Sometimes sin looks an awful lot like heaven. The Vessel Trilogy, Book 2One demon prince may be festering in the bowels of the soul eater Cocytus, but Genevieve’s troubles are far from over. Prince Bamal, demon lord of New York City, still wants her. But this time, he wants her alive, to control her inherent power as a Vessel of Light. Yet she hesitates, for the transfer of that power comes through a kiss. While Gen’s love for Jude is true, Thomas stirs a desire where there should be none. Thomas also knows Jude’s darkest secret and plans to use it, if necessary, to win Gen for his own.
While her Vessel power grows and more demon spawn creep from every dark corner of the world, one thing is certain—the Great War between the angels and demons is quickly approaching. And Gen is in a race against time to awaken her full power before the storm breaks.

Sealed in Sin is action-packed as Genevieve, Jude, Kat, and George search the globe for the other half of the prophecy. Genevieve and Jude are growing closer with each passing day, making it difficult to remain chaste and keep Genevieve untainted. When Genevieve’s guardian angel continues to show up at opportune times and offers her the ability to sift, additional feelings start to brew within Genevieve. Things aren’t always what they seem and Genevieve learns the hard way to be a bit more discerning in whom she trusts.
Genevieve grows so much in Sealed in Sin. Suddenly thrust into the paranormal world in book 1, Genevieve wasn’t at all prepared for anything she learned. As the story progressed, we do see her getting stronger but in book 2 the is a very marked difference. She’s hunting demons with Kat like she’s been doing it her entire life. Jude is gone a bit more but he’s trying to find the prophecy so that Genevieve, the Vessel, can plan for the upcoming war.
Juliette’s writing style is wonderful and sometimes lyrical. The dialogue between all characters is smooth and understandable. The plot is wonderfully constructed and the world building was done extremely well. The details were descriptive enough to paint wonderful pictures in my mind as I read along, never becoming overly done or obnoxious.
I couldn’t put the book down and devoured it in a couple of days.
If book one was all about world-building and explanations, book two was all the fun stuff! Interesting secrets, new allies, and the intimate moments were so worth waiting for! That ending though…argh!! Talk about frustration!
Wow!! Juliette has done it again!! Trying to wrap my brain around the right words to explain this next installment in the Vessel Trilogy. Gen is training and growing in her powers as well as her love for Jude. And then we meet Thomas…her guardian angel. Who’s side is he really on? Will he come between Gen and Jude? And what about George and Kat??? We get a little more background story on these two, but just enough to whet the appetite for more!!! They definitely need their own book(s)!! Sealed in Sin steps out of the jazzy scenery of New Orleans as the search for the Prophecy takes them to the other side of the world. The battle between Light and Dark is beginning to come to fruition as each side struggles for the upper hand. Genevieve really starts to come into her own powers here. I can’t wait to see her own it in the final book, Bound In Black!!!!
I really enjoyed book one of this trilogy but I absolutely LOVED this one! I was taken on a wild adventure ride that covered every emotion possible.
While Gen is growing into her position as a Vessel, there are always dark forces working against her and the other Flamma of Light. I struggled with her response to Thomas but held out hope for her relationship with Jude. Of course, I shouldn’t have worried. This book definitely picks up the pace where Jude and Gen are concerned and I loved every moment of it.
As they continue to search for the missing piece of the prophecy, we are pulled deeper into the darkness that threatens to destroy humankind. I was on the very edge of my seat, nail biting in full force, as Gen makes decisions that may or may night be the right ones. I never really knew what the repercussions of such decisions would be. By the time I reached the ending I was a sobbing mess, needing resolution and yet knowing I wouldn’t get it until I dove into book 3. Which is exactly where I intend to go right now.
Why did I wait so long to read this series??? Totally rectifying that mistake…
