Completely enjoyed this thrilling underwater fantasy filled with danger, magic, mystery and heart pounding action…. it is a fight to survive in a world that is unique and engaging. Was so entertained though this entire adventure that I found I read the whole thing in one night.
Great read, well written with a great plot and characters. There is suspense, action, and drama. This book starts 300 yrs. After Disney’s Ariel. Cylee has some hard decisions to make, we have to see if those decisions were the best or not. I can’t wait to read the next to book. I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book from Booksprout
I love a good mermaid read and this story did not let me down! Lots of action, suspense and drama this descendant of Ariel is a fun and fab character who makes mistakes just like the rest of us! This is a sweet story.

Cylee is a mermaid princess longing to visit land and see what things are like topside. Her family is actually descended from Ariel by about 300 years. She and her friends are racing for their chance to visit land. She plans on winning for sure. Things get complicated when she and her best friend end up in the wrong place when training. Can Cylee find a way to fix everything and still win the race?
I enjoyed this and am looking forward to the next book.
The story definitely had me started reading just draws you in and left with awe until the end. Complex ever changing relationship in this easy read
I really enjoyed this underwater fantasy full of mermaids and evil queens. It was unique and action-packed. I was entertained throughout the whole
book. The author created a beautiful and vivid underwater world, that I envisioned being a part of.
Kristin D. Van Risseghem’s Seascape (Escape Chronicles Book 1) is a wonderful tale for everyone who has ever loved tales of mermaids. It’s lead character Cylee is an actual descendent (300 years later) of the classic “Little Mermaid” (though Disney’s Ariel is the better version to be thinking of). Just like her Great Aunt Ariel she Kong’s for a landscape adventure only in her time it’s possible for those who win on a series of races. Sure enough that’s what she goes for – but of course things don’t go smoothly. Instead we end up with a wonderful adventure for Cylee. I loved this story, her friends, a potential love triangle for her between her friend and potentially much more, Lore, and an unnamed green-eyed guy from her dreams, and even the “big baddy” character, Queen Ceto, the beautiful and evil sorceress of the seas. This perfectly plotted story is beautifully written and a totally fun start of what looks to be a great overarching story arc. But for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review to my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises – the book definitely deserves it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that the book is most definitely one to read, it is easy to highly recommend. I’m definitely looking forward to the next book in this series.
This is a new series by one of the authors that I love to read. This book has such a unique and interesting start as well as it is 300 years after Disney’s Ariel. Cylee is a descendant of Ariel and just like Ariel has dreamed of walking on land. Plenty of action, suspense and drama have caused Cylee to make some tough choices and we will have to wait till the next book to see just exactly what those choices have done to her Landscape trip
