“The shadowy defeated version was something he just couldn’t handle, but that tiny woman all riled up and feisty was a different story.”
Sophia Prescott is a force to be reckoned with, especially when she bursts into Dr. Weston Sawyer’s pediatric practice demanding his attention for her son. But after a heated exchange about what turns out to be a non-emergency, she huffs and puffs like she wants blow his house down . . . . and then leaves. And that . . . was that. So when she basically comes back begging for a job as his office manager, Wes has every intention of turning her down, and rightfully so . .. right?
Enjoy the sparky exchanges between a thoroughly defeated divorcee and a withered down widower as they progress from being tossed about like broken glass in the sea to landing beside each other on the beach as new creations, “pressed down on every side by troubles, but . . . not crushed”. And that beside-each-other-thing ends up working just fine.
BRILLIANT! Ms. Lowe expertly handles the issue of domestic abuse. Wes and Sophia’s story is a wrought with deep heartache. Their journey to wholeness was beautiful to watch. I’ve enjoyed my time at Sunset Cove. This community will hold a special place in my heart.
Recommend to readers who enjoy inspirational, contemporary fiction.

Oh Sophia. I’ve been waiting for your story since the first book in the Carolina Coast series. I could tell there were so many layers we weren’t seeing yet and I was right. Your story was so very much worth the wait. And adding Wes & his layers to the mix was exactly what your story needed. Both of you have been broken by life, heart-fragile from the loss of dreams & love & the life you thought you would be living. Yet, God is still in the business of making something beautiful from the storms of life, and your stories show that perfectly.
Can I also say here (well, i’m gonna anyway) that everyone needs surrogate big brothers like Lincoln & August??? My heart melted all over again when I saw (and heard about) how they protected Sophia. Ladies, when you find a man who will love you fiercely and will also protect your friends, you’ve got a keeper. As always, it’s good to spend more time with Opal, Josie, and the Knitting Club (aka the well-meaning & often hilarious elderly ladies in town) but it was Linc & August & Wes who stood out in Sea Glass Castle. (Side note: Do you think they would stand for a nickname like the girls have with the Sand Queens? I mean, one of them did say “I know I’d do stupid like a boss if it made my woman happy” so I think we need to make that happen haha.)
Bottom Line: Once again, T.I. Lowe takes emotionally broken characters and wraps them in grace, love, and hope, allowing us to see ourselves in each protagonist even if our life experiences have been very different. Sea Glass Castle is a perfect blend of southern sass, small town living, laughter, tears, and redemption. It can be read as a standalone (just like its predecessors) but if you’re not reading the whole series, you are really missing out.
(I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the publisher. In the interest of full disclosure, I also received compensation from the publisher to coordinate an instagram tour for this series with JustRead Tours, a company I partially own. All views expressed are still only my honest opinion & were not in any way influenced by compensation for coordinating the tour.)
Reading Sea Glass Castle was bittersweet because I was so excited to read it since I have loved the rest of the series. However, it made me kind of sad since reading it meant the series was really over. Hands down, the Carolina Coast series has been my favorite series of 2020. I will truly miss getting to hang out with the Sand Queens and the Knitting Club and the rest of the cast of characters from Sunset Cove.
This story centers around the last Sand Queen, Josie. Josie and her son have returned home after her divorce from her pro football player husband. In one of her not so finest moments, she meets Wes who is the new doctor in town. Both of them have a good bit of baggage from their past to deal with, but they do seem drawn to one another. I really liked watching their relationship develop.
Although this can be read as a standalone, do yourself a favor and read the entire series. That way you will appreciate the updates on the other characters in this story. Even though I was sad to see this series end, I was thrilled to find out that one of the characters from this book is getting his own series. Maybe we’ll get a visit from the sand queens again. Readers can hope! Fingers crossed!
Sea Glass Castle is the delightfully satisfying conclusion of the Carolina Coast series. Everything about this book from the packaging to the characters to the plot and heart of the story exudes excellence. Consider this my standing ovation for the author and publishing team, bravo!
The second chances and redemption in this story had my heartstrings looped in pretty little bows. The entire cast of characters ebbed and flowed in a tide of united love and protection. My reader heart soared as Weston, Sophia, and especially little Collin were wrapped in the genuine cares and prayers of their friends, family, and community. If the Sunset Cove community wasn’t fictional, I’d be packing up my family for the coast because we could all use a support system that includes men like Lincoln Cole and August Bradford.
