When Chance McCallister left her to join the Navy SEALS, Mandy Loomis was devastated. Now, more than ten years later, Chance and his brothers are back in town for their father’s funeral, but Mandy is no longer that moon-eyed teenager she once was. She’s a fiercely independent woman determined to solve her own problems—and she has plenty. When her gambler father died two years prior, he left … left Mandy—along with a successful auto repair business—a ton of debt owed to a ruthless loan shark. Mandy is barely getting by, and when her mechanic quits, she’s in a real bind. It just so happens, Chance is willing to help out. Sure, Chance is bigger, stronger, and sexier than ever, but Mandy isn’t interested in anything but his mechanical skills…
Or maybe just a bit interested in his kissing skills—which, by the way, are just as good as she remembers.
Mandy wasn’t the only one brokenhearted when they were just teens. Chance never did get over his first love, and seeing her now only brings back those feelings in a major way. He’s grown up a lot since he left their little town, and now that he’s home, he’s determined to win back the girl he never should have lost. If only he can convince Mandy that he can protect her from the loan shark and his thugs, and that she doesn’t have to protect her heart from him.
But just as the two are beginning to realize they’re meant to be together, the loan shark makes things more than just a little precarious, putting both their love and their lives in danger.

Be forewarned there are sex scenes but not enough to be erotica.
This was a wonderful book with great characters. I thoroughly enjoyed reading about Chance and Mandy’s HEA. These two were high school sweethearts. Mandy broke up with Chance when he signed up with the Navy. Mandy wanted to work in her father’s garage with Chance and raise a family. Mandy was upset that Chance made such a big decision without discussing it with her that she broke up with him. This book takes place twelve years later.
I look forward to reading the other two books of this series with Chance’s brothers.
I highly recommend this book. This author does a great job in telling stories that you will becoming enthralled and won’t want to put it down. Again there are spots when your e-reader will be smokin’!
This story has a little of everything, sweet romance, sexy overbearing and frustrating alpha make and a beautiful woman who has the right heart and spirit. Thoroughly enjoying and entertaining.

I was a bit underwhelmed by SEAL’s Homecoming. I felt like there was so much telling us what happened instead of showing us. I prefer to be an observer to the action as opposed to an “eavesdropper”. I was also a little irritated with Mandy and her initial need to keep what was going on from Chance to protect him. He is a SEAL for goodness sake. I’m pretty sure he could handle the situation WAY better than she could. I think this was supposed to show how strong and independent Mandy was. I think she showed better sense when she finally shared what was going on with Chance. All in all, a quick second chance romance.
5 Star reviews are not something I normally provide for novella length books, but SEAL’s Homecoming (first book in Leslie North’s new SEAL & Veterans series) has everything a romance reader could possibly want. Great world building, an interesting back story and the undeniable angst and sexual tension that comes when faced with a lover from a decade pasted and lingering unresolved issues.
Chance and Mandy are engaging characters with strong personalities and deep emotions and painful memories of what could have been. Their parting was wounding, and left much unexplained; but the time that has passed since Chance enlisted and deployed overseas has done nothing to cool the combustible connection that was always a part of their lively relationship.
I loved everything about this book and the characters were definitely portrayed to perfection. I can’t wait the read both Harris and Lee’s stories.
This is dramatic, suspenseful and romantic. Chance is brave, protective, caring and determined. Mandy is stubborn, impulsive, independent and vulnerable. He came back to town for his father’s funeral, recently retired and not knowing what came next. When he saw Mandy he was just as drawn to her as they day they met 15 years before. It had been 12 years since they had broken up and he joined the Navy, and he spent all that time believing that she had killed his love for her. She felt the same way after he abandoned her. But when he realizes that she is in trouble, and in danger, he can’t stop himself from needing to help her and protect her. Up against a loan shark, they have to learn to trust each other again, and work together. It’s a great story.

