A terrorist atrocity rips through London the day before the body of a young Asian man is found in the grounds of a stately home, near the West Country town of Abbeyford. DI Kate Redman and her team take on the case, but are hampered by a lack of identification on the body, not to mention the odd location of the crime scene.Eventually, they identify the young man as a certain Ibrahim Bashir, but … Bashir, but this only leads to more confusion – because it seems that Ibrahim Bashir died fifty years ago…

Kate Redman is a character who reflects our own humanity–our struggles, our life crises, our insecurities, our doubts, and our foibles; but also our strengths, our intuition, our empathy to others. I like her immensely.
Reading through the series. I like the author’s characters and story lines, the mysteries to solve are an add on to the relationships of the crew and their families. I recommend this Kate series for quiet night reads.
This was a good British mystery. Well worth reading.
This was a good read. I have read this author in the past, and will again. Story moves along at a good pace and kept my interest till the end. There is something so satisfying about finishing a good book!!
Loved the story. I didn’t guess the ending, which is always good. It’s not often that I will stay up all night to finish a book. Read it you won’t be disappointed
An enjoyable detective novel
This is about a female detective in small town England. She gets called about a dead body at a historic house.

Couldn’t put it down. Loved it.
The breadth and depth of the mystery kept me on the edge of my seat trying to follow the various streams of the plot until the solution of the mystery is revealed. 33
It was ok. I found it harder to get into it than previous books by this author
I have read many of the Kate Redman books by Celina Grace. I liked this book, but most of her others are better. There was too much ‘lovelife’ stuff…I want mystery, action. But I still love all the characters and the settings of these novels. I will read her next book in a heartbeat!
I felt a little confused at the beginning with so many characters introduced so quickly. I imagine that was probably my fault as this was the first book I read in the series. Going back to book one.
Definitely a thumbs-up
Loved it!
The ongoing saga of Kate Redmond is always interesting and a good read. Great Book!
Well written book with lots of red herrings as the Team discussed in the last chapter. Truly enjoy the Kate Redmond series and am comfortable with the characters.
Good story, pleasant read. Detectives seemed to dawdle – spent more time eating lunch than solving crime.
Note as enjoyable as other Kate Redman novels.
There were lots of twists. It was interesting and kept me entertained.
