Is a modern marriage of convenience the second chance they need or a road to heartache?Left widowed, destitute, and emotionally hurt, Mercy Grant doesn’t intend to remarry, much less to a known player like Ethan Echeverría. Never mind that he’s her one-time teenage crush and a longtime friend. But when her son, Stevie, needs an expensive surgery, risking her heart is a small price to pay for her … for her little boy’s happiness.
Ethan Echeverría leaves women before they have a chance to leave him the way his mother once abandoned him. Then his dad gives him an ultimatum: get married and become the owner of the family auto shop chain or stay single and lose it.
Considering Ethan has always cared for Mercy, getting married might result in more than ownership of the shops and a loving father for Stevie. It could be the second chance they need. Their feelings toward each other grow, but so does Mercy’s jealousy. When Ethan’s past crashes into his future, will she end up heartbroken and alone again?

After Cole’s death Mercy is struggling to raise her son. Mercy and Ethan have been best friends forever. When Stevie gets sick Ethan is there to help her. What Ethan’s father does for him is truly remarkable. Watching Mercy, Stevie and Ethan become closer will have you on the edge of your seat waiting to see what happens next. This book is hard to stop reading. You will feel God working throughout this whole book. I had the honor to review this book for the author for a honest review. I would give this book a higher rating than a five star review if I could.
A great Christian romance with heartwarming characters and a storyline that keeps you reading until the very end!
I love this small town, second chance, marriage of convenience romance. The characters , including a sweet child, are amazing. I love how it all came together and the sweetness of this clean story.
This is a sweet, clean story. Mercy & Ethan realize they love each other. Ethan helps her son, Stevie, get a heart surgery. I received this book free from the author. This is my voluntary review.
Season of Mercy is such a sweet book. It addresses many issues people face (trust, fear, etc) and how God’s love is more than enough to see us through the difficult times. The storyline of this book is beautiful and well done and the characters have depth and are completely realistic in their reactions and emotions.
I received a free copy of this book and have chosen to give my honest review.
I had a free copy of this book, but this is my voluntary and honest opinion. Alexa’s book was interesting and I enjoyed the characters. I liked the way she handled the trust issues between the main characters. I would recommend this book.
Mercy Grant’s son needs an expensive surgery. Ethan has money but needs a wife! You will enjoy this romance as old friends agree to a marriage of convenience even though Ethan is hoping for more! I recommend Season of Mercy to others.

Sweet Christian Second Chance Romance
This is a faith filled, sweet and clean romance. It is a second chance romance that successfully avoids the worst cliches of the genre. The plot is well done and riveting. While the ending is always assured, the journey to get there is wonderfully done. If I were to change anything, it would be to make the story longer by fleshing out the characters and the back story more. This author always writes high quality tales and this is no exception..I received this book (ARC) at no cost and chose to post my honest review.
A clean novelette, Season of Mercy is a gentle romance. When widowed Mercy’s son takes ill and requires surgery, it’s her long time friend Ethan that steps into the breach and proposes a marriage of convenience. The problem is that both Ethan and Mercy come with so much baggage, that it doesn’t take much to throw in mistrust and misunderstandings. Jealousy and mistrust in any relationship is hurtful. Sometimes it is earned, but when a person is judged before they even do anything wrong, it is hurtful and painful to all the parties. I found Mercy’s unwillingness to see that Ethan was going to extra mile for her to be unfair and I felt Ethan’s pain. I received a copy of this book as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.
Mercy and Ethan had been friends for a long time. Can a marriage of convenience bring them their happily ever after? Mercy believes in marriage forever, so after his husband ‘s death and their disastrous marriage she is not sure to marry Ethan even if it will help pay his son’s medical bills and Ethan keep the family business. Mercy need to learn trusting Ethan and let him show how much in love with her he is been for a while. A sweet love story about second chances in life.
I have loved all of the Season books by Alexa Verde, and this is one you cannot miss out on! A modern day marriage of convenience between old friends that is so sweet, I absolutely loved it!
