Fall in love with this heartfelt holiday romance between a down-on-his-luck Christmas tree farmer and a woman with plans to bring the merriment back to their town. Tis the season for love For single father Granger Fields, Christmas is his busiest and most profitable time of the year. But when a fire devastates the Merry Mountain Tree Farm, he fears the season won’t be holly or jolly unless he … Tree Farm, he fears the season won’t be holly or jolly unless he can convince free spirit Joy Benson to care for his two rambunctious daughters. Yet while Granger wants to focus on saving his business, Joy seems determined to shake up his family’s Christmas with her festive ideas and merry making.
Joy is counting down the days until she can open her own art gallery. Babysitting Abby and Willow will help her reach her goal, and when inspiration strikes, Joy convinces Granger that her craft classes can bring even more holiday cheer to the farm. As crowds return and Joy’s creative side flourishes, life with Granger and his girls begins to feel like home. But with Christmas coming nearer, can Joy convince Granger to open his heart again? Or will their newfound happiness be as fleeting as the newly fallen snow?
Once again Annie Rains has produced a magical story. This was a very enjoyable Christmas romance, I loved the characters in the book and thought the Christmas tree farm was a wonderful setting for the storyline. Such a sweet romance, a chance for love between two people that have been hurt in the past. If this story doesn’t get you into the Christmas spirit I don’t know what will. I definitely would suggest this book to others. I received an ARC from the publisher Forever a part of Grand Central Publishing and was under no obligation to leave a favorable review, all opinions expressed here are my own.
What a sweet holiday romance!
Granger has his hands full this holiday season, running his family’s Christmas tree farm and managing his two young daughters, so when the girls’ nanny has to retire unexpectedly, the only woman he can trust with their care is the local art teacher that they already know. Joy, however, despite her previous experience as a nanny while putting herself through art school, refuses to take on any job that isn’t in furtherance of her artistic career, and turns him down. Soon, however, it becomes clear that they need her more than she thought, so she agrees to provide daily after-school art lessons, and anything else that comes up, so she can be there for them.
This is a delightful friends-to-lovers story that is complicated by Joy’s career-first parents and Granger’s suddenly-reappearing ex-wife. I enjoyed the characters and the vivid storytelling style, and was gratified to see everything work out in the end. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Annie you always make my trip to Sweetwater Springs one I will never forget.
Granger is having to take his two daughters to there art class at the library when for the nanny this week because she has other things to do. Well Granger is found that Joy is a very attractive artist and has enjoyed being there with his girls. Well he gets a phone call from the nanny that she no longer going to be working for Granger and retires as of effectively now. Granger was not happy and didn’t not know what to do. So he had so much on his plate with the Christmas season time coming he didn’t know what to do. It was a going to help Joy because she watched the girls after school doing art projects and then she helped out with me The Christmas tree class on the farm. Things where going in a very happy with the farm.
Annie your Season of Joy was written well so the characters where matched great. I was able to read and enjoy the hayride like I was on it and smelled the Christmas scents. Annie I gave this one 5 stars because this one did cover the Season of Joy very well. Thank you for making Christmas to me alive when I read this book. Your a very amazing writer.

her own gallery after the first of the year.
Dating is not what she’s looking for.
As Granger & Joy, spend time together, they never expected to feel the way

Christmas is the season of miracles.
I loved it from the first page to the last!!
Wow! This book is just amazing! It is heartwarming, sweet, romantic, heartfelt, and really gets you in the holiday spirit! Whenever I picked up “Season of Joy”, I was whisked back to the small town of Sweetwater Springs, and felt like I was visiting with old friends, as well as meeting new ones!
This is the sixth book in Anne Rains “Sweetwater Springs” series, but can absolutely be read as a stand-alone novel too. Thus far I have read both the fifth and sixth books, and I can’t wait to go back and read the first four, along with the next book being released early next year! Ms. Rain brings the small-town to life in such an elegant way. You can really envision each and every location, taste each cup of tea and coffee, and you can also really feel the closeness of the people in the town. All of their emotions, wants, fears, desires, and thoughts are so well-written, and they all feel so incredibly real and authentic.
