This is another fantastic book in Dale Mayer’s “SEALs of Honor” series. Nelson Brown and his fellow SEAL, Taylor, are looking for Elizabeth Etchings’ missing brother Chris, who is also a SEAL. Since the Navy believes he is AWOL, they are in no hurry to spend the time and/or money to locate him. However, Elizabeth believes he is in trouble and is running for his life.
The Navy gives Nelson and Taylor four days to hunt for Chris, and they refuse to allow Elizabeth to accompany them. Of course, Elizabeth ignores them and makes her own way to Ensenada where Chris was last seen. While there, they discover the murder of another American seaman. As a result, the Navy now changes Chris’s disappearance from AWOL to murder suspect.
Dale Mayer is a skilled suspense writer who comes up with many unusual twists and turns as Elizabeth and the two SEALs wander through the dangerous areas in Mexico. There they are openly staying on the radar of the local “riffraff” who want them to go home or to die.
I love the relationship between Nelson, Elizabeth and Taylor. For Nelson and Taylor, this trip is just another mission for them. Every obstacle is just another hurdle in their latest assignment. The way they talk and act as they handle each obstacle reminds me of the interactions in the old detective shows in the 1960s.
Even when they discover Elizabeth has secretly joined them, neither of the men complains about how much her existence has added to the difficulty of their job. They just treat her as another companion even though they now must split their time in half since someone has to always stay and watch her.
As the book progresses, we slowly realize that an attraction is growing between Elizabeth and Nelson. Yet, this never crosses over, or interferes with, the working relationship between the three main characters.
This is another intriguing and suspenseful book by Dale Mayer.
Suspenseful from the start and full of tense action and danger, a few twists and turns building to a highly charged finally. Wonderful characters both good and bad surprisingly. Very edgy and fast moving and at times you aren’t sure if the bad guys are all bad, so it keeps you guessing. I love getting stuck in to a story that is interesting and has lots going on but not manic and this definitely fit that, it took me away from real life and let me lose myself in what was going on in the story. Characters were easy to like and even feel a little bit sorry for some. Fantastic read and this series never gets stale, new characters joining the group bring fresh ideas and problems. Loved it.

Her brother is missing…When Elizabeth’s brother goes missing, she asks Nelson, a Navy SEAL, for help. Elizabeth knows that her brother wouldn’t desert the Navy and NCIS is no longer investigating. Nelson and Taylor plan to go to Mexico alone where her brother was last seen. Elizabeth is not going to be left behind and follows them. What Elizabeth doesn’t realize is that, she puts herself in danger. I received a free copy of this book from the author through Booksprout. This is my honest and voluntarily given review. This was a good suspenseful book with a twist at the end that I didn’t expect. I really enjoyed reading this book.
Nelson was tasked with finding Skunk, an old friend who has gone missing. Skunk’s sister Elizabeth was certain her brother was in danger and could not leave the mystery alone. She joined Nelson in Mexico to assist in the search but little did Nelson realise what adventures were in front of them!
This is a very well written and entertaining story, full of content and one I thoroughly enjoyed
Oh my stars.. Another fantastic book in the series.
Strong alpha males that are protective and swoon worthy are the best.
Nelson has his hands full with Elizabeth. She is worried about her missing brother, and not thinking clearly. Elizabeth has gotten herself put firmly on the radar of a couple of criminals, just by sharing a few musical minutes with the head bad guy. Good thing Nelson convinces her to dial it back.
Loved this book.. The whole series is definitely worth reading!

Elizabeth is a mechanical engineer, a torpedo developer, and a source of irritation to Navy SEAL Nelson. Her brother, a Navy seaman is AWOL in a Mexican port of call. Now things get complicated, intriguing, and the tale has many unexpected twists. I opened the book last night and finished it today. I kept mentally thinking about where Dale Mayer was going with the plot only to discover another twist, another turn, a wow and did not see that coming. Another very great tale (and the trailer for the next book left me eager for the next installment). This is a stand alone book but you are missing so much if you do not read the early books (I have many, many times).

As always Dale writes a fantastic book. To me this book is different from the beginning books I’ve read. But still a good read just the same. Nelson has to help this engineer to find her brother who has gone missing. Well, while in Mexico, she attracts interest from someone and it’s not good. Of course she had to go along and help Nelson and Taylor find her brother. Why can’t women (this one anyway) do what she was told and not cause more trouble. You’ll find danger, death and love in this book. HEA.
