“I voluntarily received this arc book from an honest review”
I’ve loved every Silver SEALs book, and this one is no exception. Fans of Caitlyn O’Leary’s books will be thrilled to see Liam get his book, and those new to her have a treat in store. On the trail of a killer that appears to be a high-ranking naval officer, Liam is paired with Addison Sanders – whom he’d pushed away years ago but whom he still loves. The story is fast-paced and exciting, there are twists that keep the reader on edge, there is heat, and there is a band of misfits that leaves you laughing at the banter – and awed by the commitment. There is true horror in this story, and the ending is both satisfying and hopeful for more of the characters. I recommend this book wholeheartedly; it ended way too soon for me.
I received a free copy of this book. This review was posted voluntarily.
When Si Branson contacts Liam to help out with some stolen guns and find the men who are running them, Liam categorically turns him down. Then his friend Laird Campbell approaches him, the daughter of a close friend has been abducted and he needs Liam’s help.
Interestingly enough the two cases entwine. Not only do they find the girl, they find the guns and the person in charge, at least in charge in Mexico. Most disturbing is another find they make, two bodies and eighteen Navy dog tags.
Liam puts together a team using his nephew Declan’s company, Shadow Alliance. However there’s an addition to that team that is more than just a surprise to Liam.
Addison Sanders is CIA but she was Navy and her an Liam have history.
As they’re researching into the tags, another woman goes missing. CPO Caroline Jakes. They have to find her before she ends up like the others.
Plenty of giggles in the interactions of this team, even as they go about the serious business. Business made more complicated by a leak somewhere. Since they suspect someone in the Navy is taking these women, the leak can either be there or in Si’s group at DHS.
Intriguing, fast-paced and romantic with some sizzling heat.
What a ride!!!Caitlyn O’Leary does it again with a great story filled with awesome alpha male heroes, strong women and a plot that keeps you on the edge of your seat.
On assignment for the DHS in the Mexican jungle, Liam McAllister and his team stumble upon a horrifying scene which spirals into an unfathomable course in which they are investigating Navy higher ups involved in serial murders of female Navy personnel.
The investigation must be kept under the radar because it is unknown who exactly is involved. In walks CIA liason Addison Sanders. Liam and Addison have a history and sparks immediately fly. But, can Addison trust Liam not to walk away this time?
The characters are strong, likable and the plot is great! I love the older age of Liam and Addison. Still sexy and the age brings a maturity with emotional feelings. No whining or stomping off if they don’t agree. They talk things through and don’t hide or run from past mistakes. Very refreshing aspect.
I hope there will be a story for Laird and Caroline. That girl kicks butt!! Love Declan and Conroy grew on me, but still a little annoying. Of course, a good book needs a character like him. Great book!
Holy swoony alpha yummy!! Liam makes my heart pitter-patter and melts me with his protectiveness!
Working with members of the Shadow Alliance team, Liam needs just a little more help to figure out the puzzle pieces to a nightmarish evil plan they accidentally encountered. And in walks Addison – the woman who’s haunted his past for years. Liam doesn’t waste a moment in claiming Addison for his own, knowing that he can’t risk losing her again, and finds himself facing the challenge of winning her heart once more.
I adore Addison. She’s a darling mix of strong and soft, of vulnerable and determined. She knew herself, survived some hard hits, accepted what she was given, and wasn’t afraid to push through the tough to make the good she was after become solid and secure.
Liam is the kind of alpha hero I am drawn to over and over again — older, confident, strong, protective. He’s got the right kind of take-charge attitude to make others heed, but is gentle enough to balance out the tough. He chose what was right over what was easy, and wasn’t afraid to fight for what he wanted. I really wanted to become Addison just so I could have Liam’s attention focused all on me.
I love the family dynamic that was brought into this story from both Liam and Addison’s sides. Although I have to admit, since Deacon is a favorite CO’L character, I was partial to seeing more of him around and giggling at his and Liam’s banter.
And can I just say, that last rescue scene? That was a breath-stealing moment of beauty (and anxiety).
Mixing an engrossing bad-guy story line with an irresistible love story, SEAL at Sunrise captivates from beginning to end. I didn’t want to walk away and once I finished, I immediately dove back in to reread favorite moments. This is the kind of military romantic suspense love story I treasure and look forward to revisiting often.
SEAL AT SUNRISE, Silver Seals Series Book #12 By Caitlyn O’Leary
Seal At Sunrise is a wonderful second chance romance. Lieutenant Commander Liam McAllister is in the Mexican jungle working for DHS. When he discovers several dog tags, he finds a deep conspiracy that leads him right to the Navy, he requests covert intelligence help and Addison Sanders is sent in. Liam is shocked when he first sees her and realizes the feelings he had from 15 years ago are still there. Addison had left him then. Can they figure everything out and keep Addison off the killers radar? Will Liam and Addison work out their problems? You have to read to see!
This story has everything, lots of suspense, explosive chemistry, intrigue, angst, mystery, with some banter thrown in. Caitlyn has such a gift with these military stories. I always know when I pick up one of her books I will consistently get a great book, with awesome characters that make you care about them, the camaraderie of the men that work together is special, and a solid story line. Congrats Caitlyn, on a 5 star story!
