I really loved this book. Never a dull moment. It had all the elements for a good book in my opinion.
This is a nice story! I enjoyed the characters. It seemed to move along at a nice pace. I liked that he is very “Alpha” and wants control in all areas. His SEAL Buds were quickly in and out of the story so we didn’t get much to learn about them for future books. A good first book in the series.
I did listen to this on audio. Sophie James did a nice job portraying all the characters.
Great
This was a great story. He was a SEAL and deployed alit. His ex wife couldn’t deal with it but passed away from cancer. Thank goodness for their son. She was a widow with a little girl. The crossed path when Abbey was a baby. Now the run into each other on the beach.
I loved this book. The characters were believable and grew throughout the story.
I really enjoyed this book. This was my first book I read by McKenna Jameison and it was great. I loved how 2 now single parents find loved again. I don’t want to give any spoilers but I did cry when ICE realizes his mistake and almost loses Rebecca.
Fantastic read. Looks like I have another new author to read.
This first book in the Alpha Seals series was a great introduction. I really enjoyed the storyline about how two widows end up getting a second chance at love. The two main characters have a lot of parallels of their lives: they are both parents, they both lost their spouse, and they both have high stress careers. When danger threatens Rebecca and her daughter, Nick has to do something drastic to keep them safe. The narrator was new to me and she did a good job of voicing both characters.
This is the 1st book I read by Makenna Jameison. I loved this book’s storyline. I loved the hot & steamy scenes. I loved Patrick’s character. I loved how Patrick protected Rebecca. I loved Rebecca’s character. I loved the kids. I loved the ending. Awesome job Ms. Jameison
He is a Seal leader to his team she is a lawyer they are both single parents He goes on missions so they have sizzling romance in between She has a stalker and so the Seal team comes to the rescue she is unhappy she is kept not knowing what the team is doing to protect her but when it counts He is there some exciting action they make a great family happy ending
It’s a SEAL story. I can generally count on those to be extra steamy and a good story. So, I tend to read the first ‘steam’ and then scan through the rest. That way I can read the rest of the story. This is a fun one with interesting backstories for both characters. I enjoyed the read.
I thoroughly enjoyed this novel. Sweet with plenty of heat.
Divorce attorney Rebecca Mayes finally feels like she is moving on with her young daughter after losing her husband a year ago. But when an angry husband of a client wants revenge she finds herself in need of protection.
Navy SEAL Patrick “Ice” Foster watched his wife walk out with his son because she couldn’t handle his life as a SEAL. Since her death he now juggles his deployments with raising his young son.
Two young children will be the catalyst that bring two lonely adults together who didn’t see the possibility of a relationship in their future. And a man trained in protection will do whatever it takes to protect the woman he has fallen in love with.
SEAL The Deal is an excellent romantic suspense by Makenna Jameison. Ms. Jameison has crafted a well-written book populated with lovable characters. Rebecca is a lawyer, widowed with a young daughter to raise. Navy SEAL Patrick has sworn off relationships and just wants to raise his son. Patrick and Rebecca’s story is packed with drama, humor, sizzle, action and suspense. I enjoyed reading this book and look forward to my next book by Makenna Jameison. SEAL The Deal is book 1 of the Alpha SEALs Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.
SEAL the Deal
Alpha SEALs, Book 1
By: Makenna Jameison
Narrated by: Sophie James
We all like to think there are second chances in life. Patrick, a Navy seal, and father had a failed marriage and his ex-wife later died. Now, still in the military, he has to raise his son alone. One night when he was home, he stopped to help a woman change her tire. Little did he know years later that this woman would be his future. Rebecca is a lawyer with a young daughter. Now looking for a no strings attached relationship, she once again bumps into Patrick. But can these two really be casual? Now deployed and Rebecca in danger, Patrick has to make decisions. Will he make it back in time? I love romantic suspense and military romances, and Makenna Jameison gives me both with this book. It’s steamy and fun, has a hint of suspense, but what I really love about it is the realistic relationship between Patrick and Rebecca. These two could be anyone we know. They are flawed, scared and unsure of what they want in the future. It’s how they handle it all and the results that make me love them! Plus the interactions with the other Navy Seals gives us a glimpse of what there is to come, and it’s going to be amazing!
Sophie James has a great voice for narration, and I loved her performance of this story. She brings a variety of voices to the table and keeps consistent with the use of them. She finds the personality of the character and uses the nuances of her voice to give it that emotional push. Always a pleasure to listen to her.

This story could happen at anytime. I thoroughly enjoyed thi ssd couple. Both have had to be strong for various reasons. Past hurts have left scars yet they could still be honest about what they wanted. That was the first thing I noticed. Neither played any games about what they wanted from each other.
I felt the characterization was excellent as well as the overall story. I do think the passage of time was esqued and could use some work to be more clear. Sophie James did an incredible job narrating and bringing the story to life.
I recieved a free Audible copy of this story, at my request, in exchange for a honest review.
Great book
Rebecca had her life figured out. She was married to the man she loved and has the most precious daughter Abbey. In a blink of an eye everything changes. Patrick, who is a SEAL, is a single dad with a son named Logan. A chance encounter several years ago, comes rushing back. Now neither can get each other out of their minds. Working and dating as single parents is never easy. Alpha Patrick wants to take charge but Rebecca is independent person. When trouble comes, SEAL team steps up to the plate. When it comes down to it, trust needs to be earned before they can move forward.
First book I have read from this author, really enjoyed the it. Great charactersite looking forward to reading the next one.
As an attorney, young widow and mother, life wasn’t easy when working, raising Abby and finding a place in the world, was her everyday challenge. There are wonderful incidents that bring together a military, widowed, father and his son, into her world while at the beach. The children played, the two adults watched and discussed that all was not easy in life when alone. Thankfully, both Rebecca and Patrick had family that helped with some of the responsibilities. This is the story of these two adults finding happiness. There are, of course, trials, terrifying experiences and situations that must be worked out, but there is an HEA.
I fell in love with this book. The characters grew through the story and I love these characters. I hope they appear in the future.
Thin plot, repetitive and endless inner dialog. A sweet love story with sizzling love scenes. Story idea was a good one but lacked action or suspense, could have been much better.
Just what I needed, a good romance that ends well.
