Such a fabulous installment in this swoony romance series – I Foster’s Seaside!
5 amazing stars for this Seaside flirt – a quick short story. Cree and Brock have been characters in several of the Melissa Foster’s Seaside Summer stories. I was so excited to finally get to read their story. Cree is a free-spirit and Brock is a man with the plan kind of guy. Cree has family in the Dark Knight’s motorcycle club, tying this story to the Whiskey Brother’s series. The wonderful Justin Whiskey appears in this book as Cree’s protector and “older brother”. There is lots of confusion on Brock’s part about Cree and Justin’s relationship but that gets cleared up quickly. Cree and Brock are one smokin’ hot couple. Once Brock realizes Justin is in the brother zone he wastes no time claiming Cree.
SEASIDE SERENADE by Melissa Foster is book 9 in the Seaside Summers and 8 in the Love in Bloom Series. This is the story of Brock Garner and Cree Redmond. I thought his could be a standalone book.
Cree and Brock are attracted to each other but a misunderstanding stands in their way until it cleared up. This was a cute romance that was a joy to read…no real drama. Ms. Foster is one of my favorite writers so I always know I am getting a great story by her.
Quick and Easy Read.
I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads, so here is my review.
This is a Flirt or a short story that is written about Brock and Cree. Brock likes Cree and even though he thinks she has a boyfriend, he hires her to work at his boxing club.
Cree likes Brock but she doesn’t want him to know. So they flirt around with each other and the chemistry is off the charts hot between them.
I love when I get to revisit this group of friends and family, it always makes me smile and wish I had a group of friends like them. Cree and Brock finally get their HEA and the explosion between them almost sets my kindle on fire, and the ending is perfect. I only wish it would have been longer. I love the Seaside Summers gang and can’t wait for more.

I love all things Melissa Foster! Her characters are fun and relatable and I love that she ties all her characters together from book to book so you always keep up with what’s going on in their lives.
What I loved so much about Seaside Serenade, and yes, I loved being back in a world with so many fictional friends, and yes, I loved seeing Cree and Brock finally find love with the one who’d been holding their heart for YEARS…BUT, I just loved that Foster was able to drop us into the story and it came SO alive. For a novelette, DAMN this book was packed with so much story, so much emotion, so much of getting to know these two characters, but it just flowed. WOW! I rarely feel like a novelette is long enough, but this was such a packed story!
Now onto Brock and Cree….their chemistry is OFF THE CHARTS! They were burning up the pages with the sparks flying every time they so much as looked at one another. We get to see so many past Seaside characters, without it feeling like I was bombarded with too many names, BUT, it did make me want to go back and re-read their stories again and again. Cree was FABULOUS!!! A heroine after my own heart. Tattooed, a bit clumsy and quite shy, but has so much personality for such a small person! I loved that we got to see more of Cree, who is the daughter of Viper and Chicki from Fosters Whiskeys series, AND, we get to see my FAVORITE character from Bayside Escape, Justin Wicked, who I hear is getting his own book soon….YES YES YES PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Wickeds are cousins to the Whiskeys so you can ONLY imagine the sexy bikers that will be featured in that series!
Now onto Brock…HOT DAMN I love Brock. I have loved him from Seaside Nights and Seaside Embrace, he is the oldest Garner sibling and he is just a big-hearted, former boxer and YUM…all I have to say is YUM! He didn’t want to step on any toes when he thought that Cree was taken but he might learn the truth and all bets are off! Brock can serenade me ANY TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (AND…the song at the party…BE STILL MY HEART!!!!!!!!!!!)
That is all. Grab it. Read it. Love it.

Seaside Serenade was the ninth book in Melissa Foster’s Seaside Summer series. It was a short novella focused on Cree and Brock.
We met Cree Redmond and Brock Garner back in book five, Seaside Nights (Skye/Sawyer) and they’ve been in the background ever since. Brock crushed on Cree but she had a boyfriend. Brock would never encroach on another guy’s girl so he admired from afar.
Seaside Serenade was a (very) quick novella and was a mixture of sexy and sappy sweet. I loved both characters and would have loved to see them developed more and had their own full length story.
All in all, as novellas go, it was short, sweet and fun. Foster included many of our series favorites as secondary characters and even prepped us for more with Justin Wicked. Foster has so many series going that I’m not sure what’s next but I totally can’t wait.
We’ve been reading about Brock and Cree in a few of the other Melissa Foster books and I’m so glad to see them finally have their own story. Brock has always thought that Cree was already in a relationship which kept her off limits. As much as he’d like to go for Cree, he’d never encroach on someone else’s territory. Cree working at the gym and asking him to give her boxing lessons just about does him in. Until he finds out he was wrong and Cree is actually single and just as attracted as he is. Then the gloves come off and the sparks fly!!! This was a short story that really packed a punch! Love catching up with everyone in Seaside!