I said it before and I’ll say it again, T.I. Lowe gently probes the heart with authenticity, hope, and humor. The quintessential coastal town of Sunset Cove is an irresistible setting for this heartwarming and masterfully delivered series. I highly recommend Sea Glass Castle by T.I. Lowe and the entire Carolina Coast series.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher and was under no obligation to post a review. Romance, clean, contemporary; Series, but stand alone read; Christian Faith elements
Sophia and Wes’s story is a gorgeously detailed romance between two honest hurting hearts, trying to heal from past hurts and lost dreams. While differing disappointments and sadness in their past, they both offend each other initially. Wes moves into their small town as a new Doctor, and hopes to escape the sadness and disappointments in his past, while Sophia is moving on from a violent failed marriage. Sophia’s friends and Wes’s friends in town see how well they suit, and as Sophia and Wes make an ‘arrangement’ that seems platonic, they help them find where their true hearts lie.
Beautifully poignant, moving, honest, introspective and heartfelt, with strong side characters from previous novels in this series, and of course, their attraction to each other, a perfect novel with faith, hope, and some beautiful chemistry between the two. Lovely segues into the side characters featured in the past novels in this series (I’m going back to read the others now!).
I received an ARC from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for a fair and honest review, my opinions are my own.
MENDED HEARTS = BLENDED HEARTS
In T.I. Lowe’s Sea Glass Castle (Carolina Coast Series Book 3), she writes a beautiful story of two hearts that desperately need mending growing into two hearts that are blending. Sophia Prescott has had her whole world turned upside down. She has gone from being the Trophy Wife of a Professional Football Player to a Single Mom who can barely make ends meet. That is what happens when you are the Victim of Domestic Violence and you decide to press charges against your “Important to the Franchise” Cheating Husband. She was a highly sought after professional in her own right before the Team had her blackballed.
Dr. Weston Sawyer knows about broken hearts and broken dreams as well. While living in South Alabama, his wife and unborn son were killed by a drunk driver. His life was changed in an instant and his heart is heavy. He has found his way to Sunset Cove where he hopes to embrace a new and different way of life.
He gets that all right in the form of one spitfire, Sophia Prescott. There are many forces behind the scenes trying to get the two of them together. They are like oil and water! Yet at some core level, they each recognize that deep hurt, neediness and longing in the other. As all things are in the hands of the Almighty, they find themselves working in the same office and must find a way to make things work. They begin to recognize traits in the other that they greatly appreciate and realize they compliment each other. Before long, they can actually stand to be around each other.
One of my favorite parts of this book that she uses Wes to show a man’s true strength of character and resolve when he is pushed to his limit by Sophia’s ex. He handles himself with dignity and grace and does not allow himself to get drawn into the muck with the lesser man. What a great lesson for all of us! This is a story filled with heartbreaks, heartaches, heart mends and ultimately heart blends.

Sea Glass Castle captures the love story between Sophia and Wes and is the final installment of the series. These two characters were so broken but together through friendship and faith found a second chance at love. I thought this was a heartwarming and inspiring read. The author has a special talent in writing poignant stories; this one focused on heartache, betrayal, and loss that God redeemed through an unlikely friendship. I especially loved the ending and how the author tied all the pieces together in a beautiful visual description of sea glass. Now I want her to continue with a story about Seth. He needs his own story.
Welcome back to Sunset Cove, a quaint little town set along the coast in this third book in the Carolina Coast series. The Sand Queens are back in full force, with two of the three now happily married and one of them returned back to town divorced and sorely wounded in spirit. Sophia Prescott along with her young son is back in town after her high profile divorce badly in need of a job and some girl time with her friends, Opal and Josie.
Opal’s new neighbor, Dr. Weston Sawyer, a pediatrician with a sorrowful past, needs an office manager. After meeting Josie in less than ideal circumstances, he is certain she is the last woman he would ever hire. However, best laid plans are often circumvented when someone puts their mind to it. Josie gets a second chance to prove herself capable in spite of her outspoken manner. With sparks flying, are Wes and Josie going to be able to get any work done?
Read this entertaining summer romance filled with friendship, faith, healing, and second chances. This novel can be read as a standalone, but I believe it works better if you’ve read the first two books to have the background story. A great ending to a charming southern romance!
This copy was received from Tyndale House Publishers and Netgalley. The above thoughts and opinions are wholly my own.
#SeaGlassCastle #NetGalley
Sea Glass Castle is aother sweet, inspirational romance in the Carolina Coast series. Wes needed an office manager for his pediatric practice, and Sophia needed a job. Their work relationship and friendship starts off rocky as they overcome some obstacles. In the end, they help each other work through a lot of past hurts and heartaches. If you enjoy contemporary Christian romance stories, you’ll enjoy this conclusion to a fun series.
