Two fantastic authors have come together to create one intriguing world. We meet Adi at a very low point in her life. Just when things are about to hit rock bottom she is thrown a lifeline of a paid scholarship to Raven Academy though it comes with strings. Once she arrives all kinds of strange things start happening and mean things. I wanted to cry with her I must say. Just when it is all hitting a peak we get a surprise twist that won’t be answered until later books. Great new world with intriguing characters. I really liked it so I give it 4/5 stars.
This was an interesting book. It definitely left a lot of unanswered questions. I did like the mystery about it and the story of Adeline. There is bullying, sickness, and death so those could be potential triggers. The book itself is well written and easy to read. I found it to be short and left unanswered questions. Book two is a must after so you can hopefully find the answers to the many questions. Most important one is what is going on with the weirdness of this school.
The mystery, suspense, drama going on in this story will have you dragged in and unable to put it down. It is beautifully written and the descriptions are vivid to the they are easily able to be pictured. The characters have amazing personalities that are felt throughout the story. Adi is strong but yet weak at times. You can see the potential for growth easily in her. The support characters fit perfectly in their roles. This is a must read and doesn’t disappoint. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.
I have been on a Mila Young bender for the past couple of few weeks now…there’s just something about this author that keeps pulling me back into the fold. This book was well written and it’s held my attention throughout the story line…thank goodness that the next book is already available to read, because I don’ think I could have handled the hangover if I had to wait for the next book!
4.5 for this review I’m drawn into this book but I’m confused. Just when I think I know what’s going on things change but it’s good change because it has me turning pages to find out what is going to happen next. There are lots of little leads into what I’m hoping is eventually going to give us answers. The book ends on a cliffhanger. I’m loving the characters the boys are all dark and mysterious, and just when I think Adi is just another normal girl a twist gets thrown in there to make me think maybe just maybe she’s something more. Looking forward to reading more so I can get some answers as to what is really going on at Raven Academy….
Adeline had dealt with bullies all her life, but those of Raven Academy were more complex and intimidating. Something was amiss in there with so much secrecy, the strange situations and too much hate making things worse to borne for Adeline. A story with mystery, intriguing characters and suspense that had me eager to know what really happens. Going for the second book.
This is the first book in an interesting series by Mila Young. It takes a very unique concept and changes it to slightly to incorporate it into a wonderful series.
This book introduces us to Adeline our main protagonist. It starts out with her trying help her family and begins her journey into a world that she never imagined. Along the way she’s introduced just several interesting men including Alexander, Braxton, Finn, Nyx, and Dante. Each of these characters has their own history and leaves us wanting to know more as we read.
This book ends on a slight cliffhanger and definitely leaves you begging for the next book. I definitely recommend this book as it takes a good mystery and leaves you wanting more, as so many questions are left unanswered. This book is the beginning of a series that you just won’t want to put down.
I absolutely loved reading this although for some reason it took me a while. i think its because the cover makes the book look almost sweet which is not at all my cup of tea. However i decided to give it a go as i love both authors and believe me it isnt as sweet as it first appears.
There is almost something Gothic about it and the storey certainly has an underlying darkness, Full of intrigue plus plenty of twists and turns to captivate your imagination
Really enjoyable read which i devoured in one sitting.
Adi is your typical high school girl just trying to survive. She is called ghost girl by the bullies at her high school because they say she’s invisible. Then she gets accepted to Raven Academy and meets her new BFF and hopes that things will change. Enter a new mean girl…… this place is beyond strange just ask her new best friend, and the strange things are only hinted at and make you guess and want to know more.
I know these two lovely and amazing authors will not disappoint us when all is revealed. I cannot wait to find out what is going on at this Academy
When I saw that CR Jane & Mila Young were writing together I have to admit I was a little excited. These authors have come together to write a story that compliments both their writing styles and has you captivated from the first page. This book has so many twists & turns, but they never give anything away and it keeps the reader captivated and wanting more (or at least it did for me). I feel as though I’ve been left at the end with a whole host of questions, some of which I’d had since the beginning. To me this is great because it separates this book from so many other paranormal romance books out there that give everything away and spell everything out for you.
I cannot wait to read School of Broken Hearts to see where Adeline’s story ends up.
**I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author for review consideration**
There’s a trend of new academy books and still on for reverse harem books. I generally steer clear because while I’ll read them, they aren’t my favorite. However, I do like Ms. Young so I tried it. This book is different from the ones I’ve read. Very mysterious and us readers are left in the dark about what is really going on, sometimes a little too much. And, sometimes, this book was a little too cruel, just like high schoolers can be which is why I avoid YA. However, I did really like this unique take on the academy genre and am looking forward to finding out what exactly is going on. Recommend this book.
**** No Spoilers ****
OMG, I have so many questions and no answers after reading this. I feel like I got robbed. But, this is still an incredible read! I could not put this book down until I was finished. When I got to the end I wanted to scream and throw my Kindle Fire against the wall. A WTH kind of cliffhanger. My emotions were up and down, I even cried a little, while reading this. C.R. and Mila did one heck of a job writing this. I want, need, more!
A MUST READ!!!!
•••••• I highly recommend this book/series! ••••••
~~ I have Kindle Unlimited, and I used that service to read this book. ~~
I couldnt stopped reading this book once I started, I was completely sucked into this story. It is a bully romance but it captures your attention with the details to the scene and the fantastic characters and it makes you feel as though you are actually there in the book. I love this book.
SoBS was an entertaining, has its moments of being funny, & quick read; yet, I feel like there’s something missing from the book like some dialog or something to help better explain what’s going on in some of the scenes. SoBS set up the premise for the series, leaves on a cliffhanger, so we the readers are hungry for more. Like every readers out there, I have my theories about the school & the “students.” (Hopefully, book 2, School of Broken Hearts, doesn’t leave us with a major cliffy, we could only hope.)
