I’m no one’s savior.I work with the Cerberus MC for the thrills, not for the glory.Saving people who’ve been trafficked is just a side benefit, coming in second to the adrenaline rush of eradicating some of the evil in the world.Mia Vazquez didn’t seem to get the memo. When I pulled her out of Hell, she wouldn’t let go. She literally wrapped her arms around my neck and refused to release me.I did … neck and refused to release me.
I did the only thing I could do; I held her back.
For weeks I stayed by her side, comforting her and assuring her things would eventually get better.
She managed to climb inside of me, and then she took off.
Mia Vazquez didn’t get the memo.
She’s mine, and letting go of me doesn’t mean I’ll let go of her.

Mia was abducted and missing for seven weeks. Seven weeks of absolute torture and terror. On the verge of giving up her fight, a savior arrives to give her some hope. She doesn’t fit in anywhere now. She’s afraid of everyone, every touch, except his. His touch is comfort and solace. Only with his touch do her demons quiet a bit, but how long can it last? She can’t disrupt his life forever.
Ryan aka Scooter, was on a mission with his team. Free women, and kill scum. Recognizing one of the women, he speaks to her, calms her, saves her. When he hears her screams in the hospital, he goes to her, eases her mind as she clings to him. When she says she wants to stay with him, he takes her back to the clubhouse. How long can he help her? It doesn’t matter…he’ll help as long as he can and have all the patience in the world for her. He wants her to heal, but he also has to keep his head on straight. Easier said than done.
Oh my do the Cerberus men just keep getting better? I’m in love with this whole series. Scooter was amazingly patient and kind. I love that he’d do anything to help Mia. I loved Mia’s strength. So many couldn’t overcome the things she went through. It has to take time, and the right people surrounding you. As always I can’t wait for the next installment in this wonderful series. Thank you for amazing stories Marie!!
Mia and Ryan A.K.A Scooter met in Tugs book. She had a horrible life event happen to her and Scooter helped rescue her in more ways then one. That had great chemistry from the beginning and it grew hotter and stronger the more they were together. This book definitely brought on the water works for me. A few scenes in the book made me want to punch Scooter but in the end they worked it out! As always Marie James writing is phenomenal!! Can’t wait to see who’s next in the series!!
