Two sisters. One unforgettable summer.
While renovating an old beach house, Ivy and her sister, Shelly, suddenly have full occupancy after fire forces Summer Beach residents from their homes. Even the mayor, Bennett Dylan, who was Ivy’s high school crush, moves in. As the summer heats up, attractions simmer and feuds erupt. Living in the house Bennett had hoped could be a community center, he … Bennett had hoped could be a community center, he finds himself at odds with Ivy’s campaign for a bed-and-breakfast zoning change. And when valuable items disappear from the inn, Bennett’s friend Mitch, who owns the popular Java Beach coffee shop, is the prime suspect.
Shelly’s romance with Mitch cools when his old criminal record emerges, which leads her to question if Summer Beach is the right place for her.
Despite the chaos, Ivy has just one summer to save the house from an impending tax sale. And when a documentary filmmaker arrives to reconstruct the history of the old house and its secretive former owner, yet another secret emerges from an unlikely place.
Seabreeze Summer is a sweet summer beach read and the second novel in the Summer Beach series after the Seabreeze Inn. Book your reservation in this small beachside town of intriguing characters now.

… start from where you are. Every day can be a new beginning if you decide it is.”
The second of the Summer Beach series starts up right after the fire started by the Santa Ana winds destroyed the homes of those who lived up on the ride above Summer Beach. Many of them took Ivy and Shelly’s offer to stay at Las Brisas, including Bennett. A full house and they weren’t zoned for it. What kind of trouble could they get into?
The good will this gesture made allows for the zoning variance, and working on the old car that came with the estate,Bennett and Ivy find a doll and a trunk of clothing for it. Damage to the doll unveils another discovery of antiques that again bring in the FBI. However, one discovery goes missing and everyone becomes a suspect. The beginnings of the relationship Bennett and Ivy and Shelly and Mitch, all exploring relationships, reach rocky grounds with questions of trust.
Can anything else go wrong? Can the Seabreeze Inn reach enough profit to stay open? Will Ivy and Bennett grow closer? How about Shelly and Mitch? For answers to these and other questions, I’m headed to the third book “Seabreeze Sunset” and hopefully will find the answers! Highly recommended 5/5

All three Summer Beach books are wonderful-read them in order– this #2
I loved this book! Ivy discovered after her husband passed away that he spent their life savings on a beach house on Summer Beach. Her sister Shelly had just broken up with her boyfriend so they decide to go to Summer Beach and recreate there lives.
They are older women and it was exciting to see that even older women can recreate their lives. Recreate it they did. When they went there it was to sell the beach house but when they got there Ivy said no I decided to live here. She had no idea where that came from. She didn’t have much money so their family got together for a fix it up party. Their parents did this when they were young. I liked this idea. As they were fixing it up, they discovered a secret room and wow the things in the secret room. They notified the Sheriff on their finding and it brought in the FBI. The original owner had hidden journals and she wrote I think I have written before but I can’t find them. There is a lot of mystery going on but one thing kept with me was what is the owner had drawn Ivy to this beach house so she would discover the things.
This book has older women, their children, family, neighbors and their parents seemed I don’t know why I think this, a throwback to yesterday because they just seemed to bring the past to their future. It was just so unique. This is a book I think each person that reads it is going to take away different things. It is an amazing story and I have bought #2 and preordered #3.
More of a light mystery
Summer Beach is the second book in the Seabreeze Summer series and you really should read the first book, Seabreeze Inn, before reading this one, even though it can be read as a stand-alone. Summer Beach picks up the day after the ending of Seabreeze Inn. So the story-line continues with the same cast of characters also, along with a number of new ones being introduced.
I enjoyed this book and the characters even when I wanted to hit a few of them. As with the first book I thought this one was a bit long for the actual story-line. But it is a nice read even if it ends without really ending……………next book coming in the series it seems.
I received a free ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
Entertaining and interesting characters and story. Fun to read the different dynamic between characters and their progression toward love! Would recommend!

