Hamish “The Hammer” MacEvoy is every Sharks player’s favorite kilt-wearing drinking buddy. But he’s also a prince. And to keep his place in line for the throne of his tiny island country, he has to be married before the age of thirty. The issue? There’s only one girl Hamish is willing to marry and he hasn’t seen her in six years. And by the way, the prince has yet to share his royal scepter with … scepter with a girl–mostly because none of the girls he’s met can hold a candle to Sophie James.
Can Hamish find Sophie? And if he does, can he convince her to give him another chance after all this time? And if he can do that, will they survive the Feats of Matrimonial Might? And what about all the sheep?
more
Mr. Match strikes again.
This time, is with Hamish, royalty from Durnland. He’s like sixteenth in line but does have royal duties. Like he needs to be married by his thirtieth birthday and he’s twenty nine. The clocks ticking.
Though he’s a soccer player.
And he’s kind of a Colton. Cuz he let the one get away.
Sophie is also from Durland and makes wedding cakes. Hamish was her past.
Six years ago she followed him to the states then changed her mind and cut him loose.
Hamish is looking for Sophie and she’s baking his teammates wedding cake.
He figures out how to find her through a task of her shortbread sticky toffee cake.

I really tried to like this book. I really wanted to like Hamish but I as sweet as he was, he was almost too sweet and to be a big soccer player (I have to say) a bit of a wus. And I didn’t get Sophie, she was devastated by him kissing a girl (which I never understood him doing when he kept saying she was always the only one for him) but yet he remained a virgin and she slept with several guys. None of it made any sense.
Muscular men in kilts – need I say more? One of them so enamored with a woman from his past that he doesn’t want any other woman despite those that throw themselves at him as a young, talented soccer star.
The part that will keep coming back to haunt us, though, involves Sophie when she first left home and started her own business seeking to forget Hamish and breaking ties with his family.
Aside from the romance, this really was an interesting story looking at the old traditions of a family with extensive connection to the crown in a tiny European village and bringing them to America to complete matrimonial obligations.
You’ll really enjoy this if you like a light, clean romance.
I have been waiting for Hamish’s story since book one. I love Hamish and wanted him to have a HEA but Sophie was somewhat of a pill.
This was a fantastic friends – to – lovers second chance romantic story. Hammish and Sophie are meant to be and fate intervenes to reunite this wonderful couple after a six year separation. Scoring A Prince will have readers laughing with this couple’s antics and in tears from their heartbreaking end. Readers will fall in love with Hammish, Sophie, and the Sharks soccer team. Readers won’t want to put this new romantic comedy with a touch of drama down.

This was another great read from author Delancey Stewart. I enjoyed that this book followed Hamish, a man who was not ashamed to be waiting for his one true love. While he wasn’t always the most suave about things, Hamish really did know who he wanted to spend his life with, and wasn’t afraid to make a fool of himself and be vulnerable to let Sophie know that he was hers forever. With the other Mr. Match books, I am not too keen on the random chapters from Mr. Match’s point of view, but its a minor distraction. Otherwise, another great read.
While part of the Mr. Match series, it can be read as a standalone however reading the whole series does enhance the readers experience.

He left his royal family behind in Durnish to be on a soccer team in the US. He also left his childhood best friend and girl he loved with the intentions of getting her later when he settled. They were both shy and naive at the time. He wrote and emailed her, but she never returned any of his messages. She saved her all and 3 months after he left she came to the US to be with him, but caught up with him at a bar. He had 2 girls on his lap and was kissing one of them. He never saw her and she went on with her life. She becomes a baker and has her own shop. One of his teammates does a tasting for his wedding cake with her and buys a cake from her to take home that is the prince’s mother’s recipe. When he taste it, he knows it’s his mother’s and they tell him where they got it. One thing leads to another and the dance among them to the end that also includes all their homeland traditions is wonderful to read. He has to be married by his 30th birthday to claim his place in line to the crown and it is coming within months. Could not put this book down..

