I’m no one’s savior.I work with the Cerberus MC for the thrills, not for the glory.Saving people who’ve been trafficked is just a side benefit, coming in second to the adrenaline rush of eradicating some of the evil in the world.Mia Vazquez didn’t seem to get the memo. When I pulled her out of Hell, she wouldn’t let go. She literally wrapped her arms around my neck and refused to release me.I did … neck and refused to release me.
I did the only thing I could do; I held her back.
For weeks I stayed by her side, comforting her and assuring her things would eventually get better.
She managed to climb inside of me, and then she took off.
Mia Vazquez didn’t get the memo.
She’s mine, and letting go of me doesn’t mean I’ll let go of her.

This is the 11th book in this phenomenal series and is Scooter and Mia’s story. When the Cerberus team are on a mission, Scooter finds Mia who was abducted 7 weeks previously, he becomes her saviour and the only person who can calm her. This is a well written flawless story which is emotional, heart-breaking, raw, gritty, thrilling, and with PTSD, healing and love. I was totally captivated throughout this addictive page turner, and I highly recommend this gifted authors’ work for all.
Scooter is amazing and I literally could not put it down until the very last page. I loved reading about Mia and Ryan and how they dealt with the experiences that impacted their lives separately and as a couple. It was a very emotional story with plenty of action. It was also a plus in getting to being reacquainted with the other characters in the Cerberus MC again. Great job Marie James!
Scooter is a story that will break your heart and mend it all at the same time. Mia is a woman who has suffered at the hands of the devil himself and lived through hell, Scooter is the man who saved her and she just can’t let go. Their story is emotional, heart wrenching and action packed. It is one that will have you captivated and on the edge of your seat right to the very end. The men of Cerberus MC are known for their hearts of gold and Scooter is no different. A man torn between love and respect and a woman torn between love and shame find themselves at a crossroad where nothing but their love will right the wrongs. Another amazing story that will own your heart completely.
In the previous book, Tug, we met Mia when she was rescued (so much more to it than that but this is a series and you really should read them all in order). Scooter just happened to be the one that Mia attached herself too, the first person that she felt safe with. Now they are in New Mexico, and Mia is trying to get better but after what she had been through, it will take time and lots of patience. Thankfully Ryan/Scooter seems to have the patience of Job, never rushing or pushing, lets Mia go at her own pace. But what happens when Mia starts to think that maybe he is only like this with her because she forced his hand? Is it true? Is Ryan only doing this because he feels he has too? Or is there more to what he feels? Can Mia ever truly get over what was done to her?
So this was super amazing! I wasn’t sure how this would go given what had happened, but Marie James pulled this off perfectly! Drama, danger, violence, a bit lower than her normal naughty bits (but totally expected that); I give this 5 stars.
:::SIGH::: Scooter is the one. Every time I read another Cerberus story, the hero just enthralls me and Scooter is no different. These guys are tough, mostly hard ass Marines. They need to be because of the work they do. They can’t be soft and take out the vile people they need to take out around the world. The minute Scooter rescued Mia (in Tug’s book), he became her protector…at least in her eyes. There was no one else she could put her trust in…not even her brother. But what happens when you let your head leave the game for even just a split second? There is so much healing that needs to be done and what Mia went through may never be overcome. Can Scooter deal with the fall out? And oh my I can’t wait to find out more about this wonderful new member of Cerberus.
How can you not fall for Ryan (Scooter)? He just doing his job with the Cerberus MC and doesn’t feel to be anyone’s savior. However, Mia feels different about Ryan after he and his team saved her from a Miami compound. She had been abducted, torture, and abused for seven weeks. She clings to Ryan instead of her family or fiancé Jason after being rescued.
Ryan did the only thing he could do and support Mia and hold her to keep the nightmares and triggers away for the abuse she went through before being found. He is patient with Mia. He must decide what he wants and if he can keep his head in the game. This last mission he went against the rules and almost got his teammate/friend killed besides himself. Mia is in Ryan’s head and heart that he may lose his job because his mind is not in right place during a mission.
Mia is confused with her feelings toward Ryan and doesn’t know what to do except leave and go back home. After fleeing the MC back home, she realizes that she doesn’t have a home to go to and her parents are too overprotecting that they get on her nerves. Her fiancé Jason has moved on and their relationship was over before she was ever abducted.
