It’s time for hand letterer Jamie Lang to pay up on her bet from last fall to handsome, wealthy Kit Perry and finally go out to dinner with him. As Kit takes her to the pre-opening of a new high-end Nordic restaurant in downtown Seattle snow begins falling. Never a good thing in Seattle. The evening begins on a lovely note. The setting is romantic. The food is delicious. Everything is … perfect—until a fellow dinner guest apparently chokes to death a few tables away. And it looks like murder.
Now Jamie, Kit, and the rest of the diners and staff are snowed in with a dead body. The police are delayed. Everybody has a motive. It’s up to Jamie and her hand lettering, sleuthing, and murder-solving skills to stop the killer from striking again.

“I quite enjoyed the first book in this new series, from the clever writing to the killer hiding in plain sight. Then there is Jamie’s business, hand lettering, something I admire but cannot do myself. I think I should have paid more attention to my cursive in grade school!”—Storeybook Reviews

Jaimie is finally going out with Kit for the bet she lost. It’s to Kit’s brother’s new restaurant, very fancy, soft opening. Unfortunately, someone dies. Is it murder? And how? Jamie gets to actually investigate without anyone trying to stop her, since she’s snowed in with the other guests and it could take a while to get the police out.
This is a fun series and I adore the characters. I like the little bit of romance that is happening too! I know who I want Jamie to end up with!

Fun series with different story line and interesting characters. This is the 6th book of the series but it is a stand alone. Jamie Lang is a hand letterer with a penchant for sleuthing. The author provides plenty of red herrings to make this a fun mystery

SCRIPT OF ALL DIGNITY is the sixth book in the Hand Lettering Mysteries series. Each will stand on its own, but I would strongly suggest reading them in the order of release.
This is a fun, locked-door, cozy mystery set up as a real-life dinner murder mystery. Imagine going to a special event and one of the dinner guests – who is so despicable that everyone present has a motive to be the murder – drops dead.
This was fun. Because of a snow storm, Jamie and Kit were officially asked to assist with the investigation. They didn’t know they were working against a clock to prevent a second murder.
There were some great funny moments included. If I’m ever in Seattle, I’ll be looking for a pair of Big Foot slippers and skyline boxers!
I really enjoy these short, yet well-written stories and look forward to each in the series.
Note: While I received this book as a gifted ARC via Booksprout, my opinions are my own and are given freely.

Jamie must pay up on her bet with Kit. She has dinner with him at Pilcrow. The evening is interrupted by a suspicious death. Almost all emergency services are busy with the winter storm. Ridge’s friend, Jim, and Jamie search for answers. I enjoyed Jamie “channeling” Ridge and recommend Script of All Dignity.

This is my first time reading Ms. Robyns and I enjoyed it. It was a fun cozy. The characters were good and the mystery was interesting. I really enjoyed the craft part. I didn’t know much about hand lettering and it was fascinating. I’ll be reading more of this series.

In Cedar Valley, WA, Jaimie Lang is a professional “hand letterer” — unlike handwriting, it actually is creating artwork from script. She had done the lettering on the menus for Pilcrow. Now she is ready to allow multimillionaire Kit Perry to collect on his bet from last Fall by going as his plus-one to Pilcrow’s private, invitation-only pre-opening dry run, for a fabulous sixteen-course dinner. Pilcrow is the little paragraph symbol you see when you type and it means “the beginning of a new idea”, which was what Shawn Bronn, the two-star Michelin Chef, wanted to convey.
They entered the new Nordic/French fusion restaurant in downtown Seattle as the snow began falling. But despite the romantic setting, delicious food, and overall perfect evening, a fellow dinner guest – Slim Watson, Shawn’s father-in-law — apparently choked to death a few tables away – and somehow it has all the appearance of a murder!
Unfortunately, the timing and intensity of the snowfall was not fortuitous either. Jamie, Kit, the other diners and staff are snowed in with the dead body and the police cannot get to them through the blizzard. And it seems that everybody attending has a motive for murdering Slim, so Jamie has to employ all of her skills to stop the killer from striking again! Will she solve the crime before someone else gets killed?
This story was well-written, had a good story line and likable characters. It would be best to read the other stories for background on some of the characters but, even without doing that, the reader should be able to follow the story fairly well. Grab your copy and enjoy a good mystery!
This was a quick cute read. I enjoyed reading this. I like the characters and the story. I look forward to reading more.

Even if you don’t like craft style books, this one is a definite read. You will learn new things like I did. Loved learning about the paper and script types. Actually had to look it up to verify.
Nice cozy mystery or easy to read if that is your thing.
Paying back a debt leads to involvement in snowy murder case. Caught between two men. Ready to choose? Some Rabbit trails to follow. Lots going on and to learn.
My first book in series and by this author. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Easily can be read as a stand alone book.
This is my honest and freely given review. I did receive an ARC book.
Brilliant! This is one of my favorite series regardless of genre. The author is a master of misdirection, foreshadowing and misinformation. The reader is also teased by the ongoing relationships between Jamie, Kit and Ridge in a way that makes you desperate for the next installment.
In this book Jamie is paying up on the zombie bet with Kit, which means a romantic dinner. He takes her to his half brother Shawn’s new Nordic/French fusion restaurant, Pilcrow, which she did the lettering for (menus, etc). During the 16 course tasting meal Shawn’s father in law dies of an apparent choking. After further investigation by the ME, it is clear Big Slim was murdered. Everyone in the restaurant except for Jamie has a motive to want him dead. She pairs up with the ME to investigate until the homicide detectives can get to the restaurant through the blizzard. Jamie solves the murder just in time for Ridge to rescue her from the storm and bring her home.

Jamie agreed to go to dinner with Kit as payment for a bet.
Naturally there ends up being a death at the dinner. Add a blizzard to the mix, confounding motives, and a body spray from her dead fiancé and Jamie is probably in well over her head.
Jamie’s great at solving murders. If a man has to seduce you with talk about a dead man, he’s probably more of a seducer than a real, everyday man who wants to be a part of your real life.
What happens next with Jamie, a possible new beau, and an old friend- looking forward to reading next time
