Gah this book was everything and more. Was hooked from the first book and still hooked and desperate for book 3. LOVE how India portrays her characters and makes you feel like you are right there with them. Don’t want to say much else as what I want to say will spoil the magical ride but I was so invested in this book I got major sunburn as I was so lost in the Haunted Roads world. Scar Me is the second book in the Haunted Road series, and believe you me, it has a lot to live up to. Steal Me, the first book in the series had me throwing my kindle at the wall when it finished. Would, and could, this one possibly live up to its predecessor?
Abso-bloomin-lutely it can!!! It starts exactly where Steal Me ends, but then we proceed to go back in time. Back to a time when Lilah wasn’t shattered from her experiences. Back to when she thought the world, and people, were good. We stay with her as she makes the decisions and choices that lead her down her haunted road. We are there for the trauma inflicted upon her. We are there as she shuts down – only this time we know the reasons for it.
Scar Me has a warning about triggers – and trust me, it is well deserved. In so many ways, this book is horrible. It gives you the truth that you might not want to admit to. It shows you how so many people don’t see, simply because they don’t expect to! And yet this is about hope too. You get to fall in love with a gentleman all over again, seeing him through Lilah’s eyes this time. I love Viola’s definition of ‘scar me’, and have no shame in admitting that brought a tear to my eye. There are a multitude of characters introduced in this book, that showed up in Steal Me, but you just didn’t ‘see’ them. Now you will, and find out their back stories too.
Now, fair warning, this book ends on just as much of a cliffhanger as the previous one. However, I am wise to Ms. Adams’ tricks now, so I didn’t throw my kindle this time. I am left deliciously confused, and yet not surprised, at her twist. This only leaves me wanting more.
Do I recommend this book? Don’t be daft, it’s an India R. Adams book. Of course I recommend it. I haven’t read a bad one of hers yet, and I honestly doubt I will. This is an author that gives you a piece of her heart and soul with every book she publishes. Was it worth the wait? Once again, absolutely. That doesn’t change the fact that #INeedBleedMe NOW!!!!
* A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book, and the comments here are my honest opinion. *

All I can say is that when I started this it was hard to put down but life got in the way during the day. There have been very few books that stay with me in one way or another and this will be one of those books. It was so raw and emotional that I felt the heartbreak Delilah went through and wished I could reach into the book and hug her and tell her all will be ok.
This book does have VERY tough subject matter and I am a strong person who has been touched by some of this subject matter of this book, but luckily not enough to affect my life as some have been scarred by it.
India, I felt all of the emotions that you put into this book and I love it when an author can do that.
Ok back to trying to move on from this and patiently waiting for the next book, which I WILL BE PATIENTLY waiting for it like yesterday.
This book may not be for everyone but I can say it didn’t make me shy away from it. Authors take a chance everyday and I am lucky to have been able to be introduced to this author late this year and I will forever be greatful for that.

This book…. Let me tell you what this book did to me. It gutted me open, that’s what. I read STEAL ME back in 2016, and have been impatiently waiting for this new installment. And it didn’t disappoint. I was an addict with a fix, cause I literally couldn’t put it down. Despite needing sleep. Despite needing to work. (hell, I’m writing this review AT work!).
I can’t even find the words. In true India R. Adams fashion, be ready to cry, laugh and be transformed, because SCAR ME does that. And so, SO much more. I was reminded of all the characters I love, and met some new ones TO love…and some to hate. Forever.
But through it all, the mastery of storytelling, the raw emotion in the words, the pace, the plot… I was gripped, flipping through the kindle pages, unable to stop reading, even when it was hard (and there ARE hard scenes to read in here, be prepared).
A mastery. 100%. If I could give it over 5*, I would.

To truly appreciate beauty, maybe you have to witness or endure the ugly side of life.”
Oh, ladies!!! I’ve asked, begged, for Delilah and Kenny’s story for months, imagining the worst. The thing is, never, and I insist, never, would have I imagined how painful and complex their relationship was.
I won’t tell you what happened and writing this review is tricky since even explaining the difficult matters Scar Me deals with (and they are numerous), would reveal too much.
With this story, India R. Adams wrote the darkest and most gut-wrenching of her books I got to read. Along with Delilah, the reader plunges into this bottomless descent to hell, feeling every one of her emotions.
Anger, guilt, desperation, shame, blended with the sensation of being trapped in that hopeless situation. I cried and screamed for her. Facing the constant pressure and danger, her loneliness amongst her family and her friends seized my heart.
“I was finding a moment of solace. I melted to his offered friendship. I melted to the innocent affections I desperately needed, until his lips touched mine.”
Delilah is an amazing young woman. Strong, caring and nurturing, she gave and kept giving until her light, her life almost completely faded.
“I’m dying inside.”
I’m thankful India wrote her story. Their story; It needed to be told, never mind the ugly tears.
But more than Lilah and Kenny’s story, Scar Me is about fight, strength, family and frendship ties. This is truly a haunting book, come play with the ghosts if you dare… the shadows are thick!!!
This is a tragedy, this is a love story. This is life.
#INeedBleedMe!!!
PS: I’d to give a huge shout out to Viola and Art. Sometimes annoying, they although brought a lot of the much needed oxygen that was needed to make it through this beautifully written heartache. Congratulations India!
I VOLUNTARILY REVIEWED AN ARC COPY OF THIS BOOK. THANK YOU!!! (less)

