Sometimes scoring off the ice leads to the greatest rewards.I’ve had only one goal in life since I first strapped on a pair of skates—make America’s pro hockey league.I left Denmark. I made it to the top. Now, I’m determined to be the best. No distractions. I eat, sleep, and breathe hockey. Until my birthday when my teammates convince me to live a little. But living a little takes on a whole new … living a little takes on a whole new meaning when less than a year later I’m confronted with a crying baby on my doorstep, drooling on a note that declares he’s mine.
Suddenly, I’m a single dad in way over my head.
There is no playbook for situations like this.
Luckily, I have Paisley.
My gorgeous neighbor, my long-time crush, and now—my savior.
She’s there any time I need her.
Helping. Guiding. Gazing at me with those green eyes that make me feel capable of this after all.
With her at my side, I’m quickly learning there’s more to life than winning a hockey game.

I love finding books where it goes outside the norm. I think it’s great that the hero in Scoring Off the Ice is the one who is the shy, inexperienced partner. It’s almost always the heroine that is the inexperienced one and that makes this book unique.
I really liked Mikah. The fact that he was shy and almost innocent like didn’t keep him from being a possessive guy with the heroine. I’m glad that not all shy men are portrayed as beta men.
Paisley was a great heroine as well. She wasn’t immature and handled conflict well. I liked that she also had no idea who Mikah was. I’m also a fan of single parent stories so I enjoyed that there was a baby involved in Mikah and Paisley’s.
Overall, this series has been a safer, sweeter, sports themed series. I’ve been listening to the audiobooks and really enjoy the narrators. You get dual POV and dual narrators.
What a fun adorably sweet listen! This is the second in the series and I am already looking forward to what is next. Paisley and Mikah are neighbors who though very aware of each other barely acknowledge each other in the hallway. They are both focused on their respective careers. He plays for an NHL hockey team and she is finishing up her masters degree while staying in her uncles apartment. Paisley hears a noise outside her door and what she finds is an adorable infant baby boy with a note on him. And so begins the relationship between Paisley and Mikah when he acknowledges how clueless he is about being a parent and begs for her help. I really enjoyed this listen. The only small issue I had is the narration of the Mikahs character. He is from Denmark so why does his character sound like he is from a combo of Germany and Russia? Its a little weird, but didn’t take away from this great listen. If you need a little getaway and a HEA, slightly steamy sweet becoming a dad and family book this is so for you.
I received and advanced listeners copy of this book (audiobook) from Netgalley in exchange for a fair and honest review. I am very appreciative to have had the opportunity to listen to it.

Hockey, babies & romance…
Paisley and Mikah, and gorgeous little Angelo, were the perfect feel good read! Instead of a quiet night reading, Paisley instead was supporting her gorgeous neighbor through the growing pains of becoming, shockingly, a brand-new new dad. Oh yes, a hunky hockey player brought to his knees by a newborn… Mikah was confident in his abilities on the ice but Angelo scared the pants off him – and he needed help!
Their story was sweet in so many ways with all the pangs to the heart you could ask for. Mikah was not a spoiled sports star, far from it, and his track record with women was unbelievably short. And not so groovy. He was a good guy and Paisley recognized that right away. And she was smart, beautiful and confident. Everything he could want for himself and his new family… Cue up baby mama drama and lots of hockey family to round out another great read in the series.
*I happily reviewed this story
OMG! I’ve volunteered to review this book for United Indie Book Blog. This is my first time reading one of Stacey Lynn books. Scoring Off The Ice is the second book in the Ice Kings series. This is Mikah and Paisley’s story. Mikah is from Denmark and a professional hockey player. While Paisley just moved into her uncle’s condo next door to Mikah. Paisley has had a crush on her neighbor since she moved in. Mikah just learned that he is a dad. Mikah and Paisley’s relationship continues to grow as they navigate from being strangers, to friends, to something more. I loved their chemistry and watching their relationship grow. I highly recommend this book. Keep up the awesome job! Can’t wait to read the next book in this series.
This was a great read! I was hooked from the very beginning and didnt want to put the book down. I loved Mikah and Paisley. I also loved that there was no unnecessary drama that dragged the book out. I would definitely recommend this book!
Was given an arc for an honest review
This was a fun read that brought two neighbors together that were attracted to one another but never acted on it until one night, one night when Paisley hears a cry out in the hallway and goes to see what it’s all about and discovers a baby left in front of hot neighbors door.
