The Coven’s adventures in Vermenia created a ripple they could not predict long after Joanna and her men returned safely home to Canderfey. The university now has visitors: the hidden Scrivens community, refugees running from their own goverment. While Joanna is thrilled to see her family again and learn more about her magic and the history of the Scrivens, others are less enthusiastic at the … newcomers’ arrival.
Canderfey University’s President is resistant to the changes taking place on his campus. Soon it appears as if he has reason to be, with mysterious incidents damaging the Scrivens’ reputations. Joanna will fight against anyone to keep her family and the other innocent members of the community safe from suspicion and hatred, but tensions rise even within the coven as Aiden seeks to keep peace between all parties. Can he hold his coven together or are the fractures he senses growing too deep to repair?
Scrivens is book 3 of The Librarian’s Coven series and contains mature content.

This series is fantastic, 4.5
In this 3rd book of Kathryn Moon’s Librarian’s Coven series, we get to see what happens to a coven when there is internal tension (with some outside influences that make it much worse). It wasn’t my favorite of the series but I thought it did a great job moving the plot along and adding more awesome characters to this spectacular world.
Kathryn Moon does a great job at making you fall for characters and really root for them. In Scrivens, our favorite coven has to deal with helping get the immigrants settled in and protecting them against prejudices by those at Candefay. I really enjoyed some of the new side characters: the adorable child who makes a new friend *wink wink* and Joanna’s family. I definitely wanted to punch a certain young adult woman in the face for how she tried to destroy the coven bond, but I think she redeemed herself a bit at the end. I liked the adaption of the words with pictures and the different mediums used to write. I did think there was come repetitiveness in the storyline with the jealously and lack of communication that made it not hold my attention 100% of the time, but I still think it was a great 3rd book in this 4 book series. No dont get me wrong, I love Callum the most out of the 3 men, but I thought he got way too much Joanna time in this book. I definitely felt like Isaac got the shaft and when Aiden finally got over his hang ups, they had an steamy make up hahaha. The steam/sex scenes were amazing in this one, especially with the M/M element!! I loved Callum taking charge, so freaking hot haha.
The narration was on point yet again! I love this combination of Sienna and Cornell. I usually am not a fan of narrators doing British accents because a lot of the time they mess it up or it sounds strained. I did not think that at all with this series. Amazing job yet again! I will definitely add these narrators on my 5 star list! I thought their take on this one really added to the story, especially when the Ancients took the stage. The voices and feelings were amazing.
Definitely continuing to recommend this series. I also want more Bryce and his coven, which I know will happen since I started book 4 right after finishing book 3 on audio
I love this series!!! This book was a great continuation of the last book. I can’t wait to read the next one! I have so many questions and theories for the next book. But I love these characters, the world building is amazing, and I love the plot. This is a must read series! I love Kathryn Moon!
Overall: 5/5
I received an ARC copy of this book to review.
So much action and intrigue. These books just get better.
The Scrivens Magic’s is so intriguing and different and they are still learning the limits and all that can be done with it, also that as other kinds of magic they too have more powerful individuals.
It was great to see the insecurity that all the members was suffering through, because just like in real life nothing is perfect all the time.
This one ended in a kind of cliffhanger, so I will be waiting for the resolution.
Let me start with, this is an honest review of a copy provided by the author, I received nothing in return, otherwise Kathryn would do nothing else in life but write books for me.
So I finished this book last week, started writing reviews at least 3 times before I deemed them unworthy, and took around 2-3 to sort my thoughts after finishing it.
This is the third book in the Librarian’s Coven series, which started with WrittenWritten: A Reverse Harem Fantasy Romance (The Librarian’s Coven Book 1) (Kathryn’s first published and my first RH read). The first book was published almost a year ago, and several other were published between the series installments. I mention this because you can see Kathryn’s evolution as a writter if you only read TLC books. Also, and this is something not authors are capable of, each book has it’s own world and the writting reflects that. Different paces, different feelings come from the pages but all with that Kathryn Moon touch that draws you in.
One day I’ll be able to own hardcover copies of all her books and expose them on my shelfs as works of art. That’s what the books are, from cover to content.
Now on to the actual book thoughts.
This is not a book you can read to “turn your brain off”, all of Kathryn’s books will put your brain in overdrive.
By now we have all the main characters stabilished, but this series is not a dull one that has several books revolving around relationship drama. Actually in this book while there is some relationship drama, not unfounded and so well explained and understandable it makes me ache for Aiden and Joanna and shows how a lack of communication can affect every aspect in life, you almost forget this is labeled as a romance. So if your focus is on steamy scenes and romance driven plot, try another book, this one is about life and magic and, in a way, prejudice and fear.
Actually, the whole plot of this book is about prejudice and fear and politics. Even better, how those things apply in an University that should encourage difference and acquisition of knowledge instead of judging what you do not know.