**I received an advanced reader copy of this book from the publisher and Netgalley. All opinions expressed are my own.**
This book was such a wonderful ending to the Carolina Coast series, but I am sad to see it end! While reading the first two books, I didn’t know if I would like Sophie’s book as much as I did Opal and Josie’s books, but I am happy to say I did. Sea Glass Castle was a very emotional story. Both Sophie and Wes are healing from their own personal tragedies that draws them together. I loved how they disliked each other so much at first, but as they began to open up and share themselves with each other, they find they have more in common than they imagined. Without giving away any spoilers, I loved the ending as well. I highly recommend this entire series.
I cannot begin to tell you how much I enjoy this story. I am going to miss these characters. Wes stole my heart. I am so glad that he was paired with Sophia. Wes and Sophia had past tragedies that they had to come to terms with before they can have a romantic relationship. I appreciated the advice of Sophia’s mother when Sophia asked her how to help Wes. Colin is such a darling and Miss Delma is hilarious. I hope Seth will have his story at some point. He could have a Christmas story. The friendship among Sophia, Josie, Opal, Linc, August and Wes was so encouraging. It reminds readers of what friendships should look like.
‘I know I’d do stupid like a boss if it made my woman happy.”
This was just the most precious book! I discovered T.I. Lowe a few months ago and have now read the three books in this series. I love discovering a new-to-me author with a back list of books. I am so excited to read the rest of her books. She is now a favorite. This book is the proverbial icing on the cake of the series. Lowe just blows it away with this one.
Sophia Prescott, one of the Sand Queens of Sunset Cove has just not been herself since her divorce from a popular pro football player. In more ways than one. She is back in Sunset Cove with her family and the two other Sand Queens, Opal and Josie, both of whom got their own book in this series. Seriously, you need to read these books. Sophia has never even thought about a second chance till she meets Dr. Weston Sawyer when she takes her 3 year old son in to see the new pediatrician in town. And things did most assuredly did not go well in that encounter!
Weston Sawyer is most definitely not impressed with Sophia Prescott. And he is NOT looking for love, either. He has moved to Sunset Cove and is still reeling from the death of his wife and baby three years earlier. He is simply existing through the pain.
‘Isolation could become its own form of cancer. It invaded any healthy cell of hope and killed off any faith that life could get better.’
Lowe takes us completely into this place and into the lives of these folks again as she weaves seamlessly a story of new beginnings and second chances. God’s grace in the lives of these two wonderful people is such a wonder to behold. He brings light into the darkest of pain and disappointment and the light shines even brighter. I was so touched by her handling of these hurts and heartaches of Weston’s and Sophia’s.
I cried more than once reading this and laughed out loud in a good many more. I love those Sand Queens and also the Knitting Club, who know more than a thing or two about life, and I think the three guys need a club name, too! I loved their part of the story. Such a wonderful read. It just made me feel so good inside. I highly recommend this one, folks. Don’t miss it.
*My thanks to Tyndale House Publishing for a copy of this novel. The opinion stated here is entirely my own.
I’ve been wanting Sophia’s story since the first book in this series, and y’all, Sea Glass Castle does not disappoint. T. I. Lowe adds so much depth to Sophia that readers walk through her pain and experience hope with her.
Wes Sawyer has experienced his own heartache, and these two souls are drawn together (after a rough introduction). Lowe allows readers to peel back the layers to this story to get to the heart of finding happiness after life-changing disappointments and loss.
We also get more time wiht Opal, Josie, Lincoln, and August (from the previous books) in this one. And let me just say, the Lincoln and August step in to protect Sophia is sweet and sometimes humorous. This bond of friendship between the Sand Queens is indeed a deep on that extends to their significant others.

Holy Pediatrics! If my sons’ pediatrician was half way as hot as Wes Sawyer is described in this book, I wouldn’t have minded all of those office co-pays. Sea Glass Castle is the third book in The Carolina Coast Series by T. I. Lowe and it is my favorite of the three. However, I would strongly suggest reading all three so you can enjoy the beautiful conclusion. It will mean more to the reader. This book featured sassy Sophia, who had been an abused divorcee and is raising a three year old son. That sweet boy, by the way is extremely adorable and the star of the book in my opinion. And it also features the preppy, proper, and widowed Dr. West Sawyer, the new pediatrician in town. There is tension, angst, sorrow, and hope for a new future. This book knocked my socks off and I loved it. I truly recommend for any contemporary romance lover who likes clean and sweet stories that inspire and offer hope in a dark place.
