Any book in the Seals of Honor is worth reading. I find that I can’t put it down until I’ve read the entire book. Dale Mayer’s has created an excellent group of people in her books so that you can enjoy each one individually or as a set.
Just okay.
I received a complimentary copy of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
This was a wonderfully written romance with a LOT of intrigue. I mean really what did Laysa’s assailant want? She had no clue. He beat her and made her call her old friend Kanen. Fortunately he along with two other SEALs were in Germany and not the US to come to her aid as time was of the essence. Laysa was able to get away on her own but joining up with Kanen and his friends, the search and mysteries just start to roll in.
I loved reading the dual POV format. Having Laysa and Kanen being old friends. Laysa was married to Kanen’s best friend Blake. Blake was killed in an accident about nine months before these events. As the story unfolds, not everything is as it seemed for Laysa. She comes to depend more and more on her old friend Kanen. Seeing their thoughts really helped to see how these two old friends come to regard each other and hope that the other feels the same.
I highly recommend this military intrigue romance!! I look forward to reading Nelson’s and Taylor’s stories as these two were just as wonderful.
I just love the Seal books by Dale Mayer. This one didn’t seem to have as much action as the others but it is still a good read. I always look forward to how each Seal is going to find their forever girl and this one didn’t disappoint.

The story starts with Kanen, Taylor, and Nelson off to night training in Germany when Kanen gets a call from Laysa an old friend. Laysa being held hostage because Blake, her dead husband, had something that the kidnapper wanted. At this point Kanen with his teammates go into action to protect Laysa who’s living outside of London. Once they arrive, they focus on finding the item that Blake was holding and then capturing the Kidnapper. I couldn’t put the book done once I started it. Like all of the books in the SEALs of Honor series, this one ended with the HEA for Kanen and Lysa.

I love how the different series service teams intermingle mixing new characters with the older favorites. They are good men helping each other and a new good woman gets added in during each book. There is suspense, growing friendships, and love in each book that keeps you turning the pages.

This is a book that has you on the edge of your seat right from the start. I gobbled up the pages because I wanted to know what was going to happen next. The mystery of what Laysa’s deceased husband was up to because some scary people are after her now. Kanen is going to do everything in his power to keep her save and unravel the mystery before it’s too late. This was a fast read for me, but one that kept hooked.

Dale Mayer’s new SEALs of Honor book, Kanen, had me hooked from the very beginning and it didn’t let me loose until the very last page.
Kanen receives a panicked call from Laysa, the widow of his best friend, Blake. She explains that a man is beating her up because he believes she knows where her husband hid something that Blake was holding for him. Laysa has no idea what he is looking for, so the man forces her to call Kanen to search. He threatens to kill Laysa if he doesn’t find the hidden item.
Unfortunately, Laysa and Kanen have no idea what they are looking for since the man has not told them. Therefore, Kanen flies to England to visit Laysa and help her search for the hidden item. However before he arrives, Laysa tricks the man, and manages to escape.
When Kanen arrives, he and Laysa hunt for unknown hidden item. They also intend to discover why this item is so important, and, thus, hopefully, discover the name of Laysa’s attacker.
As in all of her books, Ms. Mayer takes her readers on a wild roller coaster ride. She drops small clues that seem to help us figure out who Laysa’s attacker is and what the item is that he wants. However, these clues usually lead Laysa, Kanen and the reader into many dead ends.
The author also enjoys forcing the main character to jump through hoops in order to figure out what Laysa’s attacker actually wants with this item. Ms. Mayer also weaves throughout the story some hints that Blake may not have actually been the type of man that everyone thought he was.
Kanen’s book is another exciting thriller in her SEALs of Honor series!
Excellent read with lots of excitement, suspense, twists and turns, drama, murder, intrigue and so much more. The characters flow so nicely with the story. It keeps you on your toes and turning pages excitedly. She is his dead friend’s wife. She calls him needing help and the fun begins. I received a review copy from booksprout and voluntarily review it.
I was kindly provided this book as an ARC; in exchange for my honest review. This is book 20 in the SEALs Of Honor series. This book revolves around Kanen (of note in book 19 he was referred to as Kannen. I think this was a simple continuity oversight.) and Laysa. (My auto-spell-corrector went bonkers on that name.)
I’m doing this review slightly different than my previous ones. Family emergency and time constraints just don’t allow for the details I usually include.
This is a very looong series; with several connected series. I would say it was close to as good/great as the previous books in series. However, the ending just wasn’t enough; I was left feeling like there should have been 3 or more chapters at minimum. I recommend this book, but do warn the reader of this. Truly I’d give it 3 1/2 stars, but, because I love Ms. Dale’s books; so I gave the rating a slight bump (glass half full..)