Joy is such a kind-hearted, warm, funny, and beautiful person. Though she has been broken-hearted in more than one way in the past, she pushes forward, and wishes to follow her heart in the direction she believes will lead her to happiness.
Granger, a single father of two beautiful daughters, is so kind, fun, and wants to do what is best in order to protect his family. He has also been left blind-sighted and broken-hearted, and hopes to once again be able to open his heart in the future (even if, in the beginning, he does not know it himself yet).
(Possible Spoilers!)
I found myself rooting for Joy and Granger from the start. They truly bring out the best in one another, and are able to understand each other in ways others simply cannot. Their flirty banter is so sweet! The growth of their feelings for one another is so beautiful to read, and the love they both share for Willow and Abby is just stunningly written and shown.
Also, Tin and Chelsea are so adorable and written with the perfect personalities for each of them! I just love them! I also really like how Ms. Rain ties everything together with various characters throughout the book, and, may I just say, I love Granger’s family so very much. And Aunt Darby and Ray…and many more!
If you enjoy Contemporary Romance, and / or Holiday Romance novels, I highly recommend this book!! I absolutely could not put it down, and so many moments had me simply swooning, and smiling from ear to ear!
Thank you so much to Forever (Grand Central Publishing) for sending me the ARC of this book, I just loved it! All opinions expressed in this review are my own.
Please Note: This book does mention some heavier topics, and I believe they are handled with the upmost respect.

Review Book.
Every trip to Sweetwater Springs is a little sweeter than the one before it. I have been waiting for what feels like forever for Granger to get his HEA, and boy does he deserve it- a single dad whose wife walked away. Granger could use a win.
I think Granger and Joy give each other the stability and the belonging that the other needed. There were definitely times that I wanted to smack them both over the head and tell them to get it together but thankfully they eventually figured it out.
I’m not sure who’s left to get a HEA in this small town but I can’t wait to visit again!!
After a fire took out half of their tree crop Granger Fields is left more than a little worried about how they will recoup the sales they lost out on due to the fire. Selling Christmas trees during the holidays is their families livelihood, it keeps them afloat for the whole year. He has to do something else to drum up more business on the farm during the holidays.
That’s where local artist and his daughter’s new nanny Joy Benson comes in, when she offers to start doing art and craft classes at the farm things start to look promising… and not just on the farm. Sparks start to fly when these two come together for the sake of business. Question is will it just stay business, or become something more?
Season of Joy introduces readers to Granger Fields and the woman with the perfect idea that saves his families tree farm, Joy Benson. These to are brought together by a business idea, but the more time they spend with one another, the more they realize they have a connection. One that goes deeper than just a friendship. But neither of them are in the right mindset for love, nor do they want to make time for it. But they don’t really get a choice in the matter when their hearts start to take over. This is the perfect feel good holiday romance, it has just a bit of drama and angst to keep things engaging, but the rest is all heart and emotion. The kind that leaves your heart skipping a beat and a smile on your face! Highly recommend you add this one to your holiday reading list, it’s bound to leave you heart nice and toasty!
I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased opinion.
You can never go wrong when you pick a book by this talented author, and this one proves it.
Granger Fields is a single Dad of 2 sweet girls. Girls he adores and will do anything for them. His family own Merry Mountain Tree Farm. A farm that this year is going to struggle since last year an accidentally started fire, destroyed many trees.
Joy Benson is an artist and teachers an art class which the 2 girls attend. From afar there is an attraction between the two, but it isn’t until Granger needs help with the girls , that a friendship begins.
Keeping things casual is not easy. Love , like life is messy, complicated , and risky. Add trust issues to the mix and you know that a heartbreak is likely to occur.
Aside from an engaging plot, it’s a story about family dynamics or lack thereof. About how our past affects our present and possibly our future. But above all, about how love can heal and fill our hearts with hope and new beginnings.
This was another winner in this endearing series.
