Sebastian is a mystery romance and the fifth book in the series, For The Love Of A Good Woman. Sebastian is a standalone, but the characters from the series appear throughout all the books.“Men. I will never understand the way your brains work.”“That’s probably a good thing, sweetheart.”“Don’t call me sweetheart. I’m not your sweetheart or any other endearment.”“Maybe I should call you … endearment.”
“Maybe I should call you Gingersnap.”
“I said not to call me anything. You can call me Maggie.”
I continued on as if she wasn’t speaking. “Of course, you don’t really have a ginger color. Maybe ‘Red’ would be better.”
“No.”
“No, you’re right. You’re not really a redhead either.”
“How about you stick with Maggie?”
“I could call you Freckles…”
“I don’t have freckles.”
“Yes, you do. Now that your makeup has worn off a little, I can see those cute freckles poking through.”
“What?” She threw down the visor and looked at herself in the mirror. “Oh my, God! Why didn’t you tell me I looked like this?” She started running her fingers through her hair and wiping the dirt from her face, which only cleaned her makeup off more, revealing that beautiful, creamy skin.
“Actually, you look about the same as you did this morning. Didn’t you take a shower last night?”
“I was busy trying not to be blown up.”
“Maybe I should call you Strawberry. You are a strawberry blonde, after all.”
“Can’t you just let this go?”
“The guys will be naming you if I don’t. Better to let me name you, otherwise you’ll end up with something like ‘Fire Crotch’. I glanced over at her and then down. “How do I know for sure that you’re really a redhead? Maybe you want to give me a sneak peek? See if the carpet matches the drapes?”
“Ugh.” She said infuriated. “You are so irritating. My name is Maggie. Not Red. Not Ginger. Not Strawberry or Fire Crotch. Maggie. Get it right or I’ll be giving you my own nickname.”
Stubborn. Bull-headed. Sexy as hell. That was Maggie. The woman that I was currently protecting. As owner of Reed Security, I didn’t really go into the field that often, but I was coerced into playing bodyguard for the trouble making reporter. She didn’t listen to a damn thing I said and was constantly putting herself in danger. This story she was investigating was going to get her killed if she didn’t learn to listen. More troubling than that was the fact that I was seriously attracted to her and was having a hard time keeping my hands off her. She was a distraction that I really needed to avoid if I wanted to keep us both alive.
Tall. Rugged. Lethal. Words that didn’t even begin to describe Sebastian, the man that was supposed to be protecting me. I found that I liked to push his buttons and get a reaction out of him. It kept things exciting. He also wasn’t bad at keeping me alive, which was a bonus when every other minute someone was trying to kill me. Now if only I could get him to stop resisting me. I seriously needed a way to let off some steam and he was the perfect distraction. Still, I had to stay focused and get to the bottom of this story before I ended up at the bottom of the river wearing a pair of cement shoes.

This is a wellwritten fastpaced actionpacked pageturner. I loved the storyline and the characters. Will definitely read more about Reed Security.

What temperaments and what fire!
Very good story, very well written. I loved these extremely courageous and bold characters to uphold what is right. They have a fiery temperament, sometimes excessive. The story lacks neither romance nor action. Very good mixture.
Maggie is a reporter and investigates the mayor of Pittsburgh when she discovers his financial malpractices. Very quickly this one tries to eliminate her. She’s under the protection of Sebastian and his security agency, but she’s extremely stubborn and unpredictable, the exact opposite of what Sebastian needs to protect her. Many actions, threats, some hot scenes and very good dialogues.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Such a fun, edge of your seat and steamy read. I loved the sass and witty banner throughout the book. A great story premise.

Sebastian is book five in the For the Love of a Good Woman series, and TBH he was one of the ones I was looking forward to reading about. Sebastian runs a security firm and is hired to protect Maggie, a reporter whose story may be the death of her. Maggie stumbled onto a huge story, and she would not be a good reporter if she didn’t try and get the scoop, even with bullets being fired all around her. When her boss hires Sebastian, the last thing Maggie needs is someone that is going to impede her progress with this story, but given no choice she is dragged along with Sebastian while he tries to keep her safe. The only issue is that Maggie doesn’t like to follow orders, and feels that she is just fine without him…. but is she really?
So this was a good story, with lots of action, drama, good naughty times. I loved seeing the whole gang, they bring lots of laughs when they are together. I give this 4 stars.
This is the 5th book in this phenomenal series, and is Sebastian and Maggie’s story. Sebastian is the owner of Reed Security, and prefers his office job to being out in the field. Maggie is a reporter, who will go to great lengths to investigate a story, and when she digs a little too deep she puts herself in serious danger. Sebastian ends up as her bodyguard in order to keep her protected. The chemistry between these two is explosive. This is a well written flawless story, which is filled with action, mystery, suspense and love. I was completely hooked and intrigued throughout, and cannot wait to read more from this talented author, and I highly recommend her work for all readers!
