OMG. India you’re killing me. The way you pour yourself into your books and emotionally connect your readers to them is beyond amazing. You my friend are going places.
This second installment to the Haunted Road series will blow you away.
The way India uses her words to build this story brings so much emotion. I hurt with it. You couldn’t fit more emotion into this book if you tried.
We didn’t get to read all of what Pretty D went through with Kenny in book one. Even though we knew what happened. This book will touch you in ways you never believed.
It doesn’t just touch on rape and abuse.
It’s hard to explain. But how India approaches this very sensitive subject is raw honesty. It’s not being sugar coated to make you feel better. It’s gonna hurt your heart and make you think of the effects this has on a person.
So I feel I do need to give those who may have experienced abuse be it mentally or physically. To know this book will have triggers that may upset you.
I loved Art and understood the difficulty and feelings between him and Delilah.
Kenny. I hated him throughout most of the book. Hate is a very strong emotion to feel. Even though Kenny is a fictional character I hurt with my hate and anger towards him. At the same time my heart bled for Delilah.
Then in true India style she went and threw in a twist and I was like. “OMG” And I suddenly didn’t hate him so much and started to understand. Didn’t make what happened right. But gave the reader more insight to a lot of things.
I wasn’t overly happy with the story towards the end as it felt like there was a big time gap and i felt something was missing. But I also understood what a heavy draining read this was and the mental and emotional strain it would have had on India whilst writing.
I could see her at her laptop with her memories and a box of tissues balling her eyes out.
The ending though. DAMN YOU INDIA!
