The highly anticipated second novel in the new Searching For series from Jennifer Probst, “one of the most exciting breakout novelists” (USA TODAY)–a spin-off of the bestselling Marriage to a Billionaire series–featuring a sexy matchmaker, and the rocket scientist who becomes her special project… The up-and-coming matchmaking agency Kinnections is the hottest thing to hit Verily, New … Verily, New York–just like Kennedy Ashe, social director for the service she owns with her two best girlfriends. A coach, consultant, and cheerleader rolled into one super-sizzling package, Kennedy creates dream dates, encourages singles to shine, and never refuses a challenge–not even Nate Ellison Raymond Dunkle, rocket scientist, nerd extraordinaire, and Kennedy’s newest client.
Kennedy vows to work her magic and transform this hot mess in a lab coat with a disastrous relationship track record into the most wanted man on the Verily dating scene. If only she could turn the wand on herself…though she radiates confidence and sex appeal, Kennedy harbors deep-seated insecurities from a tormented past and lifelong struggle with weight issues. When she realizes she and Nate are cut from the same cloth and might be perfect together, can Kennedy learn to let her heart lead the way? Or will her fears sentence her to the sidelines as Nate finds love–with someone else?more
This is my favorite book in the series. Nate and Kennedy are simply amazing together.
Kennedy is one of the owners of Kinnections matchmaking agency with her two best friends. She has a difficult past. She is also quirky and fun.
Nate is a rocket scientist and he is really bad at dating. He’s really an amazing and confident guy. Nate is ready to settle down.
One of my favorite scenes with Nate and Kennedy are on golf course and Nate’s frustration over Kennedy’s perfect shots. I really love the way Kennedy and Nate are getting to know each other and becoming friends, potentially more. The more they spend time together the more there are feelings involved. They both have insecurities and don’t believe the other one will love back. I love how honest they are with each other and that they have plenty in common.
I loved the nerd story. Really enjoyable with an amazing banter.
Audio Review from 2015
This one started off a little slower than the first one but once the rhythm was established the pace was picked up
This is book two of seven over all (five novels and two novellas)
Nate (Ned) is a Aerospace Engineer (nerd) that needs help from Kennedy at Kinnections with polishing up his look and refining his dating skills. Nate just wanted to settle down and find a wife. He wanted someone to share his life with. Nate worked to much and didn’t know how to talk to the ladies. He was awkward but I think it was because he took advice from the wrong guy. He listened to his brother Connor and what works for some doesn’t work for all. He cracked me up with his bluntness and the way he handled Kennedy. I loved seeing the way he would get Kennedy to do things she wouldn’t normally do. Even though she tried to tell him no, he talked her into it anyways. When he is with her you wouldn’t know that he needed help with his dating skills. He is so romantic and says things that makes your heart flutter. Over the course of the time he is with Kinnections Nate realizes that his perfect is right beside him. I don’t think Kennedy stood a chance, even though she fought it. I think she knew Nate was her perfect match. Watching Kennedy play off her feelings for Nate and continue to try to set him up with a female client made you want to scream at her to wake up and realize she is in love with him. There was a little back and forth in this book. But for me it wasn’t enough to where it got annoying.
If you’re wondering what to kinda compare this to. For me it was a little “Can’t buy me love”. The nerd makeover in this book reminded me of that movie. He was so good looking under the glasses and pocket protector. This is a good thing. I loved that movie! Hello Patrick Dempsey *swoon* <3
Searching for Perfect was absolutely perfect! All authors should look to Jennifer to see how to succeed at doing a spin off series. She nailed it with these books. The icing on the cake for me was the cameos in this book. I love picking up a Jennifer Probst book. I know I am getting a good story from beginning to end. Her books have always stayed with me and become instant favorites of mine. I give it a 4, only because it isn’t as strong as some of her other books are.
