School of Hard Knox, is a mafia short read with panty-soaking steamy encounters between an alpha bad boy and a mafia princess, and enough action and suspense to have you begging for more. Knox is a real thriller with an HEA ending, and dark mob themes.

This book is the third installment of a Bad Boy Mafia romance, ‘Crime Family’ so, it is not a typical hearts and flowers romance. Vanna, the Don’s daughter, and Knox, the ex-marine now bodyguard/hitman for the Mafia. Their lust and passion for each other is instanteous, hot and sexy. It is also forbidden. I don’t want to spoil it but, it is not until extreme circumstances that surround Vanna and Knox to they let themselves begin to understand their feelings for each other.
This is a fast paced, action packed ride that keeps you hanging on until the end. The sexy parts as well as the violent parts are intense and full of anticipation for Vanna and Knox’s relationship. A really good read that gets your heart pumping.
This is the third book in the Bad Boy Mafia Romance series. You do not have to read the first two (Fear the Reaper or My Sweet Revenge) to understand this story; however, there are recurring characters. This story revolves around Know and Vanna. Knox is a (former) Army Ranger who did 3 tours in Afghanistan in intelligence. He is 25 years old and has always had a hard life. He understands that life is hard and has grown into his circumstances doing what he is best at: killing. Vanna is a 22 year old woman who leads a sheltered life as her father is Don Fabrizzi. She is kind of floundering in her life as she does not know what she wants out if it until she meets Knox. Knox and Vanna’s first meeting is hot! It is a no names, instant attraction, and jump into action type of meeting. It really sets that pace for their relationship in this story. After their “hook-up” Knox is asked to become the protector of the Don and his family (including Vanna), from the Mafia war that is brewing.
This story is a continuation for the first books but with a completely different perspective. Seeing the coming war from the prospective of not only the Don but also from his “bodyguard” is a great advancement to the story as a whole. There were secondary characters in this story that we learned more about in the first two books. Nick from My Sweet Revenge and Chris Gathers (Lia’s father) from the same story. This was a great way to tie the three stories together without detracting from the main characters or plot in this book.
There were so many great lines in this story; I had a hard time choosing my favorite for this review. I came to the conclusion of this one because it did not give any plot points away and it really explained Knox’s character perfectly: “When he goes out and you’re worried about him, don’t pray for him. Pray for the bad guys because they’re the ones not going home that night.”
This story is 23 chapters with dual narration and can be read in about 3 hours. It had no spelling or grammar errors and was a pleasure to read. It has the perfect amount of action and romance. As these books come along they seem to get better. I am finding it quite difficult to pick a favorite character or story line. Another great work from Asher Scott; looking forward to book 4: Stroke of Midnight.
