choking on it, I absolutely loved this story. As always, Siobhan doesn’t shy away from realistic situations, and this one is chock-full of them. I adored each character and hope to revisit them in future books (I won’t say which, but we get to visit with another amazing couple in a previous book). Now that I am finished reading this beautiful story, I don’t really know what to do with myself, so be prepared for a gnarly book hangover.
I highly suggest buying this if you enjoy the friends-to-lovers romance theme. Siobhan couldn’t have written this theme better, and I hope she continues to do so! I loved the silly anecdotes woven throughout the story, and greatly appreciated them during the sad parts.
I loved Inseparable and Incognito and highly recommend reading those as well if you haven’t yet. Inseparable will crush you too, but it’s well worth it! I do have to say that When Forever Changes might be my favorite of the bunch because I related with this story the most and it freaking tore my heart to bits. I wish I could say more but I don’t want to spoil anything.
Review for Only Ever You:
What a beautiful rockstar romance with moments of both darkness and light.
The first part was my favorite because this is the first book I’ve read where both the main characters spent time in juvie. I’m so glad the first part was more than just a chapter because it really helped develop our complex characters. I love that they’re both troubled teens, and I think it is genius for Siobhan to show that not everyone comes from a perfect home and how what happens during our youth shapes us as adults.
Because of the extensive background portion, I was able to really appreciate the second part when they are adults. Every decision whether good or bad made sense, and I really empathized with both of our lovely main characters. The romance was quite realistic so much that I was actually hoping a couple of times that Siobhan would have taken it to unrealistic fairytale levels so I wouldn’t have to deal with what happened next. However, I’m glad she didn’t because that wouldn’t have made sense. Haha. The supporting characters were as always written perfectly and brought a lot of smiles throughout the hard times.
Like I said before, some of the subject matter is dark, but Siobhan’s warning statement helped prepare me for it. Just go in knowing that this will be an emotional ride so you can experience this absolutely lovely story!
I received a copy and volunteered to review it.
*This is a review for Inseparable”
I’ve been a long time reader of Siobhan’s and I was really excited to pick up this standalone book. Inseparable is a story about 3 best friends, Angelina, Devin and Ayden. Angelina has been in love with Devin but she’s certain he’d never return her feelings. It further confirms her suspicions when Devin starts hooking up with the girls from school. Ayden has stayed by her side faithfully and when Devin pushed both of them away, Ayden has never left her side.
Everything changed one fateful night in college and nothing could ever be the same again. It was heartbreaking to read about the after effects of what happened but eventually everyone grew stronger and closer together.
Inseparable was quite a different read compared to the rest of Siobhan’s books. It felt darker and also more emotional. Siobhan’s material has really evolved since True Calling and in a really good way.
(I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book)
I have read each and every book in this box set and totally loved them all. Amazing stories and highly recommended.
Three amazing romances! I haven’t read Inseparable yet but I am sure it is just as wonderful as When Forever Changes and Only Ever You. Siobhan Davis is a must read author for me. She is an absolutely awesome writer.
WHEN FOREVER CHANGES: Young and in love, Gabby has her whole life planned with the man she loves at her side until fate steps in shattering her world. This poignant story by Siobhan Davis is one of heartbreak but even greater joy and it touched me deeply. It’s gut-wrenching and uplifting, and beautifully written. Keep the tissues handy because you will need them as you read this emotional and beautiful love story.
ONLY EVER YOU: Ryder and Zeta’s childhoods were filled with pain and heartbreak but when they meet in juvie, they find true happiness for the first time in their lives. Their happiness is short lived though and they part ways. The story then leaps eight years ahead. Ryder is a troubled, unhappy rock star, barely hanging on, and Zeta is a magazine reporter assigned to do an article about Ryder’s band and their new album. Ryder and Zeta still love each other, despite the painful end to their relationship as teens, so it isn’t long before they are reconciled. But Ryder is keeping a dangerous secret. Only Ever You is a deeply emotional love story that really touched me and broke my heart more than once. I was completely engrossed in this compelling romance. Ryder’s desperation and anguish is palpable. Zeta’s pain every time he hurts her is heartbreaking but their love for each other rises above everything else.
