Simon has one secret and two problems. The secret? An anonymous blog featuring satin and lace. The problems? Two crushes. One on his gorgeous, charming roommate, Taylor. And another on his charismatic online admirer, Mr. Smith. When Taylor suggests they start hooking up, Simon is more than happy to agree, even if it means putting a lid on his feelings. After all, no-strings fun is better than … no-strings fun is better than nothing at all, right?
Except Simon’s not sure that lid will stay shut, especially when he starts to fall in love. But with Mr Smith in the same situation, advice is in short supply.
And there’s no chance Taylor and Smith are the same person… is there?

This former serial, turned book, is insanely hot! If you like guys that love to wear lingerie then you will love this. I adore Simon and Taylor. They had a fantastic connection from the outset and the steamy parts are peppered with moments of sweetness.
I’m not one for re-reading a lot but I’ve read this several times.
This book is from a new author to me. I’m happy to have found another MM author I enjoy reading. I loved this book. Although I prefer books with manly men, this book about a guy wearing sexy panties didn’t take away from the story for me. I enjoyed reading the sexy parts and readinb about their love story. It was adorable.
I will definitely read more from this author.
The book is amazing! the story is funny and witty, with wonderful characters and a plot full of romantic despair that complemented perfectly the light kinks catalysts of the story. Without spoiling the book for you, let me tell you that the author managed all the little mystery, the entanglement of the plot and misunderstandings beautifully, balancing everything in a very humorous way. I enjoyed it a lot! A wonderful reading!
Simon is a big, sweet, shy guy who has a crush on Tyler his roommate. Tyler is a flirt whose not looking for a boyfriend. These two start hooking up with each other even though the room together.
This book is sweet, roommates-to-lovers, mantises and steamy sex. This was hot, sweet with a HEA story and I definitely recommend!
Independent reviewer for Gay Romance Reviews, I was gifted my copy of this book.
Too stinking cute is my lasting feeling about this book, and ya’ll know I’m all about the book feelings!
Simon is running an online blog, showing how he feels about satin and lace. He has a crush on his room-mate, Taylor and another on his online friend, Mr Smith. Taylor suggests they hook up, a *friends with benefits* thing, very quickly though, both men find themselves falling for the other, and HARD. But Taylor has a crush on the guy who runs the blog page he frequents. Is everyone who they appear to be?
What I especially loved about this one was, it took them so bloody long to figure it all out! Obviously, WE know who they are talking to, but I kept yelling at them, it was so clear what was going on!
It’s steaming hawt! I mean, dealing with a guy in lace?? Pass the fan, please! OOOEEEE these boys know how to get down and dirty, yes ma’am, they do! And when they finally, FINALLY figure out who is who?? Not a patch on when they finally, FINALLY admit their feelings for each other. About blew my kindle up, I tell ya!
The feelings these guys are deep, and I don’t really think either of them realised it HOW deep they went, til they started bumping uglies, you know?? The attraction is clear as day, but the feelings?? Not so much, and I loved watching them creep out of both Taylor and Simon.
Loved Taylor’s reaction to finding out Simon loves satin and lace, loved what he does for the other man. That there, shows just how deep his feelings went, and he didn’t know.
Both men have a say, in the first person, so we get it all in glorious detail!
I haven’t read Charlie Novak’s work before, but darn it, if my wish list didn’t grow by a few more books!
I wrote 4 stars at the top of the page, and I usually stick with that but now I’m typing this up? I can’t find a single thing to take that star off for!
So!
5 full and shiny stars!

It’s not always easy sharing things with other people. The more personal it is, the harder it could be. Simon has several secrets. 1 He loves wearing lace underwear, 2. He writes a blog about his kink, and frequently messages with someone named Mr Smith. 3. He has a big crush on his roommate, Taylor.
Taylor has a secret of his own: he has a crush on his roommate, Simon, and is messaging someone with an online blog, called thick boy in lace. Their worlds collided over a box of batteries. While no secrets were spilled, they begin a mutually agreed upon NSA sexual relationship. These fellas are both so darn cute and adorable, and so going to regret the NSA at some point. It is inevitable. Can they figure it all out, and give it an honest go of things? I recommend you read and find out! This book is a fun read for a quiet afternoon…or any time of day, really. I enjoyed every minute of it.

