This book was really good. It is a true stand alone novel even though it is the second book. I accidentally read this one first and though I missed a little bit of the back story it didn’t take away from the storyline. Molly has always been looking for a place to belong and though she could have had that with Hunter she needed to connect with family. After discovering that her father isn’t really her father and someone else is she goes in search of him. Only to have her dreams ripped away on the outset. In order to preserve everything that she has been searching for she returns to Hunter to ask for his help. She ripped his heart out but he still can’t seem to say “no” to her. Hunter goes to represent her father as his lawyer but he is determined to put an end to the hold Molly has on him.
This is definitely a book worth picking up for a fairly quick and interesting read. I’m off to read the first one now and even though I know it’s HEA with Carly Phillips books you always know there will be an HEA.
**I received an ARC of this novel for an honest review**
Sealed with a Kiss
Molly and Hunter are two people that were brought together for a reason,. Molly needs Hunter to help when her father is charged with murder. Hunter is determined to not let Molly breaks his heart again while helping her father. This story had every thing you could want, mystery, hot romance, laughter and sadness all wrapped up in one amazing book.
Talk about your heart pounding emotional roller-coaster ride… wow, whats a guy to do when the love of his life walks back in the door looking for help proving her new found father innocent of murder??? Loved the drama, family dynamics and shaken up friendship this journey started on. Was a great night of reading.
We met Daniel Hunter in Cross My Heart and now he gets to have his own happy ending. Back in law school Hunter met Molly Gifford and was instantly smitten. He tried multiple times to get her to go out with him but nothing ever panned out. Now Molly is in Hawken’s Cove because her mom is engaged to Lilly’s Uncle Mark. When Molly’s mom’s engagement ends, and Molly finds out who her real dad is, she decides to leave town and Hunter to go find the family she has always longed for.
After being gone a year, Molly all of a sudden shows up on Hunter’s doorstep needing his help. Her real father has been charged with murder and Molly needs him to defend her dad. Hunter reluctantly agrees but decides he is walking away from Molly for good once the trial is over.
Throughout the investigation into the murder, Molly and Hunter grow close again and they both realize they never stopped loving the other….now if they could only trust the other.
It was really fun going through the mystery of who killed Molly’s dad’s partner and the final reveal was worth it. Throughout this story Molly realizes that she has finally found what she always wanted in her new family and especially in Hunter. I just loved all the crazy characters in Molly’s new family. Grandma “Commander” Edna was a hoot as well as her macaw, Ollie. Overall this was a fun romance with a little bit of mystery thrown in and a perfect happy ending.
I really really loved Molly and Hunter! LOL Double really, just sayin! And the story-line was very entertaining and realistic. I’m making sure to say that so you guys understand this story, although crazy at time, was not beyond the realm of possibility nor do you have to suspend any kind of reality to say *that could happen* LOL But crazy it was …. Crazy FUN! SO MUCH! The mystery and suspense, the family, Hunter and Molly … all of it. Just plain cute!
Solid 4.5 stars (almost 5 so I’m rounding up lol) for this re-read!
We met Molly Gifford and Daniel Hunter in Cross My Heart, book one of the Ty and Hunter Duet. Quick background: they’ve known each other since law school, had a bit of a flirtation, met up again when Molly moved to Hunter’s small upstate New York hometown when her mother was engaged to his best friend’s (Lily/Lacey’s) Uncle, became involved until Molly’s world came crashing down around her, Molly fled to figure out who she is and left Hunter with a broken heart.
Eight months later, Molly shows up on Hunter’s doorstep because she needs his help to prove her father’s innocence. The man she finds is not the Hunter she’s known all these years. This Hunter is a mess ~ drinking too much and playing just as hard. Hunter agrees to help Molly, but not get involved with her again. Which is easier said than done. Before long, Hunter’s feelings start creeping back in.
This is a great second chance romance. It has passion, intrigue, suspense, secrets and a foul talking bird. Don’t miss it!
I am so glad I didn’t have to wait long for this book! Molly and Hunter both had issues growing up that I can’t begin to understand, but felt so bad for them. When Hunter put his heart out to Molly in the last book and she crushed it, I felt Hunter’s pain. Unfortunately he turned into someone his friends didn’t like because of all his drinking and women. Molly found out who she thought was her biological father was not who she grew up with. Since Molly has always wanted a family to be a part of, she found her biological father (who didn’t know about her) and her two sisters. I know it had to be hard for her sisters to find out about her. The oldest of the two was happy, but the youngest took a dislike to Molly. When their father was accused and arrested of murder for his real estate partner, they were all devastated. I was glad Molly went back to Hunter to see if he would represent her father as he is the best criminal lawyer around. I didn’t blame Hunter for turning her down at first after the way she had left him. But Hunter is such a good guy, he drove to Molly’s place in Connecticut to see what he could do. I loved their time together, the understanding that Hunter saw about Molly’s problem with her mother and family, the closeness Hunter came with Molly’s family, and his feelings for Molly. There is so much going on behind the scenes that cause trouble for Molly and hamper Hunter in his case. This is a very touching book that I strongly encourage you to read the book. I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader’s Copy of this book.