If you haven’t read any of Siobhan Davis’ books yet, you’re in for a ride! She does intense and angsty like nobody’s business! The three books in this collection are all seriously awesome. They’re the kind that drag you into the story, keep you hooked from beginning to end and make you stay up until way past your bedtime! Here are my reviews for all three books:
When Forever Changes
Holy cow, this book was amazing and enthralling and I got totally immersed! It described a love triangle unlike any I’ve ever read before. In fact, it was more like three love stories in one, where all were literally intertwined yet completely independent. To keep things interesting, each had its share of complete bliss and complete despair. I found this really cool and that it gave a fresh twist to the love triangle situation. The intensity of the book was part of why I loved it and partly why my heart broke over it. The book should come with a box of tissues because it’s impossible to read without shedding a tear – I personally cried a good bucketful! All three characters had me falling in love with them: Dylan for his sincerity and guts (you can’t deny it once you find it!), Slater for his patience and reliability, and Gabby for her courage and positive outlook. Amidst all the drama and obstacles, the foundation of what bound all three was love and compassion. Despite the bouts of heart-break, this book is uplifting in its portrayal of the boundless lengths that people will go to for love, as well as how deeply and permanently a genuine loving friendship can impact two people. If you’re into emotional roller-coasters with a HEA, this book will not disappoint!
Inseperable
Truly one of the most heartbreaking books I’ve ever read. There is so much angst and desperation you doubt there will be a happy ending throughout most of the book. The characters are so raw, yet so deep you can’t help but feel all their pain and hope against all odds that love will pull through. This is a journey through despair toward joy that will have you at the edge of your seat, turning pages until past your bedtime, and that will stay with you long after you’re done. I warn you, though: there is a risk of ugly crying through the middle…!
Only Ever You
Goodness, this book packs a punch. The level of angst and tragedy is insane, and the twists, oh the twists… The first chapter set the theme for the rest of the book: pain, fear, and heartbreak. The situation Zeta and Ryder found themselves in when they met reinforced this, then the choices made by each continued to afflict them for years. Fate gives their love a second chance, and their tumultuous journey eventually becomes one of healing. I was glued to the book and reality ceased to exist as I was immersed in this story. My heart broke with theirs, real tears ran freely several times, but I hung on until the end to see this romance through. Davis’ genius and empathy was once again evident in the manner in which she treated sensitive subjects and pushed the enveloppe to encompass the process of moving on past horrific events. This book destroyed me in the best possible way. As far as emotions are concerned, this book deserves 10 stars!
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary advance copy of the book.
I read all three of these novels and can attest that they are INCREDIBLE. There are very few authors who can make emotion bleed from the pages in ways that destroy you while simultaneously putting you back together. Below, I’ve included excerpts from my reviews as well as the star ratings.
Inseparable – 5 Stars
Inseparable was the first Siobhan Davis novel I read and I still recommend it wholeheartedly. Inseparable is a mentally and emotionally draining novel. If you’re looking for a story that will suck you in then break your heart in a million pieces then break it some more, Inseparable is for you.
When Forever Changes – 5 Stars
When Forever Changes is one of the most emotional books I’ve ever read. This book broke me repeatedly. I was in tears for most of it, so if be warned this may not be the best book to read in public. It’s hard to review this book since it’s one of those books you should read without knowing too much about it. Emotional, angsty, new adult romance is the perfect description for When Forever Changes.
Only Ever You – 3.5 Stars
Only Ever You is an emotionally heavy novel about the power of first love, forgiveness, and mental health. Only Ever You follows two teenagers who fall in love in an unlikely setting only to be ripped apart. Eight years later, they’re reintroduced to each other as wholly different people than they were before. Only Ever You is an emotionally hard-hitting novel that might not be for everyone. The first chapter sets the tone for the novel while delivering a sucker punch readers won’t see coming.
When Forever Changes
4 stars from me
I have spent 10 days (more or less) thinking about my review of this book. You would ask why I needed so many days to be able to put my thoughts and emotions into a review…..
the reason is that the story is not so simple to appraise. I definitely adore most of the Siobhan Davis’ books (The Kennedy’s series, the Saven series, the Inseparable, etc.), I cried like a baby when I was reading Inseparable and some of the other books, but unfortunately, I could not drop a tear while I was reading this book (although, a reader will have a lot of reasons why Kleenex would be needed). Maybe the reason is Dylan and Gabby, and their relationship, maybe it is the easiness how they changed each others life and their relationship… I cannot define the exact reason, but I feel like I missed real (for me) chemistry between them… or maybe Dylan did not feel like a real man who takes responsibility for his actions… or maybe Gabby felt not mature enough. I don’t know… Maybe I just expected more that I got…. A lot of maybes…
BUT! The book is good, I liked how the author twisted the plot, how the heroes had to deal with a lot of pressure, hard decision-making, real health issues, etc. This was really enjoyable read, just not so world-shocking as I wanted it to be.
I am still waiting for Siobhan Davis to crash my world as she did with her other books.