Mikah and Paisley have great chemistry and work well together on figuring out what to do with the new bundle that has been dropped into their lives. Yes I know Mikah is the father and Paisley isn’t the mom BUT she steps in and helps because he is so lost on what to do and she is a natural. I really enjoyed how they worked together and how their relationship grew naturally it wasn’t forced or pushed, they had an attraction before they even had spoken to one another and it progressed nicely.
I always enjoy Stacey Lynn’s books especially the more emotional ones, while this one was tugging at my heart at times it didn’t come close to the way her FIRESIDE series gutted me. I would say this is a cross between her FIRESIDE series and her CRAZY LOVE series. So if you are looking for a Contemporary Sports Romances with some feels this is the one for you.
Happy Reading!!!
I’m loving this Hockey series by Stacey Lynn so much.
This was a sweet, fun read. Who doesn’t love a story when it involves a man a baby and the man not knowing anything about raising babies. I am looking forward to what comes next in this series.
“The guy who I’ve crushed on for months, and who now, will probably never be mine.”
Mikah Lutzgo. Young, handsome, single, Danish, wealthy, good guy and a professional hockey player. His night was going well, until he heard someone knocking insistently on his door. Facing a woman and a baby was not what he expected.
Paisley is a grad student, who is living in her uncle’s apartment while he is out of the country. Her plans for a relaxing night are interrupted by a strange noise. Discovering a baby left at the door of her mysterious neighbor, who by the way she has a huge crush on, will certainly be a good way to introduce herself. This if he can understand the surreal situation that both are in at the moment.
An abandoned baby. A note from a mother with questionable attitudes. A player on the verge of a nervous breakdown. And a girl who just wants to help. Ready for this mess? The book will positively surprise you.
Light, funny, cute and even romantic, the story of Mikah, Paisley and baby Angelo will draw sighs, good laughs and even some angry moments. Just as we will see the birth of a father, we will accompany the flourishing of a relationship and the formation of a family, even though events have been recent, unexpected and surprising.
Second book in the Ice Kings series, the other characters in the series also appear, and we can already see the development of the next plot.
A sweet and well-written novel. Highly recommended.
4.5 stars
I’m a sucker for a single dad especially one that doesn’t see his impending fatherhood coming. I loved Mikah from the start. He’s focused on his career, he doesn’t live the playboy lifestyle that you’d expect from a hockey player and the one time he did let loose is now coming back to bite him. He’s so clueless in the beginning it’s hard not to like him.
Mikahs neighbour Paisley is another great character. This girl is so sweet! The mutual attraction between her and Mikah continues to grow between them as they spend more and more time together and I admit I needed them to get their hea.
This is a great single dad romance and definitely worth a read!
Scoring Off The Ice is book 2 in the Ice Kings series by Stacey Lynn. This is Mikah and Paisley’s story. Mikah is a professional sexy hockey player who lives next door to graduate student Paisley, who just moved into her uncle’s empty apartment while she is busy attending college and teaching at a local school. She’s getting to stay rent free at her uncle’s apartment in exchange for apartment sitting. One night, she gets a knock on her door and it’s her sexy hot nextdoor neighbor, hockey player Mikah, whose holding a baby and saying that it’s his.
This is the start of the beginning of their meeting- unusual circumstances that will take them on a journey, a relationship journey towards something extraordinary and beautiful.
Mikah just discovers that he’s a father and doesn’t know what to do with a bouncing baby boy. Fatherhood was something that he didn’t expect at 23 yrs old and yet now he’s been handed a baby, told its his. Paisley has had a huge crush on her next door neighbor and is willing to give whatever support she can to Mikah. The plot is fantastic, the feels is good and the chemistry is sizzling. Liked visits from previous characters popping into the storyline. The overall story is pretty good and one that had me rooting for the main characters. I look forward to book 3.
My Rating: 4.3 stars **********
Scoring Off the Ice (Ice Kings)
Paisley, Mikah, Baby Angelo ….Oh My!
Hot and sexy hockey players, a baby and a frazzled grad student/neighbor.
One of my most favorite tropes is the surprise baby, my second favorite is the neighbor romance. Scoring off the Ice had it all for me I love the extra challenges and drama it adds to a story line. Sometimes the surprise baby is the catalyst to through the love interest together, but as the story progresses becomes an afterthought. Stacey Lynn did such a great job making baby Angelo such a sweet part of the story.
