When scars heal over, they trap the pain under your skin. Nothing bad or interesting ever happens to Elizabeth. She’s the rock all of her friends count on and come to for advice – especially her best friend and roommate, Dani. So, when Elizabeth’s fiancé Alex dumps her and she gets into a horrible car accident on the very same day, she’s not emotionally equipped to face her bleak future, much … equipped to face her bleak future, much less heal the scars on her heart.
Dani suggests Elizabeth should have a fling with Wade, the hot firefighter who pulled her from her burning car.
But she could never … could she?
Too soon. Too risky. Too out of character.
Too perfect.

The story of Elizabeth is truly rock bottom. Poor thing goes through everything in this story! Broken heart, broken body, loss of home and career. Luckily for her she has sexy firefighter Wade to build her back up. They start out as a fling but may have a hard time keeping it as only l a fling. Their story is really sweet with a little steam and Elizabeth is such a fighter!

Elizabeth, in one day, gets dumped from a long term relationship, gets into a bad accident, almost burns in car fire until a fireman pulls her free…. and meets said fireman with blue eyes. Talk about emotional roller coaster. This story has all the great bits to keep you entertained and glued to the pages. The surprises and twists work well and the backstories get you deep into their heads and emotions. Loved the story, the characters and the ending. Well done.

This is book four in The Open Door Love Story series , and is standalone.
Some people can’t deal or don’t know how to deal with personal tragedies.
Elizabeth was in bad car accident and lost partially her foot and her fiance Alex breaks off engagement.
Wade is the fire fighter that was at the scene . He not supposed to care but somehow he feels pulled towards her.
From the landing shoulder to cry on ,to friendship and relationship . With the little push from friends…
There are many twists and turns ,so many emotional situations that is almost realistic to might happens in real life.

A story with a lot in it, but unfortunately not all of it.
3,5*
Getting into an accident, fighting for your life to get out of a burning car, losing half your foot as a ballet dancer. Enough drama to fill part of a book. Elizabeth will have to pick up her life again and try to find another career now that dancing is no longer an option. Her ex-boyfriend (or not?) takes her in and Dani comes over to take care of her. David doesn’t know how to deal with Elizabeth’s disability and she decides their relationship is over for good. Is her firefighter who saved her the man who can get the fire back on her?
I liked the romance in this story. The fact how Elizabeth dealt with her limitations is somewhat unrealistic. The humor that should exist between Dani and Elizabeth did not come across to me, I thought it seemed a bit made and childish. All in all, a nice set up book but the emotions did not reach me

The fourth and last book in the Open Door Love Story series a well written story with a very good storyline, the story flowed smoothly across the pages. Elizabeth and Wades story has a lot of trauma for them with the people they care about getting put into hospital for different reasons, Wade handling the trauma in his own life, and Elizabeth handling the betrayal by Alex. This is a story that is well worth reading. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
A beautiful, emotionally moving book! This is my first time reading anything written by this author but I am definitely going to be watching for more of her books because she made me feel so many emotions while reading this! I was very impressed with how Ms. Wallace was able to bring all of the characters to life for her readers. Not just the primary individuals of Elizabeth and Wade but also all of the secondary characters were portrayed so wonderfully. Highly, highly recommended!!

Elizabeth has been in a long-distance relationship with her fiancé for four years. Why now is he breaking up with her? Can’t he give it a chance now that they can be together? But he says his feelings changed. She at least hadn’t unpacked the U-Haul trailer yet. In tears, she tries to shove the U-Haul door closed, but it is so tightly packed with junk and it won’t shut. So she heads down the highway, answers her roommate’s phone call, and never notices all of her things falling out on the highway behind her, other drivers honking and swerving all over to avoid her mess. She disconnects the phone, swerves to the side of the road, and her car goes out of control. She can barely breathe, her teeth aching and her nose badly broken. Then the car bursts into flame! A man tries to get her to turn away from the window so he can break it and get her out. Her right foot is caught painfully by something, but the car is about to explode. She pulls it free from the metal holding it as he throws her over his shoulder and runs.
Wade Darrow is the firefighter who pulled Elizabeth from her burning car. Elizabeth saw his blue eyes and black hair, and she thinks of Superman, her hero. They enjoy each other’s company, but then her ex-fiancé and Dani came in. Alex acted like he still “owned” her, calling her HIS Elizabeth. Then Wade left. But when she goes to Alex’s ranch to recover, he finally admits he doesn’t love her. She and Dani drive downtown for coffee and a sandwich. Dani asks what’s good, and Wade who was standing unseen behind them told her the best sandwich. His teasing with Elizabeth feels comfortable and genuine. Is this the beginning… or continuation… of something possible for them?
The author made the descriptions so vivid in this story that the reader was put right there in the scene to experience everything firsthand! I particularly liked seeing the emotional reactions among the characters which made them also feel so realistic. There are twists and turns in the story line, but the changes and growth of the characters is inspiring, especially for a ballerina who loses the toes of her right foot. Friendship and love keep her moving forward through both the physical and emotional aspects of healing. Will Wade become a part of her encouraging team of special people? Will they fall in love and get a HEA that seems long overdue?
Book four in the series brings Elizabeth and Wade’s story. The author does a fantastic job bringing all the emotions in this realistic story. She pulled me in with all the twists and turns and just dealing with the struggles and emotional scars Elizabeth deals with. It’s well written with perfectly painted scenes , moves fluidly and is a great read.

Never let the past hold you back…

Alex clearly didn’t care about their being an us anymore but seriously couldn’t he have said something before now?
And I don’t even know where I guess I’m going back to my friends home?
And if today couldn’t get any worse things go from bad totally horrific in sixty seconds flat.
Over and over again I try to digest the devastating news and I’m wondering how I’m going to make any of my previous plans work now.
The drugs they’ve been hooking me up with make me all kinds of weird and wonky that it doesn’t matter what comes out of my mouth.
Especially when my best girlfriend shows up to support me and maybe so she can stick it to my current ex-boyfriend who’s still here for some reason.
And even weirder still is the fact I’ll be convalescing at my ex’s because seriously my poor parental units couldn’t handle the mere moments they did spare me.
The only some what bright side is the fact my wonderful best friend is still with me but she’ll be leaving soon and I wished I had somewhere else to go. I’m desperate but not that desperate to hurry back to my parents.
But wouldn’t you know while out and about the perfect opportunity lands in my proverbial lap and feeling the way I do I’m not about to let it pass me by.
It’s pretty sad when all your things could fit practically In a shopping bag but then again it makes leaving all that much faster.
So new digs for hopefully an even better future because that’s all I’ve got now.
Wade’s the wonderful man who totally rescued me and more ways than one and now well now who knows where this rocky path just might take us.
Even as things seem to be going as well for someone like me
I get hit with a few unexpected surprises that seem to hit even harder then I would have even though they would.
For just one micro second life feels almost like it use to be however reality is a hard witch especially when you catch on to the real truth.
So like a goofy ping pong I’m bouncing back to where I just left and this time I’m not going to be swayed by my past anymore.
Instead I finally learned how to make the best lemonade ever.

Wade is the fire fighter that pulls Elizabeth from her burning car but will be see Elizabeth again as he felt something when he rescued her. There are many twists and turns in this book along with so many emotional scars and situations and it is so realistic to what happens in real life. Stacey Wallace is fast becoming one of my favourite authors and her books are written in a unique way and so true to life’s struggles. I definitely recommend you read this book and even though they are standalone books I feel that you will benefit from reading them in order and you will definitely not be disappointed.