Inseparable
5+++++ (a lot) stars
I found Siobhan Davis as an author for me approximately a year ago ( give or take few months). The first book I read was Finding Kyler that I definitely liked a lot. That book started a line of other reads from Siobhan, and now I have read an ARC of Inseparable.
When Siobhan informed us, her fans, that she is writing a book about childhood threesome awesome I could not imagine the one I had my hands on. I loved it, I cried, I spent a half of night reading it and stopped only due to huge tiredness.
The book is about girl Angelina and two her best friends boys – Devin and Ayden. They all grew up together and were best friends forever, but during the last summer before senior year at high school everything changes and gets worse.
The story is written very well and I had connected with the main heroes, too. I felt their pain, their mistakes and actually believed almost always. I could not grab on Ayden, he was mystery for me and the end of the story just showed why it was so and why so much things were destroyed due to the untold truth.
I always feel like reading a real life story if the main heroes (especially the female ones) shows how they develop mentally and how they grow stronger and more mature. In this book Siobhan did it just perfectly. I believed the hurt and I felt it too…
I had great 24 hours with a fun, sorrow, but definitely good story. And what is fantastic also – the book is standalone, I have no need to bite my nails in anticipation for more books.
Hoping for more similarly good written stories.
Definitely recommend to those who love difficult YA romances and relationships.
Only Ever You
4+ stars
There may be some spoilers…
I would like to start with the heavy stuff and then move to the best parts of the book (heavy – like the things what made me to give only 4 stars, not 5 as the book might deserve due to the triggers and story behind).
First of all, being granted an opportunity to read book before its release (and written by one of my favorite romance/YA/NA/Contemporary authors), is such a great honor that every time I receive an advanced reader copy I almost jump with joy and rush to the book as soon as possible. I am very grateful to have such an opportunity. Anyway, let’s move to the book itself..
First, it starts with a really heavy scene and, despite the warning from the author at the beginning of the book and that it actually wasn’t too graphic, I still felt a little bit sick. It was so painful to read.. I would like to explain more, but it would spoil the readers to fully feel the pain, so be just warned that it is hard to read.
The book has historical throwback in order to understand where Zeta and Ryder’s story starts. The beginning sucks you in and you just follow the story’s lead. They are each others first love, so sweet and pretty innocent (with some sexual innuendos, but nothing too graphic or unpleasant). … and then there is “NOW” (written from both main heroes’ point of view). And the “NOW” is pretty harsh… Ryder is losing it, although, he is a rock star and has everything, Zeta just keeps going, keeps hurting.
You know what I did not like the most? Ryder… I could not connect with him. I could not understand how he could hurt a person he claimed to love from all his heart so badly. I could forgive mistakes done when he was 18, but could not 8 years later. He was a loose cannon and that wasn’t even funny or understandable. I could not manage to understand their “connection” and “love” they claimed to have for each other. I could grasp only hints of it and basically only that they craved each other sexually.
I have experienced love, even pretty passionate, but cannot understand how you claim one person as your soulmate and almost at the same time have your intimate parts of your body in absolute stranger’s mouth. I cannot…
Anyway, the book is still good and enjoyable, maybe Siobhan Davis has ruined me with her best of the best Inseparable, I am not sure, but I really had hard time to connect with Ryder… I could manage Zeta and I do believe that it is hard to say no to a person you love even when he hurts you constantly, but not Ryder… Sorry, Ryder, you did too much wrongs to be in love with you as book-boyfriend!
I voluntarily reviewed an advance complimentary copy of this book.
ONLY EVER YOU
Only Ever You is Siobhan Davis’ newest emotionally charged second chance rock star love story. I have been following Siobhan’s writing for the last few years and each book touches my heart in some way or another. This one is no different. It’s about second chances and not just in the love department.
Ryder and Zeta met under difficult circumstances but their love was real. Until he had to leave her behind, confused and broken hearted. Ryder was just as devastated but thought it was the only way to keep her safe. They have never forgotten their connection. It’s embedding in them. She should hate him. He should walk away again. But he can’t. Now, that she is standing in front of him again, eight years later, he doesn’t want to let her go.
Life is full of choices. She could have said no but deep down she knew she wouldn’t. This is an opportunity to find out the truth about why he left. Why he has been acting like the biggest manwhore on the planet. Why she can’t forget about him. It’s also about her career. To live with his band while they record their newest album. To write a documentary. Will it all be worth it when she gets her answers?
I don’t want to spoil anything but I will say…what a fucking ride it was! There are two parts to the story and I loved that. It was like two books in one. It’s not an easy book but it was so worth it. The characters’ childhoods were hard ones. Their adult ones are still suffering for it. I thought the writing was spectacular. The characters real and raw. The side characters were sometimes sweet. Sometimes assholes. I do hope to see them again.