I loved Mikah’s dedication to the sweet little baby. I loved that Mikah is somewhat inexperienced in the bedroom giving him a sexy boy like quality. I found him to be such a sweet decent guy but not overly so that the romance wasn’t sexy.
We did not get an overly large amount of background on Paisley or what relationships are like for her. She was written as an average Grad student. I wanted a little more interaction with her and her friends or maybe more with the WAGS. Even if you know nothing about hockey there should have been a little trepidation on her part in to entering that world. There were plenty of opportunities for situation like that to happen, we get brief glimpses, but I would have liked a little more.
One of the things I love most about these hockey romances is the snippets of other characters and interactions from other in the series. I love the feeling of community these stories build. Loved that we had some interactions with Katie and Jude from Playing to Win. I also love the build up for the next story to come about the players. I already have hopes as to who has get book #3 and #4 in the Ice Kings Series.
I really enjoyed Scoring off the Ice, it isn’t an overly Hockey, Hockey romance. Not a tone of repetitiveness as far as Mikah’s practices, routines, and games but enough you get the picture. It was heavy on romance, not so heavy on hockey or sex even, but plenty of sexy.
This was a solid 4/5 read for me. I will absolutely be reading book #3 and hopefully #4.
Mikah is one of the youngest and newest members of the Ice Kings hockey team, his goal has always been to play in NHL and nothing else mattered , he needs to stay focused because he knows even though he has earned his spot on the team, that spot can easily be taken away….
His birthday was meant to be a night of fun and passion, a night to let lose and then go back to focusing on his dream career, it was meant to be one night but now nearly a year later he suddenly finds himself a father with no idea how to raise a baby ……..
Paisley finds the baby on her neighbors doorstep with a note attached to him and when she realises the hot guy across the hall as no clue when it comes to babies she steps up to show him the ropes.
As this couple spend time together feelings grow as does the sexual chemistry and Mikah finds himself wanting more than just a career playing hockey, as Paisley helps him stumble through learning how to be a father he finds himself wanting this strong, sassy yet funny woman in his life ..
This is an entertaining read that captivated me from the first page to the last line, I loved the plot, I loved all the characters and I highly recommend this book to all sports romance lovers as well as romance lovers, it has something for everyone.
Mikah has worked hard all his life trying to make it into the NHL. After years of enduring his father’s constant criticism, Mikah is drafted to the Ice Kings. Mikah eats and sleeps hockey…until his 23rd birthday. Mikah’s teammates encourage him to live a little and party. His one night stand turns into so much more…
Paisley is a grad student living in her uncle’s loft while he’s away. Paisley also has a crush on her hunky neighbor, but she doesn’t even know his name. One evening, Paisley follows a strange noise to the hallway to find an infant crying outside her neighbor’s door. Mikah denies being the father, until he sees the note in the carrier. Mikah has no experience with children, much less babies. So Paisley steps in to assist. Could their budding friendship turn into so much more…
I truly loved how nice and dedicated Mikah was with Angelo. Paisley was sweet, kind, and caring. She didn’t care about Mikah’s fame or money. Mikah’s teammates welcomed Paisley and Angelo into their “family”. They even took Paisley’s side when Mikah pushed her away! They were perfectly matched and an adorable couple with Angelo. I read a gifted copy and all opinions stated are my own.
Stacey Lynn is a fairly new to me author but wow am I loving the Ice King Series. I devoured the first book, Playing to Win in less than 24 hours and this one was the same. From the first page I was hooked on the characters, the story, the romance. EVERYTHING! This book has it all! Mikah has made it as a professional hockey player from Denmark. He has had one focus in life and has no time for distractions. On the night of his 23rd birthday he gets together with a woman and the result will change his life forever. Paisley is Mikah’s neighbor. She finds quite the surprise on Mikah’s doorstep! I love how she stepped in right away and was there for him immediately. Her personality is equal parts sassy and sweet and I completely adored her. Mikah and Paisley quickly build a bond together. Their chemistry was everything. So real & emotional. There is so much to love about this book. A sweet, single dad hockey romance that is a must read. 4 STARS

GAH … I loved this story so much!
The baby situation, the daddy situation, the neighbor situation … all of it was super enjoyable! Mikah and Paisley were so likeable it was ridiculous, and the team’s camaraderie and support enhanced not only them, but the story! Great energy and spark between them as well! I was swooning and smiling all the way thru this beautiful story!
