An entertaining, slightly steamy read although I would have liked a more aggressive editing. I felt there were too many ellipses/pregnant pauses which detracted from my enjoyment. I liked the twist on the HEA! Looking forward to Coll’s story.
I received a copy from Netgalley. This is my unbiased review.
I just recently started reading historical romance books. They just never seemed to catch my eye before now. I’ve been binging on them ever since last fall. I don’t know what it is lately but they are some of the best books I’ve read lately.
Aden and Miranda have that push and pull relationship that just grabs my attention. They bad boy Scot who gets all the ladies, and the one lady who doesn’t want him. It’s the stuff book crack is made of for me.
It’s a very entertaining book. The beginning took me a minute to get into but after that it was smooth sailing. I am planning on going back and reading the first book in this series, I hope there is more to come after this one as well.
I am absolutely in love with the Suzanne/ plots.
She manages to mix mystery, comedy and high doses of romance in handsome, strong, alpha males completely in love (even when they are stubborn).
Aden MacTaggert is great at gambling but without any social skills to be at Ton (to find a Sassenach wife); Miranda needs help to get rid of a mess created by her brother.
Together, they were a brilliant and surprising pair.

Awesome, entertaining, heartwarming Regency romantic suspense. The blurb gives readers a good idea of what to expect in this book but it is so much more. The highlanders are funny and make the English look ridiculous. Aden involves himself in Miranda’s problems to help get her out of Captain Vale’s clutches. Aden is smart and enjoys going to battle against Miranda’s wits. I enjoyed the 1st story in this series and look forward to book #3. I received a complementary copy of this book and chose to write a review. I look forward to reading future books by Ms. Enoch.
Aden MacTaggert and his brother have come to England to find proper society brides. Their estranged mother has ordered it. Aden is not pleased with this situation. He isn’t fond of the English. That is until he meets Miranda Harris. She’s a very proper lady who follows all the rules. He’s a stubborn rule breaker. She’s a woman who speaks her mind and won’t back down. These two are opposites but when she’s blackmailed by a social climber to become his bride. These two become partners. I was caught up in this story. Aden is a rogue and gambler who cares for this beautiful caring woman. I could see that they completed each other. They made me laugh at their banter and sigh at their romance. Scot Under The Covers is a wonderful story. The characters are larger than life. They came alive in this book written by Suzanne Enoch. I can’t wait to see what she has in store for Coll. I can see that he’s as stubborn as his brother.
I received a copy of this book which I voluntarily read and reviewed my comments are my honest opinion.
The sneaky McTaggart has found a bride. Aden and his brothers are in London to find brides at the behest of their other and in an effort to save the future of their Clan. He is the secretive and enigmatic brother. Miranda has had several seasons and not made the decision to marry. Her and Aden clash the first day they meet and she decides she doesn’t like him. When trouble strikes however she reaches out to him and he comes to her rescue. The story is filled with wonderful characters. The dialogue is witty, and funny. You will enjoy the antics of these Highland gentlemen as they turn London on its ears.
Sexy, fun, emotionally thrilling, action packed romantic adventure filled with engaging charters, witty banter, heart racing twists and undeniable passion… was a great read. Really enjoyed reading this intriguing and exciting journey!
I have never read Suzanne Enoch and did not read the first book in this series but I do believe I will. I really enjoyed the banter between the “smart” Miranda Harris and Aden. Especially Aden’s highland brogue. Beyond that,
their attraction was the glue of the story for me.
While Aden tries to get Miranda out of a blackmailing jam, he falls hard as does she. Miranda’s brother and future brothers-in-law to Aden, Matthew, is at the root of the blackmail that could cause their family a disastrous scandal.
I received this book from Netgalley in exchange
For an honest review.
I love books with Highlander mainly with men who seems a barbarian type and end up being a sweet and true charming prince.
Aden has always been the most controlled and restrained of the MacTaggert brothers. He is a great gambler and like a good bet. He did not think of getting married until his mother’s blackmail reached him and his brothers. When he met Miranda at one of his sister’s balls, Aden finally comes across a woman who messes with him.
Miranda doesn’t like gamblers but will need Aden’s help to get rid of her brother’s debt and to understand a gambler’s mind. He agrees to help the lady in distress but in return she needs to help him behave like a perfect lord. Miranda and Aden come together as partners and will need to trust each other.Gradually, they become affectionate, the attraction grows and love flourishes.
I found their love story very beautiful, I just hoped for a better resolution for the villain and her brother who in my opinion is the biggest villain in the plot.

Why did it take a little longer than normal to read this book? Well I loooove Suzanne Enoch and have been a fan of hers for a while, so when I get one of her books, I start remember other books of her and then start reading them all over again..My favorite is ..London’s perfect scoundrel)Now to this one, this is the second book in series, It’s getting Scott in here, the first one, and I always recommend to read the first one so you can get a better understanding of who is who. I love Scottish men and I came to fall in love with these guys the MacTaggerts, and when you start reading you will understand why.So we meet Miranda who is going to be their sister in law, but her brother the numbskill loses lots in gambling and for the debt the scheming scoundrel wants to marry Miranda, what to what to do, well she goes someone she does not really care for Aden and he is going to help her learn the tricks of the trade and she is going to help him navigate thru the ton..While spend time with each other, Miranda realizes that she was all wrong about and the spark between them is catching fire..

Historical romances are a bit of a hit or miss for me, and Scot Under the Covers lands somewhere in the middle. The characters are likable enough, at least our hero and heroine. There were some things about the characters’ actions that rubbed me the wrong way, some of it falling in with the time period and some not, but they were likable enough. The romance felt a little off to me. It wasn’t instalove, but it didn’t move organically either. They kind of went back and forth on why they should or shouldn’t be together, which wouldn’t be a big deal except the result was that the story felt a little choppy to me at times. This is the second book in a series, but it does work as a standalone. In the end, this one had its moments, so it was worth the read.
