Soulmates don’t always start as friends. Sometimes they start as enemies. And sometimes they need cheese to help seal the deal…
ERICA: Signing up for a matchmaking service was not my idea. But when Andrew-the-Hand-Model dumped me, my brother suggested I try Mr. Match. And I figured it couldn’t hurt. As it was, I’d never get away from meathead moron soccer players (since my brother plays keeper … hurt. As it was, I’d never get away from meathead moron soccer players (since my brother plays keeper for the South Bay Sharks and I manage PR for the team.)
But Mr. Match is a moron too because he matched me with a guy I see at work every day. A guy who has a different girl on his arm at every turn. And a soccer player.
Fernando Fuerte, the “Fuerte Fire,” is one guy I can assure you is NOT my match.
FERNANDO: Getting girls is not a problem. Getting girls who care about something besides my status as the South Bay Sharks star striker, my salary, and my social status?
Yeah. That’s the problem. So when my buddy Max tells me he’s actually Mr. Match–the secret proprietor of San Diego’s hottest matchmaking app, I let him convince me to try it.
And Erica Johnson is not actually a bad match–only she doesn’t seem to agree. And then there’s the small matter of her being in the middle of trying to save the team (and me) when the owner’s ex brings to light some, ahem, unsavory accusations about me…
And then there’s her enormous and disapproving twin brother…
And there’s something about cheese, too.
But if I have my way? Erica will definitely be my match.

Scoring the Keeper’s Sister is book one in the Mr. Match series by Delancey Stewart.
Fernando Fuerte, otherwise known as Fuerte Fire, is the star striker for the South Bay Sharks, San Diego’s pro soccer team. Fernando has a reputation of being a player. The internet is full of photos of him with beautiful women on his arm, never the same one. In the bar where the team likes to hang out, there are always women flirting, trying to score with the soccer star.
Erica Johnson is the twin sister of the team’s Keeper, Trace. She also works for the team. She is in charge of all of their PR. So she’s the one who has to try to cover over any scandals the guys get in. The tabloids love Fernando’s supposed exploits which in turn keeps her busy smoothing it over. And now, the team’s owner’s ex-wife is out to get revenge on her ex-husband and is making all sorts of statements to the press regarding the team’s players. Most recently, she’s focused in on Fernando.
Erica has terrible luck with choosing men so her brother convinces her to submit her profile to Mr. Match. At the same time, Fernando teammate, Max, admits to him that he is really Mr. Match. And Max convinces Fernando to submit his own profile. When Max does his magic, you’ll never guess who pops up as the perfect match!
Erica is appalled that she is matched with someone like Fernando. But as she gets to know him a little better, she sees who he really is, just a somewhat lonely guy who is trying to care for his sick mother and loves helping out the youth of the city but keeps his volunteer work under the radar. He’s a good man. But between a bet involving some fancy cheese, the team owner’s ex’s latest accusations, an over-protective brother, and so much more, it seems the stars just aren’t aligned for these two.
This was a sweet, sexy story with more feels than I though it would have. There was a lot of jumping to conclusions between these two. I wish they would have listened to each other better. But Mr. Match knew they were the perfect match for each other. They just had to stop and really open themselves up and they would find their HEA. The next book in the series, book two, is Scoring a Fake Fianceé, and is Erica’s brother, Trace’s book. I wonder what sort of trouble he’ll get in to?!
Read as part of the Mr Match Collection
love the dynamics between Trace and his sister Erica and how her relationship grows with Fernando
I had read other books in the Mr. Match series before reading SCORING THE SCOREKEEPER’S SISTER so I knew some of the personalities. I can say with certainty you do not need to read them in order to enjoy one or more of the stories.
Fernando Fuentes has a reputation as a “player” and Erica working PR for the team has had to deal with some of his indiscretions. They both fill out profiles on Mr. Match and the algorithm picks them as a perfect match.
What we see as the story progresses is Erica no longer being the spitfire she was in the beginning. Even when Fuentes messed up she was quick to forgive him after the match was made. That disappointed me a bit because he was expecting her to trust him when he didn’t trust her.
There are some really funny moments in the book and a few comments I hope to use at the appropriate time some day. For me the love story was a little flat but there were also other things going on that interfered with Fuentes and Erica being together and those parts of the story were very interesting.
This is a great start to this series. It’s witty and fun, I love the storyline and the characters and am eager to read more!
I read this book by Delancey Stewart who was a new author to me. Having read it, I then purchased my own copy and have subsequently purchased even more of her fabulous romantic comedies. With superb characters that are so very realistic and fun – the types you’d like to know. With Erica as our heroine in this story as the PR guru for the Sharks and her twin brother on the team. He makes a bet, of some seriously good cheese, that she couldn’t get a date with Mr Player Himself, Fernando, who is his best friend. She may have just broken up and when she finds out that she has been matched with him she is not very impressed. For despite his good looks and oodles of charm his reputation as a player of women is not good. But maybe he can persuade her by letting her see him as he really is and not the tabloid headline man? Wonderfully written and maybe laugh out loud moments. Looking for even more to read. I received a copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Most Definitely Recommended.
An entertaining well written enemies to lovers romance. This fun fast paced easy to read story has several obstacles and trust issues before a HEA. This story with humor, fun banter, and believable chemistry includes great characters that are believable, great, interesting and well developed while being extremely selfless and compassionate. I voluntarily reviewed this ARC.