I truly enjoyed Kanen and Laysa’s story. Blake was a man of secrets and as the story unravels so do his secrets. Kanen and Laysa both childhood friends of Blake’s are left reeling from his death, both in different ways, but it draws them closer. The threat against her is very real and Kanen is there to help sort it out and get to the bottom of it. The intrigue and mystery is on high right from the start and add in the banter of Nelson and Taylor and this is one of the best Seals book yet. It’s just so hard deciding which story I love the most, but Kanen is most certainly one at the top. I volunteered to read this book on Booksprout.
Kanen and Laysa.. Kanen gets a tearful phone call from Laysa. She’s in England, and she’s being held captive. Kanen doesn’t even blink an eye before rushing off to do what he can to help figure out the mystery surrounding Laysa’s dead husband.
Another thrilling adventure ride from Dale Mayer!
Set aside enough time to read the whole book, or you’re going to lose sleep. You won’t be able to put the book down. Page turning excitement right here.

This was go go go from the get go, I just love how the guys pulled together after Kanen got the call from Laysa and there is no hesitation to help her. There is plenty of mystery to Laysa’s dead husband and the twists and surprises that are unearthed as they find out who is behind everything leaves you in shock at times. You are doubting the honesty of most you meet but also find some touching moments along the way as well as enjoy seeing both Kanen and Laysa come to some self realisations over the time they spend together.

A wonderful read that I couldn’t put down with engaging characters and a well-crafted story that kept me on the edge of my seat with mystery, suspense, twists, turns, hot SEALs and so much more. I fell in love with Kanen and his attraction and chemistry with Laysa (widow of his best friend Blake) who called him when she was in trouble. Ms. Mayer has given us another winner and I look forward to reading about Nelson in her 21st SEALs of Honor book. I received an advance reader copy of this book from Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving my honest review. I also purchased a copy for my keeper library.
I enjoyed this excitng read. With an engaging blend of romance, suspense, danger, action, mystery, drama, secrets, and emotional turmoil, the story grabs and holds your attention. I liked both Laysa and Kanan. The pull of attraction between them was strong enough to feel and I felt that the complex feelings and fears they had over it was realistic and relatable.
(3.5) There are plenty of Seals and stories to be told, I am not tired of the series, but this one dropped me. Started off extremely well, but I am not really sure how I feel about the relationship dynamics. I get the friends to lovers, etc but this one didn’t take me. The mystery was also a no go for me and I felt the dead husband was more a jerk they both should have seen through. That being said it is always awesome to run across old friends. They warm the soul. Sorry this one was Rocky for me, maybe I wasn’t coming from the right place. Thank you so much for the Arc. All thoughts and opinions are my own and we’re unsolicited.
Laysa is surprised when her home is broken into and she is tortured and held against her will because she doesn’t know anything about a package her dead husband was supposedly keeping for her attacker. Her attacker forces her to make a call to her husband’s best friend, Kanen, who immediately comes to try to help her. Laysa manages to escape and once Kanen and his friends arrive, they launch an investigation into trying to find the information Laysa’s attacker is after.
Laysa and Kanen have been friends for a long time and spending time together on the investigation brings them closer together. Can they give in to their feelings and not look at it as a betrayal to Laysa’s dead husband and Kanen’s best friend? They will need to solve the investigation first and see if they still feel the same in the end.
Kanen by Dale Mayer
SEALs of Honor Series Book 20
Kanen Larson was out on a training op with Nelson and Taylor. When an old friend calls and she’s in trouble…the three of them head out to England. Kanen plans on finding out what’s going on and he has plans on dealing out some violence of his own to the man who dared to hurt Laysa.
Laysa Elliott had loved her husband, Blake. Kanen had been his best friend and hers. As things start unfolding, it brings up questions of how well she really knew her husband. Now she was just thankful to have such a protector as Kanen and his friends.
Another great suspense romance with another “keeper” in the end.

Another great book full of suspense from miss Mayer. I couldn’t put It down and read It in one sitting. I received this book via Booksprout for an honest review.
This story holds enough action to keep you on the edge of your seat. Why was she kidnapped? What is the mystery here? These two characters have been through the wringer and deserve a happy ending. Great friends to lovers story, I thoroughly enjoyed it.