A riveting read – crazy, intense, and enjoyable! It is a compelling, well written, and interesting second chance romance. The storyline is amazing, the ideas are well-thought out, and it is an on the edge of your seat read that moves along at a brisk pace. It is action-packed with danger, thugs; it is suspense-filled, and emotionally deep. Loveable characters – Chance and Mandy are a perfect match in more ways than one. THE SEAL’S HOMECOMING (Seal & Veteran Series #1) By Leslie North
This is a very well written 2nd chance romance. This brings us Chance McCallister, a retired Navy Seal and Mandy Loomis. He and his brothers are all home for their father’s funeral. They were very involved until he went in the Navy and Mandy broke up with him right before he left for 12 years. When Mandy took over her father’s Loomis Automotive. She also inherited his debt to a loan shark. Chance runs into her when she is being threatened by one of the loan shark’s. He wants to help her get free of this, and win her back too. This is a well developed story that has great characters, suspense, romance, and chemistry. This is another of the great reads we have come to expect from Leslie North.

Emotionally thrilling, sexy fun and engaging second chance romance filled with lots of drama, small town flavor and sweetly thrilling passion…. He is sexy and confidant she is sassy and independent and they both make each other better… Highly entertaining read.
This was a horrible way to begin retirement after being gone for 12 years, but a great beginning to rekindle an old flame. Even with her being in danger because of her father’s gambling addiction, these two finally find their way back to one another and it’s blazing when she finally lets go. I love the characters and cannot wait for the other bro5ers stories.

Mandy is running the garage her father owned after his death. Unbeknownst to her, he owed a large sum of money to a brutal loan shark who transferred her father’s debt to her to pay. He regularly sends a thug to collect. Chance has been medically discharged from the Navy and is home for his father’s funeral. He and Mandy were in love and planned to marry when he enlisted and subsequently became a Seal. After 12 years, they have both matured and still in love with each other. When he sees her paying the thug he swears to help her. Nicely written and a very enjoyable read.

First book in the series. I loved this second-chance romance. I recommend it.
I love Chance and Mandy. They both are strong persons who would do anything for the other.
I love that, despite what happened between them, Chance and Mandy give each other another chance. They rebuild their friendship and discover what they never allowed themselves to think, that they never stopped loving each other.
I love that Chance was able to reconcile with his father. They were able to settle their differences, and his father was able to die in peace.
I also love his relationship with his siblings.
I love Mandy, how she fights to protect her friends, and also how she doesn’t hold a grudge against her father for ‘her’ problems.
When they were young, both wanted to fulfill their dreams, but neither spoke to the other about their plans. I love that Mandy gave up Chance, although she loved him, because neither of them would have been happy.
I received an ARC from the author, and this is my honest review.
Twelve years is a long time to be gone and then come back and try for a second chance with the woman you left behind to join the military. Chance has been away for 12 years fighting for his country. He left to make himself a better man but when leaving he lost the best part of himself. Mandy has been working in her dads shop her entire life but when he passed away Mandy inherited more than just the shop and the house. Now her high school sweetheart Chance is home and looking to help. Can she trust him to help? Can she trust him with her heart again?
I loved this story. It is more than just a romance. It brings an all around story together and shares past, present and future. It is love, action, suspense, and danger. It showcases the true side of the SEAL and brings a bit of that world in. The characters are great. I can see many books written on many more of the supporting characters. This is going to be a great series I look forward to spending many hours reading.

A sexy buff SEAL, a curvy sexy woman, a loan shark and so much more. Chance left his small town to become a Navy SEAL. Mandy was heartbroken when Chance left her. Chance and Mandy together again after several long years. Will Chance be able to convince Mandy he is back for good? This was well written, has wonderful characters and kept me entertained from beginning to end.

4.5 Stars
This is book one in the SEAL & Veteran series and it features Chance and Mandy. This is a very steamy, sweet, action-packed second chance romance. I was definitely expecting the amazing military men but I was not expecting all the fabulous action.
This book has a fantastic story line with great characters. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.
Chance and Mandy broke up when he joined the navy. Twelve years later he comes home and when he see Mandy he knows he still cares. Can these two get back together or is it to late? I really enjoyed it. Chance and Mandy are interesting and caring characters