I’ve been reading Stacey’s work for a few years now and she just keeps getting better and better! I can’t wait to devour what she writes next for these hockey guys!
Mikah’s dream was always to come to America and play hockey. He trained hard and caught the attention of the coaches for the Ice Kings, and earned himself a spot on their team. He doesn’t take the opportunity lightly, knowing it can be taken away at the drop of a hat, so his focus is always on the game. He never strays from the straight and narrow… well with the one exception of his birthday night.
It was supposed to be one night of freedom, a night to enjoy himself… but that one little night is about to cost him dearly!
Scoring Off the Ice delighted on all fronts, the words were steamy and heartwarming, and the characters were so easy to love! I loved this pairing so much, they had my heart upon first meeting, they were so adorable together. You couldn’t help but feel for Mikah and the situation that landed in his lap, it had him completely out of his element, but I think he handled it like a champ. Learning you’re a father and not having any of the skills necessary to care for your child can be a little overwhelming, lucky for him though he had a very capable and caring neighbor to help guide him along. Watching him and Paisley navigate their unique situation was not only entertaining, but also good on the ticker, they had me smiling and swooning throughout. This series is quickly becoming a favorite of mine from Ms. Lynn, and I cannot wait to see what she has in store for these Ice Kings next!! I highly recommend you get your hands on this sweet little literary gem, it’s destined to leave your heart happy!
I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion.
Who doesn’t love a good hockey romance? This is the second book in the Ice King’s series. Mikah is such a sexy combination of innocent, sweet and possessive. I absolutely loved his character. This was a very entertaining story with a surprise baby left on a doorstep found by the pretty neighbor across the hall. Paisley and Mikah has a ton of crazy chemistry, it really is an insta love kind of story . Not a lot of drama in this one and a great HEA. I am definitely intrigued by the rest of the characters. This is a part of a series but can be read as a stand-alone without reading the first book.
***I did receive a free advanced reader copy of this book from Stacey Lynn and Social Butterfly PR in exchange for a fair and honest review***
Thank you for your review.
Mikah eats, sleeps and breathes hockey. His life goal is to become good enough to get out of Denmark and play in the pros. He finally makes it and he intends to stay at the top. Even though Mikah has been crushing on his neighbour since he laid eyes on her, he can not afford the distraction. Until his birthday, where his teammates convinced him to have a little fun, comes back in a huge surprise in the form of a crying baby on his doorstep. Paisley has had a crush on her neighbour for the longest time and never talked to him but when she finds a crying baby on his doorstep she ends up becoming his saviour and may even convince him that there is more to life than hockey.
I love surprise baby novels as they always touch on what it’s like to have a new baby in the house. I fell in love with Mikah and his nervousness of being a new dad in a still somewhat of a foreign country to him. A man with an accent is always sexy. The development of Mikah and Paisley’s relationship started sweet and turned steamy. I can not wait for the next book in the series and can not wait for Jason’s story. Scoring Off The Ice is a single dad, surprise baby, hockey romance which is told in the first-person point of view and is the second novel in the Ice Kings series which can be read as a stand-alone or as part of the series.

Four and a Half Stars
“Scoring Off The Ice” Book 2 of Stacey Lynn’s Ice Kings Series is a sports romance readers dream come true!
It’s a hockey romance – my absolute favorite kind.
There’s a surprise baby – he’s absolutely adorable.
Making the hero of the book a sexy single daddy – he’s clueless and adorable.
Cue the sexy and sassy girl next door who comes to the main character’s rescue – she’s fantastic.
Factor in their off the charts chemistry – let the naked sexy times games begin.
End result – a happily ever after with all the bells and whistles.
TBR this great book and if you haven’t read Book 1 “Playing To Win”, you really should because what’s better than one fantastic hockey read? Two fantastic hockey reads obviously .
I became a Ice Knights fan after book one in this series.
Mikah is the absolute sweetest. He’s all the swoon. I loved his quiet intensity and gentle nature. I seriously can’t handle how in love with him I am. Paisley is amazing. I loved how she jumped in with both feet to help a stranger and how she completed Mikah and Angelo’s new little family.
This whole book made me full of happy sighs. It’s light and hopeful. I kind of wanted a little more angst but I still enjoyed this book so much. I can’t wait to have more Ice Knights in my life. They might just be my new favorite hockey team!!
