Nothing is what it seems … ever … imagine.
Elizabeth might have had a hand in now sending two men to Baja to look for her brother, but she will not stay behind. Her brother is in danger … and he’s the only family she has left.
It doesn’t take long for Nelson to realize that Elizabeth has caught the eye of someone who rules that corner of the world. She’s now in jeopardy too—possibly more than her brother. Keeping her safe moves up Nelson’s priority list.
Until both issues merge, and everything goes south …

This suspenseful story takes us south of the border into Mexico as the search is on to find Elizabeth’s brother, Skunk, who has gone missing. There is a different mix of characters – most of them bad. It’s a good thing Elizabeth had Nelson and Taylor to watch over her as she is pretty naïve about the people they dealt with. There are some surprising twists along the way. Looking forward to reading Taylor’s story.
Fast paced and full of suspense. There’s plenty of action and the plot is engaging. The characters are great, even the bad ones. There is something about this series that keeps the reader coming back for more. There is something new about every story. Nelson may be my new favorite.
Not going to spoil the exciting plot here. Just can’t believe that my heart is still pounding. SO much going on here. Everyone is at risk. And first impressions can be all wrong sometimes.
WOW!
This latest book in this series sucks you in from the very beginning! A single, beautiful woman traveling alone to Mexico makes this story intense from the very start and keeps you glued to every page. Who does that?
Elizabeth is out to find her brother, Skunk, who went missing from the Navy and NCIS is not very forthcoming with information nor do they seem concerned about Skunk’s safety. Skunk’s Navy friend, Nelson is tasked, along with his Teammate, Taylor, with helping to investigate Skunk’s disappearance. I enjoy how Elizabeth engages Nelson and Taylor when she finds them in a seedy little Mexican bar trying to be discreet and blend in. Then we have trouble. This story winds up fast when Chelsea, the local Queen of the streets, takes an instant dislike of Elizabeth and encourages them all to get out of town.
Things get very dangerous very fast when King, the local crime lord, gets involved and takes a shine to Elizabeth while Queen gets very jealous. In this place, people think nothing of murdering someone to make them feel better. Henchmen, goons and intimidation are the norm as well as power and control.
I enjoyed this very fast-paced, action-packed page-turner combined with the sweet, naïve and positive attitude of Elizabeth knowing her brother is an innocent man. Some surprises along the way but there are also HOT heroes to help soothe and entertain us as we devour this one. I loved it!
This is book 21 in the SEAL’s of Honor series and it features Nelson and Elizabeth. Her brother is missing and he just happens to be an old friend of Nelsons. Elizabeth enlists Nelsons help but will not sit home and wait for news. She’s going to Mexico to look for her brother despite being told not to. Nelson and Taylor end up having to protect her AND look for her brother at the same time. I love that their attraction was gradual. It happenEd slowly throughout the story. Her naivety and stubbornness were quite irritating at times.
The action and adventure were fantastic. The story line and characters were awesome. I can’t wait for more!
I was kindly provided this book as an ARC; in exchange for my honest review. This is book 21 in the SEALs Of Honor series. This book revolves around Nelson and his “sidekick Taylor; and Elizabeth.
This is a very looong series; with several connected series. I would say it was close to as good/great as the previous books in series. Elizabeth’s brother Chris (Skunk) goes missing while on shore leave in Ensenada. She contacts his Navy friend Nelson to assist her in locating her brother; the Navy is convinced he’s abandoned his commission and are pursuing a potential court martial. This story is romance light (again I really have trouble with “insta-love.”), but seemed more of a suspense-mystery story. There were something’s brought up in the story (like Elizabeth’s fathers suspicious and untimely death; that are just left hanging. Other than that it’s a fast and easy read, limited action and violence (at the end), and again romance light – take what you want from that.
I’d give it 3 1/2 stars; but, because I love Ms. Dale’s books; so I gave the rating a slight bump to 4 stars (glass half full..)

When is a Skunk not a skunk?
Book 20 in this incredible series is a little different and I appreciated the differences. It is amazing this series is still going strong and holding everyone’s attention. Nelson and Taylor end up in Mexico to help Elizabeth find her brother, considered AWOL and a possible murderer. We meet a lot of different people here, the bad, the good, the indifferent, and I really hoped that bit of sunshine would help King be a better person. That’s all I am saying here. This one has the expected hot sex, but its at the end. An intriguing read with suspense, and what really happened? I enjoyed the mystery aspect also. Come along on the ride, with an Alpha, giving male, and opinionated intelligent women and the mystery of her brother in Mexico. Thank you Dale Mayer and booksprout for the arc.
All opinions are my own and were unsolicited.
I was pulled in immediately and became totally immersed in all that was happening in this can’t-put-down book, sitting on the edge of my seat during this gripping, fast-paced drama. I really liked SEALs Nelson and Taylor and their dynamic with the other characters especially Elizabeth Etchings whose brother “Skunk” has gone missing in Mexico. Ms. Mayer blew me away with “Nelson” and now I’m anxiously waiting for book 22 that will center around Taylor in her must-read SEALs of Honor series. I received an advance reader copy of this book from Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving my honest review.
Every book that Dale Mayer writes in the Seals of Honor series are truly wonderful, but Nelson is my favorite. This book is packed full of action and hotness that it consumes you. A must read for all book lovers.
I have loved each and every book in this series and I was definitely looking forward to reading another! I was NOT disappointed. This book was exciting and filled with suspense! Loved the characters interaction and loved the story line. In my opinion, this is the most intense book in the series and had me engrossed from the start. I did not want to stop reading, but on the other hand I did not want the book to end. Love the way characters from other books and series were brought into the story and helped out the main characters. I just cannot say enough good things about this book and series. Dale Mayer has me hooked!