I was entrusted a copy of this book by Netgalley. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
This was the most delightful, positive and happy romance that I have read this year! With just enough conflict to keep me interested and just enough romance to tantalize me, SEASON OF JOY is a book that started out my holidays with a jingle and a tingle. Joy Benson has been hurt by love and is not looking for another entanglement. What she does want to do is start her own art gallery. But without the encouragement of her parents, Joy has to strike out on her own to find a way to fund it. Enter Granger Fields, a single father of two who needs someone to watch his two young daughters while he works on the family’s Christmas tree farm. Joy agrees to give the two darling little girls art lessons and so the real story takes off. I absolutely loved the independence and self-confidence that Joy displayed in her own abilities. With parents too self-absorbed to even notice how talented she was, Joy’s determination was admirable. I think that my favorite characters were the two young girls, Abby and Willow. Abby was precocious and Willow was so needy of a mom that my heart just went out to that little sweet heart. All of the characters were portrayed so realistically that it was like I was watching a well-made movie. (Attention, Hallmark! This book would make a great Christmas movie!) The plot had just enough twists in it for me to want to keep reading until the satisfying and happy conclusion. I really enjoyed the setting of the Sweetwater Springs and the Merry Mountain Christmas Tree Farm. Visiting with old friends who had been in previous books was like a visit home again for me; there was Jack and Dawanda and Emma…lots of favorites. Although this book is part of a series, I feel that it can be enjoyed as a Christmas standalone. I highly recommend this feel-good book that will start out your season with positive vibes, ready to decorate, celebrate and ring in the joyful season!

What a sweet & moving Christmas story in Sweetwater Springs. I have loved Granger in all the previous books in the series, how hard he works with his parents on their Christmas tree farm as well as raising his 2 little girls by himself. I was so happy when Granger & Joy started spending time together. Joy had so much fun giving his daughters art lessons which helped her as she was dealing with a painful past. It was also fun catching up with other characters.
Season of Joy is a new stand alone in Annie Rains Sweetwater Springs series. A single parent Christmas romance just right for the holiday season.
Last Christmas Joy had her heartbroken and isn’t looking to repeat that feeling anytime soon. She chooses to ignore the little crush she has on single dad off two girls, Granger Fields. When he offers her an arrangement that will have her essentially being a nanny to the girls but allowing her to reach her goals as an artist she can’t give up on the opportunity. The situation has them spending a lot of time together and getting to know each other causing both their crushes to grow. When their hearts get involved with they both end up hurt when the kids get involved and pasts become present.
Season of Joy was a sweet holiday romance. Joy is an artist to her core, loving and caring in all she does. Granger is a hardworking father who is trying to keep his family’s business alive and still be there for his two girls. There are plenty are heartwarming moments between Joy and the girls and swoony moments between Joy and Granger. However, things are far from perfect for them. Granger’s daughter doesn’t take too kindly to Joy replacing her mother, Joy’s trust issues have her thinking the worst, and Granger’s so out of practice when it comes to women that he repeatedly says the wrong thing. Both adults in the story are trust issues when it comes to relationships that they both have to overcome for them to even have a chance at something lasting.
If you like you holiday romances low of the steam , high on the sweet, and with a good dose of complicated then Season of Joy by Annie Rains will be worth the read.
Joy is an artist (not a starving artist, mind you) looking for the perfect place to open a gallery while teaching art, creating art, and volunteering. But two of her students have a handsome single father… and that’s all we really need to say 😉
Things I like about this book:
– Joy knew her self-worth. She didn’t let anyone tell her she wasn’t an artist, couldn’t make a living as an artist, or needed another job. She didn’t do favors just because a guy was cute, and she didn’t let him get away with being an occasional @$$.
– I love the setting! Our male lead is a Christmas tree farmer. Could we HAVE a better holiday romance profession? I picture the Brawny Paper Towel guy… with a pine scent…
– The family diversity in this book is great. We have Joy’s relationship with her absent doctor parents, and then Joy’s aunt finding love after a life of chosen singledom. Then we have single dad Graham, whose wife left him, and his basically perfect parents. Lots of examples of different types of families!
Things that I wish were different:
– Graham just could not keep screwing up. Every time he a Joy took one step forward he would do something to make them take two steps back. I get it–there has to be a hurdle, or we wouldn’t have a book. But Graham’s behavior bordered on annoying, and I was hesitant to give him chance after chance.
– I didn’t understand why these characters were getting together NOW. They had lived in the same town for years. Graham’s wife left seven years prior. They had known each other for months before the story started. I just could have used more of an explanation or plot shift.
