We meet every other Wednesday night in a downtown hotel. No dates. No commitments. No hearts or flowers. Just his body and mine.Maybe I’m his second best. He’s definitely mine. But second best has never felt so good.Second Best is a steamy, standalone contemporary romance.
I really loved this story! Totally different to the norm and hard to put down, I read it in a few hours.
Can’t wait for more
Page turner, and did not need a dictionary. Sometimes repetitive, written in a hurry?
This was the first book that I read by this author. It was definitely steamy, if you’re into that, and since I was in the mood for something like that, it definitely held my interest and was fast-moving. I enjoyed Noelle Adams’ writing style and the fact that there were not too many characters to keep track of. I will definitely become an avid reader of books by this author!
Very good book. I was happy with the whole book. So glad it turned out how it did.
Friends with benefits story in a way
Loved the main characters! Their conversation was clever. Their growing romance was boy next door cute. You just root for them to see the love that they have for each other. I especially loved him being her date for her sisters wedding. You see it coming so I”m not giving much away. But how he handles everything is so great!
Some erotica books are too much for me, but I loved this one. Honestly, there is a lot of sex, but it ends up being somehow sweet, building an emotional connection rather than being explicit and redundant. (Don’t get me wrong, it’s still hot. Just not gross or overdone.) I read it all in one sitting, couldn’t put it down.
“If you can’t be with the one you love, love the one you’re with.”
Sean’s heart will never heal after his fiance’s death, and Ashley doesn’t stand a chance of actually getting a date with the guy she’s crushing on, so when their one-night-stand turns into an offer of a regular hookup they both rationalize that good sex is at least worth pursuing, especially if there’s no chance of either of them catching feelings.
Ah, but of course they do.
This story charts their progression from near-strangers to friends with benefits, through Sean’s healing and Ashley’s realizations, to getting involved with family and crossing all the lines drawn up in their nice, neat contract. This is a bit of a slow-burn romance filled with insta-lust and plenty of steamy, sheet-clenching scenes. I thoroughly enjoyed every bit of this story, and rejoiced in the beautiful HEA.
Loved this book.
This book is about two people discovering themselves through every other Wednesday night. I like a story not just sex. The other Noelle Adams books have more of a story with supporting sex. Not sex with very little story.
A fun romance about moving out of your comfort zone, falling in love, protecting your heart, learning to trust and building a relationship. A quick, fun, romantic read.
I’ve read this twice. Loved every page!!!!
I read most of her books find them entertaining and sometimes humorous
WOW, I thought this was a good, steamy book even for a grandma I’m going to read more of her books.
Loved it!!!
Thia book had a different twist and it was great. I really liked it
Really enjoyed this book!
Loved this book!
The story is a steamy romance, great summer read.
I read this book rather quickly the first time and easily fell in love with both Ash and Sean as well as the storyline. But afterward, I couldn’t get these characters and their story out of my head. So, I went back and reread it again, but this time taking my time to really absorb the story between the two main characters. In fact, that’s when I discovered the brilliance of what the author wrote as she essentially only had these two characters set in one location for the majority of the book that she had to create an original story from an old storyline around, using only their dialogue, thoughts and emotions to keep us readers engaged throughout. Noelle Adams is a new author to me, but I’ve already started another one of her books and you can bet I will continue to read more from her.
Easy reading and enjoyable. You can read the entire book in a day or on a long airplane ride.