My Goodness India what have you done to me? There are no words to describe how I feel.
In Scar me, we see everything from Delilah’s POV. If I thought the first book was worse… then I’m definitely wrong because this book gave me whip lash, it was everything I wasn’t expecting it to be. I was always on edge, trying to figure out what was coming next and after finishing this book my soul feels it and I’m still at a lost for words. The naiveté, the raw fierce passion, loyalty, the lost of losing someone you love, while watching them destroy themselves and not knowing how to help- while keeping secrets from the ones you love and withering away everyday while a piece of you dies left me in a total mind fuck.
India definitely left me in my feels, crying for what could have been and then trying to figure out what the hell happened and wanting to stab somebody. I’m using the Author stick on this one because another bites the dust.

The 2nd book (waited 2+ yrs for this one) in the Haunted Road series left me with questions just like Steal Me, the first book in the Haunted Roads series. This series needs to be read in order so that you understand Scar Me…
I should’ve told.
I should’ve screamed…
But I didn’t. I loved him.
So down the haunted road I went
Wow the above quote is so true. But you don’t say anything and you don’t scream…you think if you keep quiet it will go away but what happens is so raw and emotional that it doesn’t go away…the mental, physical, and emotional abuse that is described in this story is so hauntingly dark that I had quiet tears rolling down my face. Quiet tears…something that happens when you relate to parts of this story. I wanted to hug Delilah and tell her everything will be ok…yes it hurts now but it does get better over time and the nightmares will go away
India, I didn’t think you could top your other books but this one was so raw and emotional and I thank goodness that I am a stronger person than I was when I was a naive, little town girl of 18, because this would have been hard to read at that age. You pull your readers in with your stories and make them part of it.
I cried but I also laughed….the characters are amazing and I wish I had a Diesel in my life when I was 18 years old…maybe he would have chased the nightmares away.
Raw emotional read and it’s not for everyone but I highly recommend
#INeedBleedMe when is it coming out?????

I don’t know about you, but I’ve waited over TWO YEARS for this book. Man was it ever worth the wait. It’s Adams’ rawest book to date. She pushes herself as a writer and tries to do justice to Delilah. It’s edgy and, well, brilliant.
I don’t think I’ve been this moved by a book before. This is a book about survival. A book about resilience, and weakness. It’s about how life isn’t all love and roses, and how not everything is black and white… How the spectrum of grey is impossibly vast, and how the line in the sand can be wiped away by the wind or a wave. Sometimes that wave turns into a tsunami and wipes you out, and you need to find a way to swim back to shore.
This book has some darkness to it. It will definitely make you emotional and punch you in the gut. It’s not a book for everyone. It’s trigger galore, but if you are strong enough to get through it, you will be rewarded by the profoundness of the story and the quality of the writing.
Like all of her books, Adams’ captures us into her world. When we read this book, we are so entranced by it, all we can focus on is her storytelling. I don’t know how many times I have to say it, but India R. Adams is one damn talented author. You WILL want to throw your kindle at your wall. You WILL want to cry and and proceed to go into the fetal position. But you will LOVE the torture.
Adams’ also rewards us with some of her sexiest writing yet. I gotta say, I was pleasantly surprised, and found myself craving for more. (Maverick IS my husband after all *shrug*).

Is it possible to hate someone you love? India R. Adams knows the answer and she has shared the Haunted Road that leads us to where Scar Me takes place.
Each of India’s books travel further down a path that lend her voice to an emotional past, but provides us with peeks at the BRAVE souls that cling to each other through loyalty and love, hardship and growth, and a final destiny-even if she waits for the next book to share it.
To be honest, I am feeling numb. I know before I begin one of India’s books that I will need time. Time to Absorb her words. Time to feel each of the emotions as they bubble up through those words. Time to prepare my mind to puzzle the ‘why’s’ of her characters’ actions. Time to heal the emotional scarring that has taken my heart hostage. And time to love the gift she has provided to us, her readers.
These stories are treasures that are wrapped in some of the most horrific experiences. They crush and slice you open. They sneak up and stand their ground, well after you have read them. They are real, in the sense that each thought filled component needs to take place, has been carefully crafted, and lies waiting for you, knowing you will never be able to release the power of their haunting tales.
India is precious. Her art is her ability to transcend the agony, and rise above her horrors like a phoenix.
She is deep, purple flames, that are cold and hot to touch. She sears her way into your heart.
And you are blessed to have had this amazing experience with her.

