Axel:
Playing for the Seattle Sockeyes is a dream come true. Yet in less than twenty-four hours, my life is a hot mess, and my dream has turned into a nightmare.
It all starts when I have a one-night stand with my teammate’s estranged wife, only I’m not aware she’s married, let alone his wife. Now she’s stalking me, my teammate hates me, and I’m madly attracted to his sister.
Not a situation … sister.
Not a situation I’d wish on anyone, especially me.

Unpredictable, sexy and addictive. It’s fitting that Blocked is a story about breaking rules. Author, Davenport and her characters, Alex and Geneva prove themselves to have that in common. Alex thrives on complicated and that doesn’t give off the best of impressions, but there is more to the man then the bad choices. He’s all heart when it comes to the things he wants most. That’s what makes him so endearing. Geneva brings out the best side of this tempting heartbreaker. Heart, heat and humor will have you hooked on this series.
Great series. Jami is the best!
This is another awesome book by Jami Davenport! Axel committed the cardinal sin by sleeping with another players wife…never mind the fact that she has a history of doing this, she is nuts and she did not tell him. Axel is a ladies man but he is not one that will sleep with anyones wife, let alone another teammate. In walks Geneva said teammates sister who he is wildly attracted to and she to him…there are a bunch of landmines waiting to be stepped on in the beginning of this relationship and makes this a hit!
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This is the second installment of the Scoring Series and also part of the Sockeyes series that Ms. Davenport created. Axel is a party boy, and the leader of the Puck Brothers, but wasn’t part of the initial cut for the Sockeyes. He gets called up, finally, and decides to blow off some steam while waiting for his teammates. Thus begins this tale. And what a tale it is. Geneva is Jock’s sister and is employed by the Sockeyes. She’s was raised with bikers and the sparks fly between the two. The highs and lows of any relationship in this world are explored and the heat is waaaay up there. I have all the feels for Jock even though he is not the main character in this one, but you’ll have to read it to find out why.
Just when his dreams are about to come true, a one night stand almost ruins Axel’s career and future. One bad decision almost costs him everything, and now he’s left trying to prove himself to not only his teammates, but to the woman who has captured his attention as well.
Geneva doesn’t have the best luck with men or relationships. She isn’t looking for a relationship, but Axel is more persistent than she gave him credit for. And, just maybe he isn’t the terrible guy she thinks he is and there is more to him than the first impression of him sleeping with her brother’s wife.
Jami Davenport scored a real winner with Blocked! Poor Axel is put through the wringer within just the first few pages, starting readers off with lots of drama and a hockey team and players on the edge needing to find a way to be cohesive if they intend to win. It shapes and defines Axel and I loved watching him have to work hard to make amends, which added so much character depth.
And Geneva is such a tough chick, with a soft and vulnerable core that few get to see! She goes on her own emotional journey as she learns to trust her instincts after a relationship gone very wrong which was amazing to read.
Together, Axel and Geneva are just a lot of fun. Witty dialogue and intense chemistry add to their opposites attract romance. The author does a fabulous job of creating relationships between the teammates as well. Jock and Axel have so much to overcome. The other puck brother’s also make appearances/ and, seriously, readers will be left asking questions about what is up with them! Add in a very psycho ex, and there is plenty of drama both on and off the ice.
Blocked was a really solid read and one I truly enjoyed. It was a real study in relationships as well as proving yourself and not being afraid to take chances to get what you really want out of life. 4.5 stars.