After discovering her real father, Molly Gifford is just settling into life with her new found family when her father is arrested for murder.
Knowing that the only person who can help her father is the same man that she walked away from several months previous, leaving him broken hearted, Molly bites the bullet and heads back to find him.
Daniel Hunter has put his heart and soul into work since Molly walked away from him and is shocked and surprised when she turns up at his door looking for help.
Unable to resist, he agrees to help Mollys father.. but working closely with Molly opens up old feelings again for both of them.
A lovely second chance romance story.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Wow! Molly and Hunter are that slow burn couple. They’ve been flirting for years! And just when they thought they would have a start at love, they find themselves on opposite sides. Trust is broken and they part. When Molly needs Hunter to defend her father, she must trust him again, this time with more than her heart.
I loved Molly and Hunter. They dance around each other for so long it can’t be anything but explosive. She is a force when it comes to her new found family. Even though she hides herself for acceptance. Hunter sees her and gets her. And that is sexy as all get out. He is so swoon worthy for his compassion and passion. They understand each other in a way that no one else really can.
What do you do when your father is arrested for the murder of his best friend and business partner? Why, you call your own best friend, of course, who also happens to be the best criminal attorney you know and your ex! That’s what Molly did in Carly Phillip’s book Sealed with a Kiss. She also hoped that he would take the case and was the first step to them getting back together.
Their relationship was a long one . . . it ranged from law school through working together in his hometown through her running away to “find” herself. Of course, Daniel Hunter, aka Hunter, views her run as another abandonment. He has grown up in foster homes where he heard all his life that he would “never amount to anything.” After being removed from his last foster home based on a revenge action from a wealthy member of the community, he determined to prove everyone wrong. His success as an attorney has proven his worth. Along the way, he became enamored of Molly who was so focused on her career that she forever rejected his advances. He was not deterred. In fact, she was secretly hoping he would someday be successful and was warming up to him when her mother’s world fell apart and she decided to move on.
What Hunter did not know was that after leaving, she learned that the person who raised her as a father wrote to her and told her that he was not her biological father and told her who her father was and where she could find him. Her real father and his family accepted her into their fold and it was her real father who is arrested for murder, thus bringing Molly to get Hunter involved with her new family.
The slow progress and loving environment of the family makes it challenging for Hunter to keep to his stand to avoid entanglements with Molly as he defends her father. How will this relationship work out? How will Hunter’s other friends fit into his scheming and work? Will Molly’s family accept Hunter into their fold? Lots of twists and turns as this story unfolds.
Molly had been searching her whole life for a family. Hunter had a family of his own making and really didn’t feel a need for anything else. Except for Molly. But could Molly ever choose him first? Or would her desire for family above all else push him away for good?
This is a re-release of an earlier story written by Carly Phillips. It is also the second story in a duet but can totally be read as a stand-alone. It has all of the emotional feels of family angst, a little mystery and LOTS of steamy romance, along with the HEA that we know and love to read.
SEALED WITH A KISS by Carly Phillips is book 2 in the Ty and Hunter Series. This is the story of Molly Gifford and Daniel Hunter. I have read the previous book ‘Cross My Heart’ which Hunter and Molly were in as secondary characters and I am so glad they are the main characters now in book 2. In book 1 Molly and Hunter were friends who were moving forward to something bigger something more when Molly just up and left to find out more about her real father. 8 months later, things have gone nuts for Molly because her bio dad has been accused of murder. In Molly’s eyes, there is only one person she can only think of one who can help her in this situation – Hunter. The question is would he even be willing to help the woman who hurt him so badly and then just leave after helping her or will things between Molly and Hunter turn super hot and all romantic once again?
This story shows us what makes Hunter and Molly tick and why they are the way they are. It also gives the readers insight into why they have built really high emotional walls. I enjoyed the added insights into Molly and Hunter and why they did and/or didn’t do things.
The sexual chemistry between them is amazing, but is really enough for a lasting relationship between them ?
Can they both get past their childhoods and the hurts and have a bright and strong future together? This was such a great 2nd chance at love romance read that is so sweet and steamy. I loved the HEA- who wouldn’t? It’s a Carly Phillips book!!
My Rating: 4.5 stars *****
Molly and Hunter have a long past of knowing me another. While Hunter was in foster care, Molly might as well have been since her mother shipped her off to private schools. So with tortured pasts, these two have issues with relationships. Molly walked away once from Hunter, and he’s not about to put himself on the line again. But when Molly needs his help, he goes. He gives them a chance, but Molly still has some life decisions to make. So will she figure them out and be ready to commit. I loved Hunter and Molly. It was hard to pick sides on these two because they both had such troubled childhoods that their issues were legit. Carly certainly knows how to spin a story mixed with love, suspense and true emotions you can relate to. Definitely a must read. Better enjoyed if you read Ty’s book first.