Will Mia go back to Ryan (Scooter) for comfort or go after the love she has for him? Will Ryan (Scooter) forgive Mia for leaving him? You will not be disappointed in this read. You will keep turning the pages to find out what happens. I volunteer to read ARC for an honest review.
After a dramatic end to Tug (Cerberus #10), I was so excited for Scooter!!! This book definitely lived up to my expectations and then some! Ryan/Scooter is patient and so sweet while helping Mia work through the trauma of her abduction. He is everything you’d want in a book boyfriend: sexy, sweet, caring, and protective. The Cerberus boys are on their quest to end sex trafficking and Scooter has his own vengeance to find. Mia and Scooter’s story is one of strength and love overcoming a traumatic history.
You’ll love it as much as I did, I have no doubt!!!!
This book was amazing. It continues from where Tug left off but can be read as a standalone. Scooter and Mia are opposites in every sense of the word. But as their relationship grows they both have to conquer the demons that hold them back. I can wait to see what’s next in this series.
Mia was kidnapped and forced into the sex trade, Scooter ends up saving Mia. Mia has a very long road to recovery, can she make it with Scooter’s help and his love?
This series is so wonderfully written and Scooter is no different. I fell in love with Mia! Her progress through the book dealing with the trauma she suffered. Scooter is the hero every woman wishes for. He does not disappoint! Neither does Marie! You definitely need to give Scooter a read!
Mia was taken and help captive for several weeks… she was in hell and ready tou give up…. then can a man and he was her hero. Rescued and it the hospital he is the only one that quites her demons and makes her feel safe…. To scooter this was a personal rescue. The team personally knew who they were there for…. he was there for mia when ever she needed him and the more time he spends with her the more she gets under his skin. The love that builds between them is so sweet and caring and shows how a real bond is formed… there story is one that really held my attention and I could not put down
Holy shamole .. scooter is just the sweetest most patient man and the best man for mia !! They both want each other but both need to learn how make it work betwwen them and boy do they learn as they go with major mistakes but mistakes that kind of needed to be made mistakes i loved watching them fall for each other !
Cerberus MC is an amazing club of men dedicated to saving human trafficking women. They work with the law by their own rules. The danger is always there but the results are worth it. It can’t get personal they have to stay focused.
When they went after Mia and the women with her it was personal–personal for someone because Mia is the sister of one of the men on the mission. When she was rescued it wasn’t her brother she clung to but Scooter. He was the one who carried her out of the dungeon of pain.
He wasn’t ready for a woman in his life, yet he couldn’t let her go. She needed him. He was the only one who could make her feel safe. His plans were to stay with her until she was ready to let him go–but when she was ready there was no way he could let her go.
This is a story of pain, fear, learning to trust again and to make a new life. It is touching and heartwarming to watch the rebuilding of her life and his. The author has an amazing ability to create an emotional bond with the characters. I love both of them. I loved their journey and the club and its goals are amazing.
I have several books in the series I haven’t read and have to go back and read them–I hope the series never ends.
Wow! This was another fantastic read in the Cerberus world. Scooter and Mia are a great pair. He rescued her from hell and he is her savior. This story has so much depth, great character development and a wonderful plot. As always, Marie delivers a stellar read!!
Title: Scooter
Author: Marie James
Genre: Contemporary MC Romance
**RECEIVED ARC FOR HONEST REVIEW**
I really liked this book. Marie James pushes the boundaries as she discusses taboo societal issues. In this book our heroine is Mia who was rescued from the flesh trade by Cerberus MC. Yes there is sexual tension but that really isn’t what this book is about. It is about Mia finding herself again and finding the safety she needs to start living again. BUT…
Is it just me or does her relationship with Scooter feel a little like Stockholm Syndrome? He was her savior and so she felt safe with him. I understand all of this but she is falling for an idea not the real him. He tells her inane stories of his life. Nothing bad, nothing overly emotional. He makes sure she is well cared for and the brothers don’t do anything to upset her. None of that is the root of him. Plus we hardly get to see the true him. The true Ryan/Scooter. Where he came from, what makes him who he is? Why does he prefer his room to parties? We get all the nitty gritty on Mia but we need it also on Scooter. Why does he feel he can’t walk away from Mia?