Super sweet story, delightful fluffy rom-com. Simon was a big ole teddy bear and Taylor a huge flirt. Loved the Thick Boy in Lace twist! Friends to lovers. Charlie Novak was a new to me author and I’ll be looking for more by her. Definitely enjoyed this story.
I am voluntarily leaving a review form an ARC that I received. My reviews are solely based on my thoughts and opinions.
Simon and Taylor have the chemistry down pat. This story is a delight to read! It’s got lace panties and toys and emotional connections. Just adorable
Need a great Rom Com? This is a great read for that. There are times when I laughed out loud with this book. This book was originally released in sections thought Charlies Novack’s newsletter. I am so happy I could read the whole story at once. There is something about the chemistry of Simon and Taylor that has me drawn to reading more of these two. Sometimes we don’t realize that the right person is right under your nose. Simon is shy and self-conscious. He finds his confidence though his secret blog that features satin and lace. But a chance hookup with his flat mate Taylor things start to change. Can they keep their relationship just physical? Then there is Mr. Smith the admire on Simon’s blog. There is something about Mr. Smith that allows Simon to open up and an unlikely friend ship forms. When Simon starts to have feelings he opens up to Mr. Smith asking for advice, but he is no help because he is having the same problem. Is there something in common here?
A sweet story with friends to lovers, lingerie and interesting characters!
The book was very well written!
If you’re looking for a fluffy, happy story with lots (!) of heat? Grab it!
What a great story! It has lots of fun and a few funny moments! Lots of sexy times for our men and the overall sense of what can happen when you fall in love whether you’re ready or not!
This is so entertaining and I was so glad I could devote the time to sit and read it in a single sitting cause it was that good.
Everyone had the right to feel confident and pretty no matter what! Self esteem issues are no joke and people can honesty be cruel fiction or in reality. But when you find that one person who sees everything and tells you how beautiful you are and gets excited about being with you, it makes the world a much brighter place!
Our characters find this very thing but what’s fun is that is a slow build to the realization and the journey to get there is perfect!
I was wanting to give this more stars but honestly the plot twist was super obvious and the characters annoyed me in their oblivion. I mean come on, they lived in the same house for goodness sake and just doh! It was a steamy read and I liked the lace.
4 Lacy stars – Taylor and Simon
Woot that was one sexy sweet dirty story, I loved it!
Simon has a crush for his roommate Taylor ánd a crush for his online admirer Mr. Smith.
One night Taylor and Simon decided to play around in the bedroom with each other just because they can, they play and play.
Taylor finds a fuckbuddy in Simon. No strings, no feelings involved that leads to a mess.
His heart is a traitor and wants things he can’t have.
Simon’s drawers are full of toys and oh does that give Taylor inspiration.
When he noticed by accident Simon’s lace underwear he’s unstoppable.
Simon can’t decide if he should tell Taylor about his lingerie blog
So luckily for us, we can witness a delicious f-fest.
Lace, silk, panties, soft hand-cuffs, and a lot of steamy sexiness.
It was a feel-good story, nothing upsetting happened, nothing depressing, just a lot of sexy fun time, a lot of appreciation, and discovering about each other’s bodies. We get to know every part of them. Awesomely delicious to visualize!
Simon and Taylor are housemates in London who have lived together for several months, each crushing hard on the other, but keeping it secret.
Simon is a gentle giant. He’s a big guy, but his personality is sweet and kind. He’s shy, but he has a wicked sense of humour. He also has a deliciously dirty side. Simon has a thing for ladies’ underwear. He loves them so much, he has an anonymous blog where he posts photos of himself wearing beautiful lingerie. What Simon really craves is to find a man who loves him but also understands his need to be taken care of.
Taylor is smaller physically, but his personality more than makes up for it. He’s brash and loud and sometimes speaks before thinking. Also wickedly smart, he has resigned himself to never finding “the one”. Most men he dates expect him to be something he’s not: submissive. Taylor craves a man to take care of and cherish. Someone who wants him to take charge. Something he never expects from Simon.
When Simon and Taylor finally hook up the heat is intense! But they are both under the impression that the other one isn’t looking for anything more than a “friends with benefits” situation. Adding to the sexual tension is the fact that Taylor LOVES Simon’s blog, and the two of them have struck up a sort of friendship, with neither one of them having any idea of the other’s identity.
The only thing I didn’t love about Screens Apart is that I wanted to scream at both Simon and Taylor when the signs that their online friend was in fact their roommate, become SO obvious. It takes both of them SO long to figure it out! It could NOT have been more obvious, so it was frustrating when the characters were so dense!
Aside from that minor frustration, I LOVED Screens apart. Make sure you’ve got an ice cold drink nearby while reading – otherwise you’re likely to melt from the heat! It’s a super fun, sweet read with a very satisfying happy ending. I’ll definitely be reading more from Charlie Novak.
Simon has a crush on his roommate Taylor so when Taylor suggests they start hooking up he agrees even though he wished they could be more. As their relationship develops they discover interesting things about each other and they explore their desires. Simon also has a naughty blog and an online friend Mr. Smith. They talk to each other about their guy problems and exchange advice. When Taylor finds out about Simon’s blog he realizes he’s been following it without knowing it was his roommate. Could Mr Smith and Taylor be the same person?
The chemistry between the main characters was explosive and the book was really steamy. But it was also super sweet and romantic and I loved the relationship and the dynamics between the main characters. It was sexy and cute and the ending was perfect. I had the best time reading it.
4/5 stars
I received an ARC of this book for an honest review.
4.75 stars. I thoroughly enjoyed this bit of sweetness. The role reversal of the twink top and the big buff guy who loves lingerie and to bottom hit the spot for me. While the storyline was predictable it was still so much fun to read. Simon struggles with his self-image, he sees himself as too big and his fetish as making him weird. I loved how Taylor only saw Simon as perfect. Spending lots of time telling him and showing him how beautiful he is. I’m hoping we get to see Connor’s book soon.
This was one of the hottest books I’ve read recently! Roommates Taylor and Simon both had secret crushes on one another. Simon was a blogger, and Taylor unknowingly was one of his biggest fans. As their relationship progressed they messaged each other about their own relationship without realizing who the other was. It was a sweet and steamy romance with a cute happily ever after.
This was such an interesting plot. I love how each man accepted the other for their quirks. I don’t think I’ll look at a pair of satin panties the same way ever again.
The interesting part, for me, was the length of time it took for them to figure out who the other was. Such a timely story with Facebook and Twitter in the news so much!