When Nelson is asked to help find a friend, Skunk, who texted him asking for help, he meets the sister, Elizabeth, who is determined to find her brother. So much so she follows Nelson and Taylor to Mexico to help in the search and while doing so inadvertently grabs the attention of a kingpin and his queen, while also discovering a body and searching for clues so her brother doesn’t get arrested for murder.
Another great read with a bit of steam, suspense, some action and insta love. I liked these two even though at times Elizabeth was a bit naive and stubborn but I liked her determination. I also liked Nelson, who even though fights the “keeper” at first, he doesn’t deny it when it really matters. I really liked the ending and how it all played out, as I did not see that coming. A read that had me flipping the pages with a couple of twists and turns with a great ending.

This was a great read. I truly love reading this series. It is full of murder, mayhem and mystery with romance thrown in. I adored Nelson and Elizabeth’s story. Nelson and Taylor go to Mexico to locate Elizabeth’s missing brother Chris. Elizabeth is not one to sit back and wait so she goes to Mexico herself looking for Chris. The journey to a HEA and locating Chris is just one that captured me right from the beginning (okay the Prologue is usually the Epilogue of the prior book so I was waiting patiently for this.) There was so much going on here that I was kept guessing as to what happened to Chris?
I loved the dual POV format that this was written in. The insight was one that really helped me to connect to the characters so much better.
I can’t wait for Taylor’s story which is up next!! I recommend this story to anyone over the age of 18.
Huge huge fan of Dale Mayer and all her Seals novels. I consider her one of my “auto-buy” authors. Really enjoyed Nelson and Elizabeth’s story. Always plenty of action in this series. I always enjoy when an alpha male falls head over heels for a strong woman.
I am still catching up on this series and I really wish I was already. There are some references to folks I haven’t gotten to know yet but I soon will.
Nelson is very surprised when the woman giving the seminar asks to see him before hand. Mason delivers this message and when the time arrives, Nelson is still a bit confused.
When Elizabeth Etchings introduces herself and tells him he knows her brother, he doesn’t recognize the name that is until she gives his nickname Skunk. Then she explains he’s missing and why she needs his help.
With Mason there it was easier to get permission to begin this search and also get a partner to assist.
Of course things go a bit haywire right away when Elizabeth shows up in Mexico, much to their surprise.
Investigations can be long and arduous, but they have little time to figure everything out.
I loved the way this progressed in a slow and twisted manner. Elizabeth and Nelson have some chemistry that Taylor picks up on almost immediately. That was a shock to Nelson and just added to the fun stuff.
Plenty of action, tension, suspense and just enough heat!
I can’t wait to read Taylor’s story it appears he may be next! In the meantime I am going to catch up on the rest of this series.
Nelson, book 21 in the seals of honour series by Dale Mayer. Nelson is asked for by name by a woman he barely knows but she needs help. Her brother is missing and Nelson was a friend of his. As they go back to the scene of the crime, things get ugly as the local king pin takes a shine to Elizabeth and his girlfriend doesn’t like it. Things aren’t what they seem as they continue the search for her brother and she gets kidnapped. Will Nelson and Taylor be able to save her and find the brother??????? Lots of breath holding and wondering what the King Pins game is. Loved the characters and the storyline and it’s always a surprise to read such a great story.
I really enjoyed reading Nelson . This is book 21 of Seals Of Honor Series and like the entire series it is outstanding .
This is Nelsons story . Engineer Elizabeth Etchings brother Seaman Chris ( Skunk ) has gone missing from the docks of Ensenada California . Elizabeth knows her brother is friends with Nelson Brown . So she seems him out and asks for his help to find him . This story of course is full of danger , murder , evil people , very intriguing . It keeps you guessing . An all out wonderful story . I highly recommend taking the time to read this story and the entire series .

Another great story from Dale Mayer in the Seals of Honor series. It was an interesting story with a few unexpected twists and turns. The characters were easy to relate to. I really enjoyed the book.

Elizabeth Etchings has asked for help to find her missing brother. He disappeared in Ensenada while on leave from his ship and she is worried the Navy will settle for AWOL without searching for him. Nelson and Taylor (Navy Seals) have been sent to find him and to their surprise Elizabeth has followed them. Due to some pretty unsafe areas there, Nelson feels he is responsible for her safety as well as searching for the missing seaman.
Elizabeth and her open friendly way has innocently attracted the attention of a mob boss and the jealousy of his girl. All this complicates what would have been a much easier task. Nelson’s feelings are growing past the protective stage which is not helping as it is distracting which he doesn’t need now.
This story with twists and turns is all wrapped up with all ends tucked into place. Then a hint of the next book is added which will be about Taylor. I really have enjoyed this series–one of my favorites!
Nelson is contacted by the sister of a friend he has not been in contact with in several years. The sister asks Nelson to help find her brother who is missing in Mexico. Nelson and two of his Seal brothers go down to try and get information regarding the missing brother. While there the sister shows up and starts asking lots of question and pointing a target on her back. Lots of action in this book. And of course another one of Mason’s men falls hard for a woman.