Overall…it was fantastic read full of twists, love, loss, second chances, and rock stars.
Quotes:
“Zeta,” he whispers, never taking his eyes off my face.
I love the way he rasps my name, and a throbbing ache starts building between my thighs. “What?” I whisper back.
“I think I need you in my life.” His eyes burrow deep into mine as he lifts his hand, extending it toward me. “Friends?”
“I never imagined you could have it all yet have nothing at the same time,” I muse, resting my head back.
“You knew the girl I was, but you don’t know the woman I’ve become.”
“That may be true, but I’d like to get a chance to know her.”
WHEN FOREVER CHANGES
When Forever Changes is Siobhan Davis’ next angsty and emotional read. I have read almost all of Siobhan’s books and have loved them all but this one is my new favorite!! I wrote so many notes while reading but I won’t be using any of them. I do not want to spoil the story. The synopsis is perfection.
Gabby found her forever when she was only ten years old. Their lives were planned out. Their love epic. He was her everything and she was his. Then things changed. He changed. She didn’t know what was happening to the boy she fell in love with. He was crushing her. Over and over. She didn’t know what to do with this. Everything was changing so rapidly. Will their love survive or will the fairytale end? She knew deep down love was still there but was it enough?
Ok. That’s all I can really say and I know it wasn’t much. I will say that it was one of the most emotional reads I have read this year. I cried so hard. I also felt angry. I wanted to throw my iPad. I wanted to slap some characters. I wanted to hug some too. I was all of the place with this one and I loved it. My heart was in it from the very beginning until the very end.
Overall…it was an emotional rollercoaster that gave me every last feel. I laughed. I swooned. I cried. I flushed. I cringed. It was everything I never expected. I knew Siobhan would get me angst but damn…the emotional toll was not what I totally expected.
P.S Enjoy my tears, Siobhan.
Quotes:
“You deserve the world, Dimples, and I intend to give it to you.”
“Oh, honey, don’t waste your time trying to figure out the inner workings of the male brain. You’ll just give yourself a headache.”
“It’s amazing what one can accomplish with the right motivation,” I joke.
**I voluntarily reviewed this book for an advanced copy.
I read each of these separate and my reviews for each book are listed.
Inseparable:
I don’t even know how to write a review that will give this book justice. This was my first book by Siobhan Davis and it shook me to the core. In a good way, of course. This book is raw, gritty, intense and full of emotion. I can’t count the number of times I found myself in tears while reading. I’m still a mess of emotions trying to figure out what to say.
Angelina, Devin and Ayden have been best friends for their whole lives. As they begin their senior year of high school, things begin to change and then a tragic event shatters their lives. I can’t say more without spoilers.
There are some triggers in this book and sensitive topics, so I’ll warn about that. The book is split into 3 parts. Senior year of high school, Freshman year of college and almost five years later. Each part more intense and emotional than the last. This book was so good and I just couldn’t put it down!
Only Ever You:
Ms. Davis really knows how to write a story that pulls you in and is full of emotion. Only Ever You is a second chance rockstar romance that tells the story of Ryder and Zeta. They fall in love as teenagers and are torn apart only to be reunited years later.
This story deals with some heavy topics that may be triggers for some. Ryder and Zeta’s story is intense and emotional. Angst and turmoil and full of heart. A beautifully written story that will pull you apart and slowly put you back together.
When Forever Changes:
This book completely gutted me. The ugly tears were streaming down my face more than once. It was an emotional rollercoaster ride. I loved it!!
Gabby, Dylan and Slater were such amazing characters. I don’t want to give anything away with spoilers, so I’ll just say that you need to read this book. The storyline is so good and you can’t help but feel all the emotions. Everything was so intense. How do you go on when your heart is broken beyond repair? What happens when everything you had planned for your life suddenly falls apart?
3 standalone amazing books!!
Review for Only Ever You
This is the first book I’ve read by Siobhan Davis and what a read it was. This book will take you on a roller coaster ride and leave you wanting to keep flipping the pages until the end. Ryder and Zeta meet in juvie and become friends, then enemies, then friends again. Zeta and Ryder fall in love, but before they know it, he’s released. They plan to start their life together, when she’s released, but that decision never happens. Ryder kept a big secret from Zeta and it ends up making him leave her. I’m not going to leave any spoilers, but I will say this book will draw you in and you’ll be hooked. This book deals with several difficult topics, but the author handled them with tact and understanding. Sometimes, life isn’t fair, but we do the best we can to move on.
