“My name is Scarlet Stone, and my biggest fear is that someday I will find what I want most in life, and it will be impossible to steal.” What happens when life just stops? When one moment makes you question your entire existence? Scarlet Stone is a third-generation thief who has everything: a doting fiancé, a spacious London flat, and a legitimate job offer. In a single breath, everything … breath, everything becomes nothing, and she finds herself on a plane to Savannah, Georgia in search of the meaning of life.
After securing a six-month lease for a beachfront house on Tybee Island, Scarlet changes the way she looks, thinks, eats—basically her entire outlook on life. She needs peace, but what she gets is a housemate who looks like Thor, acts like a warden, and smells her proximity like a Bloodhound.
Theodore Reed is a carpenter and perfectionist with a body built of steel, a black, hollow heart, and a hunger for revenge. He doesn’t like company, girly-smelling crap, and British accents.
He resents every breath she takes.
She’s fascinated by his every move.
In time, they discover their coexistence is toxic, their physical attraction is electric, the secrets they keep mean the difference between life and death, and the only truth they share is that everything is a lie.
“Over eighty-five percent of the world’s population believes in a higher power, yet, very few people believe in miracles.”

Like all of the Jewel E Ann books that I’ve read this one is so much more than just a surface story. It is a suspenseful family drama, a consuming mystery, a heart-wrenching romance and more. I was captivated from the first page til the last!
“My name is Scarlet Stone, and my nana told me I won’t know I’m in love until my heart is broken. Love doesn’t sound so great.”
I went into this story completely blind and boy was I taken for a ride!! I loved every word, every feeling even the most painful ones in this book.
“Don’t die,” I whisper, looking into his red-rimmed eyes as my tears fall to his face.
“Don’t die,” he whispers back to me a breath before we kiss like there really are no words left to say.”
Jewel E. Ann has done it again. I loved her previous book One and with every book of hers, I have high expectations when she releases something new. Scarlet Stone is another strong and powerful story from Jewel E. Ann. I simply loved the main character Scarlet. It’s not every book that I feel a love and connection towards the main female character but here I fell in love with Scarlet. Wholeheartedly! She was a fierce, honest and funny as hell British woman with some outstanding skills as a thief and anecdotes. She loved her father Oscar who adored his daughter and he would do literally anything for her. Their relationship was heartwarming and at times hilarious.
The story has a great mixture of humor, sentimentality and sensuality. The themes really struck a chord with me because of the human aspect of the story. I really didn’t know what to expect and where it took Scarlet but once I reached two chapters I was a goner. The story was different, so was Scarlet and her current circumstances took me by surprise. It only made the story more alluring and intriguing. The same can be said about a certain man named Theodore Reed. He was a mystery at first. His moody and angry personality created some very funny scenes with Scarlet who wasn’t afraid of him at all to begin with. On the contrary, she was having the time of her life. For the first time in a long time. Theodore and Scarlet were insanely hot and so good together. They challenged each other. Made them prioritize and reevaluate life. But there was a reason Theodore came of as angry and closed off. He definitely had his secrets and of course being a thief only got Scarlet into trouble. Not only with him but with the other intriguing characters.
Every character was layered, well developed and important to the story. Scarlet’s journey was about a soul searching for its mate, for love and yet so much more. I was mesmerized and filled with so many emotions ranging from sad to ecstatically happy. Her search wasn’t only for love but also for change and growth. Let me tell you all, Scarlet definitely succeeded with both.
Jewel E. Ann’s prose has never been better. Flawless. My expectations have been met and Scarlet Stone is not to be missed. Fantastic and unique.

In true Jewel E Ann fashion, she gives you a remarkable story that hits you so hard emotionally and mentally that leaves your mind spinning. The whole premise of this book and the characters that she created are off the charts. There was everything needed in this book that made it off the charts amazing.
Scarlet is such a unique character. She has spark and spunk. But she also has this soft side that makes her so endearing. Then you have Theo, who is rough and hard emotionally. He was a tough nut to crack too. But once Scarlet broke him, the flood gates opened for these two.
What I really found amazing about this story is all the side stories that just add to the dynamics of all the characters. From Oscar and Nellie, to Nolan and every bit in between.
Overall, I think this my one top Jewel books. The uniqueness and everything about it was just wow! Bravo Jewel on this stellar book!!
Scarlet Stone is a bloody brilliant book that left me completely gobsmacked, knackered, and gutted once I finished it. I curled up in a ball on my sofa and cried my eyes out until I fell asleep from exhaustion. This is going on my “One Of A Kind” bookshelf, once I get myself a signed copy.
I went into this book blind- I don’t think I ever even really read the full blurb. I just trusted that it’s a Jewel E Ann book and knew it would be all kinds of amazing, and it was. So I’d suggest the same for you. If you’ve read any of her previous books do yourself a favor and read this one- it’s an experience you won’t regret. My only regret is that I’m just existing in this life and I don’t know how to go about changing that.