Surprising, twisted and very entertaining
I very much enjoyed this part in the series. It was very entertaining, funny and worth every single laugh. Loved how the plot went and provided some hilarious situations. In this one Mr. Match plays slightly different role and I loved that another part is not just another copy of the scenario already used in first part. So it is not just the same story but with new couple starring. So big plus from me for that.
I loved Hamish’s self loyalty and conviction, he knew what he wanted. This series is a really enjoyable study of love. I can’t wait to see what is in store for Max.

I was really looking forward to Hamish’s story. It was a sweet story and I loved the Durnish family.
I was a little disappointed in this one compared to previous books in the series. The story and the characters did not feel as well developed. There were also a few editing issues that managed to distract me from the story. I think the premise was interesting, if a little unbelievable at times.
Another amazing book in the ‘Mr Match’ series. This book is a second chance romance that is sweet, witty, funny, and moves at a brisk pace. It is well written, well developed, and to the point, and there is a great pace from scene to scene. The characters are likeable with intense chemistry between them. The story ended perfectly and with a satisfying HEA.

Scoring a Prince by Delancey Stewart
The third installment in the Mr. Match series does not disappoint! An interesting twist for Mr. Match himself, but we all know true love prevails.
Hamish MacEvoy is 17th in line for the throne in Durnland, and is in no hurry to become King. But tradition is tradition, and according to tradition, he needs to be married before he turns 30 in order to maintain his birthright. But Sophie has been lost to him since he left Durnland. His letters and emails all went unanswered, so Hamish was forced to believe that Sophie had moved on.
But when Fernando brings a sticky toffee shortbread cake to dinner, he knows Sophie is in town. And baking cakes.
After Hamish had left Durnland, Sophie decided to surprise him and followed him to the States. But the surprise was on her when she found Hamish surrounded by beautiful blonde women, clearly not missing her. Unbeknownst to Hamish, Sophie stays in town and opens a wedding cake store. She’s just fine in her life, thank you very much, until one Durnish Prince walks into her bakery.
As they rekindle their relationship, trying to make up for six years apart, they also have to navigate Sophie’s stepfather, Hamish’s family and the Feats.
Meanwhile, Mr. Match is wondering how this all came about – without him.
Delancey will make you laugh and cry and give you all the feels. Not to mention sheep. And soccer players in kilts.

Loved this book!! Hamish and Sophie loved each other from childhood and a misunderstanding kept them apart. Many years later they connected again and seemed to pick up right where they left off! Loved seeing them work through all their troubles and work towards a happily ever after. Also enjoyed the cameos from the rest of the Sharks and of course – Mr. Match!! Can’t wait for the next book!

Delancey is quickly becoming one of my favorite author. This is coming from someone who typically does not like sport romances. This series is Amazing! I love the characters and Hamish is beyond wonderful! I fell in love with his character when reading the synopsis and the book allowed him to exceed expectations. I recommend this book, series and author.

Here we see Hamish ‘Hammer’ whom finds his true love, though he’s always have had one, the one whom he left behind in Durnish & that’s Sophie James MacMartin, but he hasn’t been able to get her to contact him in the 6 yrs since his departure & she’s the one & only reason he’s never hooked up with any of the other women, who tries to go with The Sharks Players.
But it’s out of the blue from his eldest sister who tells him that Sophie followed him over & that’s gets his head in gear to try & track her down.
So we hear how things go & the reasoning why she didn’t track him/go after him.
They move extremely fast with some comical episodes of their joining. Lucky the team are in their Off Season time as I don’t know h how things would’ve worked out, or at least how long it would’ve taken Hamish to convince Sophie that she’s always been his one & only.
And we see doting during this time Max, who’s determined to see if they are destined & fit together under Mr.Match without letting on why he keeps asking these odd questions. But Hamish makes him to start thinking slightly about the heart & not just in the mathematically way.
Great read
