This was not Fern Michael’s Best writing. The storyline could have been great but it was choppy. It jumped around and left too much to the imagination. There were intregal parts of the story missing.
I found the characters to be frustrating! There were parts that were inspirational but some were unbelievable.
The humanness of the characters facing the kind of challenges we all can appreciate in this world and how determined faith in oneself can entirely alter the landscape of that life, it’s never give up, never give up, A breakthrough is only a day away. Believe in your power to make the life you want.
Great story.
it was a little hard for me to read at times because of the abuse. As I watched Ruby’s character unfold I was taken by her strength with each turn she kept her chin up and kept her eyes focused on what was next for her.
Enjoyed reading.
There was much unnecessary bad language which spoiled the story for me. The story itself was very interesting and certainly had a very surprise ending which I thought made it worthwhile.
It was a good story but I had trouble staying as interested as in other books by this author.
A real downer. Almost every character was disfunctional.
Do your military research before writing and at least spell the bases correctly. Found most of the book quite depressing and outlandish. Would never have finished it if I didn’t make a habit of finishing every book I start.
Slow and depressing.
Although fictional, this story is written as if were a believable memoir about a spunky women who escapes a cruel upbringing and rises to the top through good times and bad.
LONG depressing, convoluted saga….didn’t like it.
enjoyed
I absolutely loved this book. I love Fern Michaels’ writing and this is one of her very best. I had difficulty putting it down. The characters were great. I cried, laughed and even hollered a few times. you will not be disappointed in this book.
The most memorable book I have ever read. It stayed with me long after I read it. I highly recommend to everyone.
I love it!!!!
I did not like the language and sexual content. Plenty of good writers out there who avoid both and write excellent books!
Any Fern Michaels book is great reading.
I thought it was very realistic until old age set in.