Former Navy SEAL Commander, Liam McAllister reconnects with his former lover, the woman he’s never forgotten, Addison Sanders, who now works for the CIA, while they work with his team on a case covering a twenty year time period for missing and possibly murdered U.S. Navy women. While working the case, Liam tries to rekindle his past relationship with Addison amid investigating possible suspects, finding a connection with the missing women, following leads regarding a recently missing Navy CPO, Caroline Jakes, and having their location blown up. As the team gets closer to the dangerous men they’re hunting, who in turn become aware of the team and kidnap Addison and the rescued Caroline. Will Liam and his team find the women in time? Will Liam get his second chance at a happily ever after with Addison? Read this action packed, romantic suspense story to find out. I highly recommend this book. I was given an ARC by the author in return for my honest review.
This story is part of the Silver SEALs series, each one written by very talented authors.
If you are new to the Silver SEALs, the government has just formed a new group made up of former military men, for situations that need immediate action without the red tape. The leader of the group, Lt Commander Silas Branson.
This time the story belongs to former Navy SEAL Liam MacAllister. When he’s contracted for a mission in Mexico, he comes across not only with his intended assignment, but also with dog tags of Navy women who had disappeared as well as some bodies.
When he requested an intelligence liaison, to further the investigation, he comes across Addison Sanders. His former lover whom he hasn’t seen in 15 years. A woman he never forgot and has always loved.
As the two reacquaint themselves, the plot thickens and time is of essence. Liam gets help from his nephew and the group of former military men that work for him.
The story is action packed, with suspense, whodunit, hunky good guys and romance. But it’s more than that. It’s a story about family, and the possibility of second chances.
My only con was the fact that there were many secondary characters from the author’s previous books. If you have not read them, it can be confusing at times trying to remember who’s who.
That said, it’s a well written story and a great addition to this wonderful series.
I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
A little silver in his hair doesn’t diminish Liam as the soldier, leader, friend, and hot man even out of uniform–I mean in civies.
One mission leads the team to evidence of a devasting crime with repercussions that could have far-reaching effects. It also brings the one woman he’d lost years ago. A woman he’d never forgotten. Could this mission bring them together again?
Addison is all business now and not interested in rekindling the feelings that almost broke her when they ended. She has a new life and doesn’t need a man now. Right, if she just kept telling herself that she might believe it. Maybe not.
The men, former military, are a team of brothers in the heart if not blood. Their jabs are a riot but they always have the back of their teammates. They’ll need it for this one.
This was a super read. I love an older couple who are living with the decisions of their youth. All of the men are alphas and women as well. No weak people here. There are steam, action, wonderful characters and a storyline to remember.
Loved this book because it has a great story line all the way through, Sure there was some heat between Liam and Addison, but it didn’t overtake the book. His team were in the jungle looking for weapons but found way more than that. There is some action, love scene of course, but mainly working together with the group to find out who was kidnapping and killing Navy women. Loved the book. HEA. Received this book free for an honest review.
This wonderful read is filled with mystery, suspense, drama, tension, emotional turmoil, excitement, danger, action and romance. This book is a second chance at love for Liam and Addison. I loved these two together. Their chemistry was amazing and it was so easy to feel all the emotions (both the good ones and the bad ones) zinging back and forth between them. A simply delightful book that delivers all the romance you could ask for with a side order of edge of your seat thrills and chills.
This was an amazing second chance type of book.
Liam and Addison were in a relationship years ago that ended badly. Now they are forced to work together and hope to be able to work past this. However once Liam sets his sights on Addison again, he knows he can’t let her go again but they just need to get through this job first.
I loved reading about the push/pull that Addison had when she was dealing with Liam. Watching him in action or soft spoken word just for her made her want to give in but she had been so hurt before and didn’t now if she could trust him again.
I loved reading about the group as a whole and watched how they worked. It was fun to read why someone would either add them to the threat or eliminate them. It was fun to read about their thought process and see how the group reacted.
SEAL at Sunrise is a dynamic, edge of your seat, breathtaking story that has renewed my belief that time is no barrier to what the heart truly wants. Ms O’Leary is at her ultimate best in this superbly written account of the profound emotional impact a cold and uncaring home can have on an innocent child, and the insidious evil that resides in all fractions of the world.
Liam McAllister whom readers have met in previous stories, leads the way in this latest mission to solve the mystery around a horror discovery that spans over 15 years of torture and death. With Declan and his band of intense misfits providing support, the only element missing, turns out to be a ghost from Liam’s past. Addison Sanders left Liam and her heart behind 15 years earlier, so travelling the road of heartache and loss again is not high her bucket list. But when things are left unsaid, and the explosive chemistry they once enjoyed are still front and centre; all bets are off!
So prepare to be awed, inspired and aghast; as these are just a few of the emotions this exciting and deeply troubling story will extract as you turn the pages and delve into the mind of true degenerates, and also the hearts of two genuinely wonderful individuals with hope and love to spare. Liam and Addison are extraordinary characters in their own right, but the support cast is unique and charismatic and adds that little extra something that is always evident in Ms O’Leary’s books. A fabulous plot, exceptional world building and great storytelling, all add credibility and realism to this thrilling tale.
Basically, SEAL at Sunrise is one of Caitlyn O’Leary’s MUST read stories and one will stay with the reader long after the last page is turned.
Another fantastic military murder/mystery romance with lots of angst, who dunnit, and 2nd chance chemistry for Liam and the woman he never forgot…who is now helping on the investigation. Can she forgive and take a 2nd chance of will the killer get to her first. Loved it!!
Second chance romance with lots of heart, intrigue, and comradery. The book kept me engaged from beginning to end. Liam and Addison lost their chance once before due to some insecurities if they can figure out who and conquer the bad guys they may just get their second chance. A great addition to the silver seals series. I received a free copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