Anyway, I give this 4 out of 5 stars. I really recommend reading this book and series. I have loved Cerberus since the start. Marie James is a wordsmith and knows how to pull your heartstrings.
Scooter is book 11 in the Cerberus MC Series written by the amazing author Marie James. This is Ryan “Scooter” & Mia Vazquez, they met in Tugs book ( Cerberus 10 ) after she’s been kidnap for 7 weeks. The Cerberus MC is not your typical MC club, they’re a group of ex-Military men trying to get rid of some of the evil in the world, like drug cartels and human trafficking lords. Scooter and Sweet Mia are a amazing together. A very deep and heartbreaking story of survival, hope, trust and romance. Marie James has done it again. Can’t wait to see who’s next in the series!!
Scooter is book 11 in the Cerberus Series and these books keep getting better and better. The whole series is so good that I really Can’t pick which is my favorite. I love them all equally. Scooter was introduced in That’s book and I already knew that I was going to love this book.
Scooter works for Cerberus and has for quiet a few years. He does it for the adrenaline rush, not for the glory or what he could get out of it. Scooter is a guardian angel to Mia. He swoops in to her life of hell on earth and rescues her. His face is the first she sees and he is her savior. So when she freaks out in the hospital, he is the only one that can calm her. Not her twin brother, not her mom and dad, and definitely not her fiance. She is on calm in Scooters arms. Through this they build a relationship. But can it last is the question. Will they be able to make it work where they have only known each other a very short time and her with a fiance? Or will it all crumble? Please pick up a copy to find out. You don’t have to read the whole series to catch up. Each one of these books are a stand-alone and can be read on it’s own. But after you read one, you will probably want to read the whole series. Enjoy.
He was her savior, the one to carry her away from the nightmare that she had to endure for seven weeks. He was the one she clinged to in the hospital and the one she left with when she was released. Now, he is the one that can’t keep her off of his mind. She shares his room and his bed for her piece of mind. One phone call has her realizing that she is consuming all of his personal time and possibly ruining his personal relationship. But she consumes his thoughts and without knowing it, and him realizing it, she also captures his heart.
Mia’s recovery has hinged on Scooter’s closeness and his patience. She is scared and uncertain about everyone and everything, but then no one blames her considering what she’s been through.
This is an amazing story with a hard storyline that attacks you, makes your heart weep then makes you soul sing. The characters are well written and quite complex in their own way. Scooter is amazing as a member of Cerberus, but he is just the kind of man that knows how to calm a panicked Mia, how to talk her down and how to take out all of the evil men who took her and traded her body for money.
An exceptional read and I cannot recommend this hard hitting, gut twisting story highly enough.
Mia is abducted by a horrible human trafficker. Scooter former Marine on a mission to rid the world of horrible people. What happens when you send in a former Marine to rescue this young lady? Mia is afraid of everyone after being held captive and only Scooter the rescuer can calm her. What is going to happen down the line with these two?? Come and join the continuing ride with the Cerbus MC.
Holy cow where does one meet a guy like Scooter. He’s strong and deadly yet tender, patient and caring. As part of the Cerberus MC team, he fights and sees the worst of the worst in the world as they hunt down drug lords and human traffickers. As we learned in Book 10 of the series, one of the team’s sister is taken. Scooter is the one that found Mia in the darkened room and brought her out the hellish world she’d been captive in. As Scooter’s story starts, Mia is in the hospital and has latched on to Scooter. This is not uncommon since he is the one, in her mind, who saved her. But Mia is special. Scooter is struggling between what Mia needs to recover and what his own personal wants and needs. For weeks he’s the only thing Mia clings to but her grief and guilt pull her to a point she feels the only thing she can do is run from Scooter and the club that has kept her safe.
This is a very exciting, thrilling and very emotional ride. The author has done an amazing job with these characters who are dealing with some very real PTSD situations. This book broke my heart, just to build it up and start the process all over again. Kudo’s Ms. James for an amazing well written storyline.
2 Thumbs Up and 5 Stars for Scooter. A book that I Highly Recommend grabbing up ASAP. You won’t regret it. In fact the entire Cerberus MC series is just phenomenal.