A steamy short story. If you haven’t read Melissa Foster before, this is a fun introduction. You aren’t going to get as in-depth as you would a full length, but I still found it enjoyable!
This is a great, little flirt from Melissa Foster as part of her ongoing Love in Bloom: Seaside Summers series that brings you up to date with some of the secondary characters in her books. This time, it’s Brock and Cree’s turn 🙂 If you’ve read any of the previous books in the series, they will be familiar to you but it’s not necessary to enjoy this novella as a standalone. Cree has taken a job working in Brock’s gym and they are both attracted to each other. Due to a misunderstanding in each other’s relationship status there is some harmless flirting but nothing else. And then FINALLY on Valentine’s Day – the confusion is cleared up, they are able to be truthful about their mutual interest in each other and boy do the sparks fly! A fun, quick read that will not disappoint!
Sparks fly!
This is a very fast read, and as such, don’t expect the same level of character development and story as with a full length Melissa Foster novel. This is the story of Cree and Brock. Brock has had a crush on Cree since meeting her, but he understands she is in a relationship with Justin, so he is the consummate gentleman. Cree also has a crush on Brock, and she doesn’t understand why Brock won’t recognize her interest! It’s not until Brock insists she sing with him at the bar on Valentine’s Day, that he finally recognizes Cree is NOT with Justin (just a friend). From that point forward, sparks fly, and the two explore their mutual attraction.
Although this was an enjoyable, fast read, I believe I would have enjoyed it more as a full length novel with all the feels that provides. I felt this went from 0 to 100 very quickly, and I enjoy a slower burn. However, this is still a wonderful novella that any Melissa Foster fan will enjoy.
I received an ARC copy of this book and am voluntarily reviewing it. All opinions expressed in this review are my own and given freely.
This is such a sweet story. Both Cree and Brock want each other, but he believes she’s taken. Typical guy wants what he can’t have. Who will make the first move? Will the other be receptive? What happens in seaside, stays in seaside …
Seaside Serenade Wonderful Flirt that has all the things you have come to expect from Melissa Foster. Sexy fun with great chemistry. Cree and Brocks have fought the attraction to each other until Cree decides to get his attention and she does. I felt like this story gave you everything you would want in a short story, a HEA. I really look forward to seeing them more in future books.
This smoking hot short story happens over Valentine’s Day weekend.
Brock is a local boxing champion, with the body to prove it. Cree works for Brock and would love to work his body over. Problem? Neither one knows how the other one feels.
This book is one of the best books I have read in a long while and talk about hot! I didn’t know which one would burst into flames first, the book or me. Wow!
This is a short story, called a “flirt”, that is just one weekend, but it has all the chemistry, love, steamy hotness, and wonderful story that you always see in Melissa Foster’s books, but it is a short read. If you have read some of her other books in the Love in Bloom series, it is wonderful seeing familiar faces, and if you haven’t, it is fine. You will still enjoy it. Good things can come in little packages. I loved it!
Ms. Foster gave us another quick flirt with Seaside Serenade. This is a quick easy ready but it draws you in just as much as any full length Foster story. I love how invested you feel in Brock and Cree in such a short amount of time. Brock and Cree are explosive together and without the drama, what more could you ask for?
Short, super fast read! Great to make a quick visit to see the gang from Seaside and see Brock and Cree get together! Cree thinks Brock’s not really interested and Brock thinks Cree’s “taken” so when Cree decides to go for it and see if Brock is interested the chemistry is just wow! Some of the gang are shocked, some just surprised it took that long! Great read! I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving my review.
Steamy, sweet hotness!!
This delicious little flirt is a hot, steamy, quick read. Cree & Brock ignite the pages. Glimpses of some of our other Seaside couples. The wonderful Melissaverse is always enjoyable and ever expanding. I received a review copy. I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Seaside Serenade by Melissa Foster
A Seaside Summer Short Story – Love in Bloom Series #9
Short sweet love story that sees boxer and business owner Brock Garner and Cree Redmond finally get together…after both being attracted but not acting on the attraction for what felt way too long to both of them. Loved the two together.
Thank you to the author for the ARC – This is my honest review.
4-5 Stars
This was such a fun short read set in the Seaside series featuring Jana’s brother Brock & Cree. I loved that their story took place over Valentine’s Day & that they stopped tiptoeing around each other & finally got the HEA. It was fun visiting with the Seaside group again too.