Overall, this is an adorable feel-good Christmas read. If you love small town romances, holiday cheer, and single dads this is definitely a good choice.

Thank you to NetGalley and Forever Pub for my free eARC in exchange for an honest review!
I received an ARC from Forever, Grand Central Publishing through NetGalley for an honest review. This book is inspiring because things had been going wrong in Joy and Granger’s life but once they met, things began to change. Oh, it wasn’t smooth sailing but it was a delight to see how things started improving, not only for Joy and Granger but for others as well.
The people in this story became my friends and the community spirit reminded me of Christmas seasons in the past. I loved everything about this book but what happened between Joy and her parents was a wish and a dream come true.
I hope you read this uplifting story that is not only the magic of the season but a reminder that life takes us to unexpected places and gives us unexpected feelings, and after reading this book, it will enrich the lives of those around us and might even make them stop and see things differently. Yes, there is magic in the air.
Love this town. This book made me want sweaters, hay rides, crafts, and Christmas trees. Granger is a single parent, and Joy is an artist who steps in to help.
Loved the book from page one to the end. It’s a must read Christmas book!!!
What a wonderful book! It is full of Christmas joy! This is a heartwarming story that will keep you turning the pages to see what happens next. I loved the return visit to Sweetwater Springs at Christmas time and the sweet romance and emotions that makes all of Annie Rains books a winner. I highly recommend this book. Thank you Forever (Grand Central Publishing) via NetGalley for the ARC copy of this book. All opinions expressed are my own.
Granger family owns a Christmas tree farm and this year he needs miracle, part of farm was devastated in fire and his father doesn’t want to add ride as a attraction.
Joy is an artist, whose parent are disappointed that she choose this profession.
She is helping Granger with his two daughters, during holidays.
The more time he spends with her, the more he opens up about future.
Loved this story.
This was an absolutely delightful Christmas story which I thoroughly enjoyed reading. I always enjoy reading romance stories but when it takes place at Christmas time, it’s that much better:) Annie Rains has done an excellent job of writing Joy and Granger’s story.
I adore Granger’s character, he’s such a wonderful father to his two little girls and I love his enthusiasm on how to save the family Christmas Tree Farm. As for Joy, she’s such a delight with a big heart and is exactly what Granger needs in his life. Both have personal problems which complicates their relationship but oh what fun to see them strive for that HEA!!
I also enjoyed the bonus novella “The Christmas Wish” by Melinda Curtis, a very heartwarming story.
I received an ARC of this book via NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Sometimes tragedy can lead to a good thing. Single dad Granger Fields discovers this when the fire at his Merry Mountain Tree Farm leads him to Joy Benson. Joy and Granger make a great couple and great family with Abby and Willow. This is a super romance story. I really enjoyed traveling along with Joy and Granger on their road to a Happily Ever After.
I really love this cover!
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Any time we get to return to Sweetwater Springs, you know it’s going to be a great time and this holiday novel was certainly no exception. It was filled with wonderful characters, romance and plenty of holiday cheer.
Granger Fields is a Christmas tree farmer who runs the family tree farm with his parents and he’s also a single father of two adorable little girls. This year things aren’t going to be as they’ve always been due to a recent fire that claimed part of their tree inventory which means they are going to have to get creative at Merry Mountain Tree Farm if they are going to make ends meet this year.
All Joy Benson has ever wanted to be is an artist. The only person in her family that has supported her is her Aunt Darby. Her parents are both doctors and they would prefer that she get a “real” job instead of trying to make a go of her art.
When it turns out that Granger needs someone to watch his girls after school when their nanny is forced to retire, Joy becomes the leading candidate. It will help her to have some additional income to make her dream of owning an art studio happen quicker than it would have otherwise. As the girls begin to fall in love with Joy, Granger seems to be following a similar path. Will the hurt that both of them have suffered in past relationships cause theirs to fizzle out before it really begins?
Both Granger and Joy had things they had to overcome in this book, but the good news is they took that challenge and bettered themselves in order to be better for the other person. They knew it had to start with themselves. I enjoyed all of the supporting characters in this book as well; they were such a great bunch, whether we are talking people or animals!
If you are in the mood for some holiday cheer, pick this one up for sure!