The Scrivens, including Joanna’s newfound family, are coming. Fleeing from a country without other kinds of magic, where they are persecuted by those in power that don’t abide by their magical abilities. Looking for a place where they are more accepted, and can learn more about their gift and start using their magic.
Too bad prejudice against the unknown and outsiders is something inherently human, and not all have the wherewithal to deal with it in a healthy way, leading to them spreading fear in an unconsequential way.
We learn more about the fears of our beloved coven, which shines a better light on their actions and personalities.
We meet the Hollow’s sibilings. And understand better who they are and how their magic works.
Best of all, we get to see Bryce’s shifter form, and learn a bit more about their origin and who exactly they are.
The bad part? It ends in a somewhat cliffhanger, a hook to the next book. This is not to say the mystery and plot of the book were not resolved, it’s just that all of Kathryn’s books leave you a little bereft after you finish them.
From an artistic point of view, this series would read amazingly well in a graphic novel format, or even if adapted as an animated series for tv. Amazon Prime I’m looking at you.
Waiting anxiously for my next Kathryn Moon fix.Kathryn Moon
Scriven has the same amazing characters! This plot has deep conflicts, that are realistic and heartbreaking at times. This is very well written that still is expanding Joanna and her mens’ life. I love that you get to know Isaac more in this addition to the series. I received an advanced copy and am voluntarily leaving an unbiased, honest review.
Joanna and her coven are back again shortly after we left off in book two. The Scrivens are on their way and the coven is at the center of everything that is happening.
I saw one review rate it a 2 * because it had a cliffhanger. It does, somewhat. I would consider it the set up for book four rather than a true cliffhanger. The book plot was resolved in this book, and at the end a new force enters the picture giving us the idea of what to expect for the next book. It’s what most series do, except for police procedurals and the like. Even those have them at times.
As for the rest of the book, I thought it was a coherent plotline and the characters grew some. The relationships are being worked on, which lends some realism to the fantasy world. There’s no “I see you, I love you, everything is wonderful” here. A relationship has ups and downs and it’s work. That is reflected here with Aiden and Joanna. There are a few subplots running through, her family, getting the scrivens settled, some other things I cant say without spoiling things. I felt the characters stayed true to their previous selves.
Overall, I would recommend, but you’ll need to read the first two if you haven’t already.
It was an amazing blend of all things Moon. She made you feel like you were struggling right along with the characters as everything was going on. I felt like I was on a rollercoaster ride, thrilled, scared, tense, wonder, excitement. It was all there and I’m glad I was able to read another great book by Moon. But why the cliffhanger???
Amazing! This story grabbed me from the the first chapter and left me ready for more when I got to the last chapter. The characters are wonderful and so well written and I absolutely love the interactions between the various characters and the growth that we see in them. I look forward to the next chapter of TLC!
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Kathryn Moon knocks it out of the park again! I love this story and these characters and this book was all about growth between them. A lot of romance novels just have everything perfect and it’s unrealistic and can get boring. Aiden and Joanna have some major growing pains and even see what life would be like without each other. I love that it was uncomfortable and they had to work to figure things out. It made them so much more relatable!
My only complaint is that I feel like the story abruptly ended and I still wanted (read: needed) to know what happens with the Scrivens and the ancients. Can’t wait for the next installment!
Out of the three books so far in the Librarians Coven series, I have to say this one is my favorite. I love how the author switched things up and took things slightly darker.
Of course the work is flawless as it always is. The storyline grips you immediately and keeps you playing the guessing game throughout the book.
This is a must read series, the main characters are yummy and the secondary ones have me begging for side stories!
This is another amazing book, and I am on tenterhooks for the next installment! Kathryn Moon picks up where we left off in book two, and we see many familiar faces (in addition to our favorite covens) but are also introduced to new characters early on in the novel.
Joanna and her coven must contend not only with political machinations regarding Scrivens and outside unforeseen dangers lurking nearby but also personal struggles that threaten their happiness and the stability of their bonds.
Tensions are high among many of the people of Canderfey when Vermenians – many of whom are Scrivens – move in to town. Joanna’s power is still relatively new to her, and she is excited to have the chance to help her family and other Scrivens explore the possibilities of the magic and learn more about its limits. But as with everything, any magic can be used for both good and bad, and when things in town start taking turns for the worse and unexplained incidents occur, fingers begin pointing to these newly-settled outsiders with their unique kind of magic.
Kathryn Moon creates intricately layered storylines to get you hooked, unique characters with depth and with whom you quickly form rapport, and some deliciously steamy scenes that you’ll want to reread again and again as you fan yourself with your hand and wonder, “where can I sign up for that?!”
Scrivens will take you on a whirlwind of adventures, tugging your emotions around like a kite in a storm but one whose string you’ll hold fast to in order to find out what the heck could possibly happen next.
If you haven’t read the first two books in the series, you will need to read those first in order to fully understand and appreciate Scrivens.