It was a fun romantic story with a little drama in it. I received this for free and I voluntarily chose to review it. I’ve given it a 4* rating. This is not for the under 18 readers. There is a lot of snarky talk and uncool language. There is a bit of action, not on the playing field, and a PR trying to highlight the good the team does. There is even talk about cheese. A fairly fast read for hot summer nights.
I enjoyed this book. It was an interesting and fun romance story. I like the characters and enjoyed following their romance.
She did not like him at first but when her brother told her she would never have a chance with him. Well it was like a red flag to a bull? She was going to prove her brother wrong. Can she get him? Will it just be a fling? What if she calls for him? Follow her to see

This is the first book by this author that I have read. I’m very impressed & looking forward to reading more. There’s a lot going on in this book & it will keep you turning the pages. I can’t wait for the next book!
This was a interesting book with controversy and laughter.
I loved Fuerto and Erica, they go through a lot and have disagreements. But also they learn to listen to each other.
Delancey Stewart did amazing with this book.
I can’t wait for more.
This is one book I did not see coming. Scoring The Keeper’s Sister was ‘ THAT ‘ ROM-COM that keeps on giving. To be honest this is the first I have read by this author, and I can point blank tell you, it most definitely will not be the last. I did not expect to fall for Erica and Fernando as characters, but Stewart had a way of letting both characters develop into these amazing people with amazing personalities. I thought the story-line was unique, and I really enjoyed viewing not only their views, but others’ as well. Scoring The Keeper’s Sister was a light read, with a plot perfect that fit both Erica and Fernando. This enemies to lovers / brother’s friend, had the perfect amount of heat, with loads of hilarity.
Erica is smart, and sassy with a personality that is out of this world. She has a twin brother that is pretty much her best friend that plays soccer for the South Bay Sharks. Being super close, she chose to stay uber close to him, and become the PR Rep for the same team. Her one rule in life is to not date any player, weather it be an athletic or just a normal Joe with a 9 to 5. She don’t want anything that involves the lime light, and prefers the simplicity of life.
Fernando is the South Bay Sharks star striker. He is every woman’s fantasy, look wise. He is known as a womanizer, with plenty of ladies to choose from, but secretly wants what money can’t buy, which is someone that is for him and not his status nor his money. He is absolutely hilarious, without even trying to be. He is sweet, and caring and so darn amazing. He is a momma’s boy down to his core, and it shows with how sensual he is.
When Mr. Match identifies Erica and Fernando as the perfect match, both are in 100 % denial. The more they see of each other, intentional or not, the more the chemistry burns. But what happens when accusations are made, and a twin brother is against it, is their attraction enough or is life in the spotlight too much for Erica?
* Can be Read as a standalone. But I assume will be an interconnected standalone.
* I recommend this book.

Delancy Stewart has created a fantastic, captivating story of a professional soccer player and PR agent for the team. Filled with drama, heartbreak, a professional matchmaker, a medical scare, wit, flirtatious banter, and love. Scoring the Keeper’s Sister was funny, romantic, and heartache. Wonderful characters readers will fall in love with. A great story that readers won’t want to put down.

A well written story with nice storyline and plot. It is written in dual POV which gives the reader more of the feelings and thoughts of the main characters. Likeable main characters who develops nicely through the story. Nice chemistry and passion between them. How to choose the right partner and fight for it despite all the issues that is thrown at you. How to catch the chance for your HEA.
A story that is a mix of secrets, drama, love, emotions, womanizer, romance, steam and sweetness. I like the twists and turns the story has. It was a fun, emotional and sexy read. It is captivating from first to last chapter.
Enjoyable, engaging and entertaining read.
Delancey Stewart has a way with sexy contemporary romance that keeps you glued to the book, turning pages, and not really caring about the world around you! And she definitely did all that with Scoring the Keeper’s Sister, which is the first in Mr. Match series!
Erica Johnson manages PR for the soccer team her brother plays for, and is forever taking a backseat to everyone. She’s tough and beautiful, but she knows she’ll be alone forever if she doesn’t do something about it. Even her twin brother, Trace thinks she should try Mr. Match. What could it hurt?
Fernando Fuerte is the striker for the team Erica does PR for. He can’t help it if the tabloids twist everything they see and make it look like he’s a complete player. Not that he hasn’t dated, but come on. When his team mate, Max convinces him to try Mr. Match, Fernando is hopeful.
Until he gets his match.
Laugh and cry and swoon your way through the ups and downs as Erica and Fernando find out what they are to each other, while they find out more about themselves as well.
This book is funny and sexy, and sure to entertain! I cannot wait for the next book in this series – and you’ll be on the edge of your seat, too.

Is the algorithm working? – funny, entertaining and sexy
Has Mr. Match made a mistake this time? Is his algorithm working or will it be a huge mistake to bring together two people who loathe each other and think only worst about each other? Sometimes we just need a little bit of encouragement to start thinking about other person in the possible romantic set up. Will it be enough for Erica and Fernando to give it a try and see if there might be something more to their relationship?
This story has funny, entertaining moments but also some serious twists in the plot that made it an interesting and captivating read. There are also some sexy and romantic moments. I very much enjoyed every single page and spent very good time with all the characters in this book. This is a great start to the series of Mr. Match and I hope there will be much more to enjoy.
This is an exceptional read that will draw you in from beginning to end! It is well written, fast pace, funny, witty, moves at a brisk pace, and is very enjoyable. The characters are loveable, deep, and sweet; the chemistry between them is blazing hot. I loved watching their story unfold and the ups and downs make for a wonderful story. This is a very interesting and engaging read that I highly recommend reading. Looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

What a fun and entertaining read. Excellent book for the first in series. Her brother is on a hockey team and she is the PR person. Mr. Matchmaker is a service that has had great success in matching couples. This other player is just that a player. He gets matched up with her. She can’t stand him but has to make the teams along with his reputation and standing in the community better. They get together but have problems with both themselves and her brother. I recommend it. I reviewed a copy of this for booksprout.