No one writes young adult characters, friendships, emotional journeys, and whispers of regret quite like India R. Adams.
I fell in love with Steal Me and Maverick as well as Lilah, Viola, Tucker, and the gang. These young people go through powerful, broken, and heart-wrenching experiences in Scar Me too but in the midst of it all there is hope born out of despair and light shining in the darkness.
This book deals with heavy themes of abuse, suffering, and the price of silence. So many lessons to be shared, lots of nuggets that are gathered together and by the end of the book form a solid mass of truth that can’t be denied.
Well-written, soul-speaking, truth-baring novel that will fill your thoughts long after the book is finished. There’s a reason I love this author’s writing. Her haunted roads aren’t for the faint of heart but have the true potential to change and save lives.

I have no words. The sheer talent of this author is beyond explaining. The levels she reaches with her words and with her descriptions are beyond anything I have ever read. Her ability to dive into the mind of the characters and so perfectly “show” the reader their pain, their torment, their struggles, and their victories, is unparalleled. Book 1 was beautiful, but book 2 had a vice grip on my heart and wouldn’t let go till the very last page.
If you’ve read book 1 you know part of the story. And I stress, “part of the story”. I thought I knew. I thought I had a clue. I didn’t know anything. More than once I was left dumbfounded, speechless, and grasping for anything to ground me. This book rocked me straight to my core. There is beauty in sacrifice and there is beauty in healing. This series shows both. I highly recommend this series to anyone that loves a heartwrenching story of damaged lives intertwined in a perilous dance that will break the reader almost as much as the characters are broken. It is not an easy read so proceed with caution.

I loved book one, Steal Me, and was instantly hooked because the story continues directly on from the first book. But then goes back in time and you get a more thorough understanding of the whole story.
This author is brilliant at writing emotionally wrought scenes where you literally feel drained from the experience that feels along with the characters. My heart just about broke into pieces but once again they were put together again. I can’t adequately with words describe how incredibly sensitive and emotive the descriptions of each scene is, the same with each character. To balance this there are some very humorous scenes, my favorite is the scene at the college party, too funny.
The story is told from Delilah’s point of view and we finally learn what life with Kenny was really like and what had happened to him. There definitely was so much that went on it needed a whole book for Lilah to tell her story. But hold on to your hats because this author is the queen of the unpredictable and throwing a spanner in the works, I loved it.
I am so delighted I get to read the third book when it releases soon. Such a sensational series or trilogy, once you start I dare you to stop!

Well, I’m dead. I’m just absolutely DEAD. Ugh… I trying to think on what to say. There are so many things I want to scream. I don’t want to give anything away. There are so many details throughout the book. I love seeing Lilah’s side of things. I wanted to know what made her change, what made her close up, and what made her open up once again. Parts of this story had me hyperventilating and other times I was raging. I need the next book like I need air. I NEED it. Not want but NEED THE BOOK. The ending is just something else. I don’t know how else to describe the absolute fuckness known as that ending. I loved every crazy minute of it.

Scar Me is book #2 in the Haunted Roads series. In this book we learn Delilah’s story from her point of view. Her life before she met Maverick. We find out what she went through at such a young age. This story is emotional and touches on a difficult subject. I liked this book, but I expected to find out how Delilah and Maverick’s love would turn out. And in fact, it ended up almost in the same place as the first part. I can’t wait for the third part.

Scar Me by India R. Adams is the second instalment of the Haunted Roads series. And while normally, I’d say you need to read the first book in order to understand everything, it’s not really needed, but it is strongly recommended. It’s taken me a while to even work up the courage to write this review. Because what words could possibly be sufficient enough to describe how significantly this book changed me. Told from Delilah’s point of view, we get a look at her love story with Mav and also get to see the darker side of her history with her ex-boyfriend. There is so much angst, so much heartache and darkness, I don’t know how my heart managed to survive it. It’s messing with me how much I need to read the next book. Hearing everyone’s sides of the story is something I never knew I needed. But the thing that messed with me the most, was that last chapter. That last page, last sentence. Talk about MIND. BLOWN. I really need the next book. I’ve been in such a book funk since this book. Praise to the author for writing a story that will stay with me forever.
Gah this book was everything and more. Was hooked from the first book and still hooked and desperate for book 3.
I’m speechless and in awe of the way this author’s mind works…..
I’m totally blown away with this book and don’t have words to give it justice. All I keep saying is OMG!
Suffering from a huge book hangover, and can’t bloody wait to get my hands on book 3

This is book is the second book in this series that I truly enjoyed reading. Great suspense raw emotion goes deep. I am loving this series can’t wait for the next book. No spoilers here I freely voluntarily review this book for my honest opinion
No words!!
I really don’t have the words to describe this book!! Reading Delilah’s point of view was difficult because we get to know what really happened!!! Delilah is a survivor!!! India put me through a roller coaster of emotions!! The cliffhanger!!! OMG!!! I can’t wait to read Bleed Me!!!
5*
Another great installment into Delilah life and how things are progressing with Maverick and her ghosts. I found the book drew me in as much as steal me and I was desperate for more answers to which some we got but was left with more to ask. I’m so desperate for the next book and wishing it was already October!