Set in a small beachside town this is a sweet story perfect for reading at the beach or a cozy spot at home. Intriguing plot involving romance, secrets and mystery. The characters are interesting and will make you want to know more about them. This is the second book in the series I have read and I will be looking for more.
Second book of a fun series. Great characters, good story line. Unfortunately it’s a cliffhanger so I’m anxiously awaiting the release of the next book

This is the 5th book I’ve read written by Jan Moran; she has done a great job at writing a good book; I can’t wait to read more of her books.
The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.
I loved the chemistry between the characters.

I found this book to be a very enjoyable read with the well written storyline and the wonderfully created characters that kept me totally engaged throughout the entire book!
A wonderful story that’s touching and moving, has romance, intrigue and mystery. The residents of Summer Beach come together after tragedy happens
Ivy and Shelly are desperately trying to make the house Ivy inherited into a profitable venue as an inn. If they can’t succeed, then Ivy will most likely lose the property in a tax sale since they can’t pay the back taxes but their neighbor isn’t making it easy for them to make the inn a success.
The story keeps the reader engaged and keeps you guessing. Great characters and a smooth flowing story line. Highly recommend.

When hearts are trying to heal enough to move on, things are a bit tangled and complicated in a small town. There is a piece on the past or a present hurt in play for each participant. Love and growth hurt a bit, as does change in most circumstances.
Wild and wacky mayhem ensues after a devastating local fire. The town and its people can recover if they work together. They have and will survive , yet there will be scars. Some scars are beautiful too.
Hanging onto fresh starts in a small town!

This is a wonderful sequel. Picks up right where the last one ended and is just as good, if not better. There is more mystery here and lots more romance. We get to meet new characters as locals are staying at the inn due to a wildfire. I just love books like this. Easy, breezy and so much fun!