I loved Molly and Hunter’s story. When Molly begs Hunter to help defend her father who is in jail for murdering her best friend, Hunter tries to be strong and resist her, after all she’s hurt him already. But his desire for Molly and her vulnerability means that he just can’t stay away. I loved how Hunter just gave up resisting and let Molly in to his heart. But when he walked away to let her have her life with her new family, he was so selfless your heart just broke for him. Which of course made their reunion so much sweeter. Loved this story from start to finish.
Molly receives a letter from the man she thought was her Father, He is not her Father. She went and found her real Father, and some sisters, and a Grandmother. He is arrested for murdering his business partner, Molly goes back to Hawkens Cove to ask Daniel Hunter to be he Father’s lawyer. Hunter spends time with the family and Molly. The real killer comes forward, and Molly’s Dad is exonerated.
Hunter is finished, and he leaves. Molly turns down her Dads offer to join his business. She goes back to Hunter to tell him she loves him and wants to spend the rest of their lives together. The epilogue is their wedding, told through Jessie’s (Molly’s sisters) eyes.
I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.
Sealed with a Kiss by Carly Phillips is a well told story that is wonderfully written with great characters, lots of feels, heartbreak, suspense, murder, mystery, intense chemistry, angst, drama, humor, secrets, passion, love, and a HEA.
I volunteered to review an advance reader copy of this book.
Daniel Hunter, Hunter as he wanted to be called, was a self made successful lawyer. Growing up in the foster system wasn’t easy and until he came to live with his best friend Ty and his mom, he bounced around and never really knew a real home. After being ripped from the only home he really felt safe in and sent back to the system because of one man, Hunter determined to make something of himself. Now years after law school and making a home and name for himself as one of the best in the business he’s looking for love with the one woman who bested him from being the top in law class, Molly! She comes to his hometown and starts to make a home for herself. Never feeling quite like she belongs to anyone or anyplace because of her mother’s lifestyle, she’s finally thinking this time will be different. Her mom is set to marry a nice man, whom she thinks will be coming into money soon, and that she will finally have a family and place to call home. But it all falls apart when the ‘dead’ niece of the man set to inherit the money returns to claim what is rightfully hers. Molly’s mother once again breaks things off and jets off in search of the next rich man.
Molly is set to leave town as well after all her hopes are crushed yet again, when she receives a letter from the man she has always considered her dad but never had a relationship with. She is dealt another blow when he gives her the news that he really is not her father and he gives her the name of the man who is her biological father. With this news she sets off in search of the family she never had, in search of a place to belong, breaking Hunters heart in the middle of it all. Months later she returns needing Hunters help as her father has been accused of murder and she needs his help clearing his name. She finally has found a home, a father who accepted her from the moment she showed up on his door and she doesn’t intend to loose him too.
A touching story of two broken souls, searching for a place to belong and someone to love them and they can call their own. I loved Molly and Hunter and their journey of self discovery and love.
SEALED WITH A KISS by Carly Phillips is book Two in the Ty and Hunter Series. This is the story of Molly Gifford and Daniel Hunter. I have read the previous book ‘Cross My Heart’ which Hunter and Molly were in so that added to my enjoyment of this book.
Molly and Hunter were friends moving forward to something more when Molly up and left to find out about her real father. Now she is back asking for his help when that biological father is being accused of killing someone. Hunter and Molly both went through law school together and now Hunter is a successful lawyer. Hunter still hurt by her leaving does agree finally to help her which puts them working closely together again. Enjoyed reading their story.
This was a good read and I liked it. The plot was engaging and the story focuses on Molly and Hunter. These characters first appear in book one of this series. I enjoyed the emotional turmoil in the book. I was not a fan of Molly’s. To me she was very unlikable. So many of her actions I found frustrating and I could never move past the fact that Hunter deserved more. More loyalty, more honesty and more respect. He was such a great guy and to me she kind of came off as a user. That is just my opinion. Other than that the book was enjoyable.
From the moment they met in law school, Hunter and Molly became the best of friends, but Hunter always wanted more. Molly was a little apprehensive though, given past hurts, and pushed off his advances. But, before long he began to sneak past her defenses, and she soon gave in and accepted his offer for a date. Not long after they fell hard for one another, but she always felt a small part of herself was missing, she longed to know more about her real father, and began digging, and when she discovered his whereabouts she knew she had to leave and find him. Which also meant putting an end to her relationship with Hunter, and that hurt more than she cared to admit.
Now she is back in town, standing on his doorstep praying he can provide the help she needs to clear her father of murder charges. She just has to hope that he can look past the hurt she caused him in the past, and agree to work alongside her once again.
Sealed with a Kiss is a gripping little page-turner that comes brimming with drama, suspense, heart-wrenching emotion, and steam riddled throughout it’s pages. Hold on tight cause this one will take you on a thrilling literary ride, it sucked me in and wouldn’t let go until I had devoured every last page. You couldn’t help but feel for these characters, both had been dealt a crappy hand in life, and I had to admire the way they continued to bounce back from every set-back they faced, they were quite inspiring. I thoroughly enjoyed this one, it was a perfectly blended story, that satisfied on all fronts! Highly recommend!
I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased opinion.