Seabrezze Summer is the second book in the Summer beach series. This book picks up where the first one left off. This book will keep you on your toes. It will keep you guessing. I enjoyed the characters. I look forward to the next book to see what happens.
I read and reviewed an Advanced copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. All thoughts and opinions are of my own.
This picks up right up after where we left off in book one and oh boy do you need to get comfy before you start as it is as captivating as the first book. Seabreeze Inn hasn’t stopped throwing up surprises about the past and you really do have to wonder how many different hidey holes there are around the place not only do Ivy and Shelly get to hold items that could clear any debt they have but they also hold a mystery as to how they got there. There are relationships blossoming, relationships disintegrating, laughs, frustrations, new friends and hope within the pages as well as questions answered and then more questions thrown out there and when you get to the end I am sure you will be like me and want to scream “Noooooooo” and shake the book becuase you need to know what will happen next!!!
Jan Moran never fails to delight me. I know when I pick up one of her books I am about to take a journey with some intelligent, strong, very likeable women. The friendships and family bonds in her books are something I look forward to.
“Seabreeze Summer” picks up where “Seabreeze Inn” left off. Ivy, Shelly, and cousin Poppy are working together to make Seabreeze Inn a profitable endeavor. However at the end of the previous book many Summer Beach residents were forced out of their homes by a massive wildfire. Ivy and Shelly have opened the inn to anyone that needs lodging, even though some cannot afford to pay. This gives us several new characters. Imani and her son Jamir have lost everything except her flower shop Blossoms. Gilda, a magazine writer, brings her dog Pixie. While Ivy is providing assistance to community residents her neighbor Darla is still trying to prevent a zoning change that will allow Ivy to operate as a commercial inn. Ivy’s attraction to Mayor Bennet Dylan is growing, and Shelly finds a love interest.
Amidst the heart-warming relationships in the book there lurks a thief. Amelia Erickson, previous owner of the house, was a bit eccentric. It seems she hid treasures in various places throughout the house. In this book Ivy finds a stash of jewels but the “crowning” piece goes missing. This may mean the end of Shelly’s new romance. Her new love Mitch has spent time in prison for robbery so, of course, he is the sheriff’s main suspect.
All is not roses for Ivy and Bennet as they a rough patch when Ivy’s teen idol takes a liking to her. Can Bennet compete with that?
I am eager to read Book 3 in the series. These characters have stolen my heart and I want to visit longer with them.
This is a touching & moving story
filled with romance, mystery, & intrigue.
It begins when many residents of Summer Beach pull together after a horrible tragedy occured.
Join Ivy, Shelly, Bennett & Mitch as the tale
of the Seabreeze Inn continues.
I loved reading everything about this
must read story from the first pages
to the last!!
Seabreeze Summer is Book Two in the Summer Beach series written by Jan Moran. As Ivy, her sister Shelly and their niece struggle to keep the Seabreeze Inn afloat, hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of artwork and antiques are discovered hidden at the Inn along with beautiful stolen jewelry. The storyline was captivating and it is another favorite of mine. I rated it a five.
This is book two in the Summer Beach series. It picks up where book one left off, with a wild fire driving people from their homes. Ivy Marin and her sister Shelly open their house/iB&B/inn to their neighbors, welcoming them to safety and comfort as disaster strikes their homes. Neighbor Darla continues her unfriendliness, taking it steps further. As in book one, Ivy hopes that the city will change the codes in order to turn her house into a full inn. Amelia Erickson’s trail, or maybe her ghost, continues to lead Ivy to hidden treasures that she knows she can’t keep, and her relationship with Bennet intensifies. Can Shelly forgive Mitch for his past and move forward?
This is a very sweet story. I love the characters, their histories, and how the romances between Ivy and Bennet, and Shelly and Mitch, are progressing at a perfect pace. The setting fits the story beautifully. I’d love to visit a resort like Summer Beach, as long as I was included as a resident, not an outside tourist.
So much happens in this book. We get to know several of the people who have taken up residence in the inn. I like some of them, but not all. I mean, if I were Ivy, the inn owner, Gilda and Pixie would be out on their ears. That dog is nothing but trouble, big trouble from a little dog. I’d never have Ivy’s patience for Pixie’s shenanigans or Gilda’s disinterest in her dog’s destructiveness.
What I didn’t like about this book: first and foremost, the cliffhanger ending. I don’t like to be left hanging off a ledge wondering if things will resolve in the next book in the series. I also thought that there was more than a little mindreading in the book. That’s a term that one of my kid’s grad school professors used to describe writing where a character knows things they can’t possibly know. One example in this book is when Mitch is mixing a sauce, and Ivy knows, without seeing what he put into it or tasting it, that it’s lemony. There are also a few instances of information dumping that pop up. These weren’t enough to interfere with my enjoyment of the book, just things I noticed.
Enough of the negative. On the positive side, I’m eager for the next installment in this series. I need to know what happens with Shelly. How things progress with Ivy and Bennet. What happens with Darla’s unfriendliness? Can Pixie be trained? Can Gilda learn to be a good dog parent? Will Ivy find more treasures hidden in the house or its environs? Will the inn succeed? Where will Ivy and Bennet drive to next in that gorgeous red convertible? Most of all, will Ivy be able to raise the funds needed to pay the tax bill on the house?
This is a perfect beach-type read. If you like light and breezy books with a bit of mystery and some romance, this would be a great choice.
I received an ARC of this book from the author. While I appreciate her generosity in sharing her work with me, it had no effect on this review. All opinions in this review express my true and honest reactions to reading this book.
Seabreeze Summer #2 – Picks up the next day from where Seabreeze Inn ended. The storylines are interesting and I like that Amelia is still plays a great part when the house gives up another secret.
More characters are introduced ranging from locals to family. The romances are out in the open. While parts of the redundancies in Ivy’s head bored me, overall this is still a good read but not as good as S. Inn.
Everyone did Mitch wrong, especially Bennett, which disappointed me since I expected better of the group. The one responsible is too easy to figure out. I found this author on Booksprout. 4*
Seabreeze Inn #1 – This is my first read by this author and I enjoyed the story. I thought Ivy was a bit too much with her constant treatment of Bennett; she is too old for such immature behavior.
The story was too good to put down and I really liked all the characters, even Ivy after she wised up. The family, the town and the friends were all a good match to the good storylines. There was a good mystery about the previous owner and some items, and a bit of intrigue about Ivy’s deceased husband. There are always rumors in a small town and Ivy heard them.
The story is complete but this is the first of a series and I am interested in the next book. I found this book on Booksprout. 4*
