Enjoyed reading this book. It shows how one can attain love despite past, if given chance. A nice clean romance
SCANDALOUS REDEMPTION: All Lady Claudia Akford has wanted was someone to love her. When it came to the opposite sex she was always making a cake of herself. Her deceased husband Lord Akford never loved her. He forced her to marry him using scandal that he created. In the six years they were married, he sexually assaulted her, physically and emotionally abused her, cut her off from her friends and family. She was not allowed to form any kind of connection with anyone. She lived a lonely painful life. Claudia was glad he was gone. At her cousin’s country home, she met Lord Henry Shillington. Henry was automatically mesmerized by Claudia. But he could not continue a friendship with her because of his loyalty to his friend Lady Luvington. Claudia thought herself in love with Lord Luvington since his proposal six years ago before Akford fouled things up. After her mourning period, she went to Luvington’s townhouse to profess her undying love only to be rejected by him. He was happily married and had a babe on the way. Lady Luvington will never forgive Claudia and the embarrassment of it all caused Claudia to retreat to her cousin’s country home. Rejected again by Henry reinforced Claudia’s desire to never marry again. She had enough to contend with because the ton would never let her live down the scandal her deceased husband caused. The Duchess and her cousin convinced her to rejoin London society. Claudia’s first ball at Almacks was a smashing success. Henry came to regret his refusal of Claudia. He was such that his good friend Lady Luvington would not stand in the way of his happiness if that included Claudia. He set out to court her. Claudia ought to have told Henry from the beginning that she would never marry, but she was so lonely and staved for attention that she allowed his suit. When she was faced with Henry’s proposal she turned him away. Henry would not be deterred. He would wait until she came to trust him and then hopefully by then she would agree to marry him. Claudia agreed to let Henry continue to court her. She knew she would never change her mind about marriage and knew that eventually she and Henry would eventually part ways. But she could not stop seeing him. A very emotionally complex story. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. I received an Advanced Readers Copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
A story about a woman that has got a lot thrown down at her when it comes to love and marriage. Well written story but I would have liked more depth to it. More courting between the main characters. I like he fights for her.
Well mixed of drama, love, emotions and fate.
Captivating and enjoyable read.
I Highly Recommend this OVER 18 DUE TO CONTENT.

Lord Shillington gets jostled by Lady Akford and can’t get her off his mind since. He knows she is trouble but what if there is more to her? Can he get her to open up to him?
As Claudia and Henry get to know each other through social engagements their feelings and attraction grow. Will they both be able to step out of the tons opinions and see the other for who they truly are?

A well-written story. What Claudia Akford went through at her husband’s hands before he died no woman should have to. I am so glad she meets Lord Henry Shillington. This is a story that kept me turning pages I so wanted their story to come out right. This is a book I would recommend. I am now looking to read the next book. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and I also bought this book.
this story was really well plotted out. she had a crappy husband and now that he is dead she isn’t inclined to take on another husband, just a lover.
he wants more than a mistress, but can he convince her that their marriage would be different and much better than her first?
Read to find out.
a good read.

The well written storyline and the well developed characters had me glued to my kindle from the very first page and I remained totally engaged throughout the entire book! This book was such an enjoyable read that I ended up reading it in one evening!
A lord meets a foxed lady and our story is off in book 3 of the ladies and scoundrels series. In book 2 we meet Lady Claudia Akford and now it is Henry time to meet her. This book explains the reasons behind what Claudia did in book 2 this part of the book was outstanding and written in a way that you have to feel for the character. There is a great deal of sadness in this story yet from pain comes happiness. I very much enjoyed reading this one. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
The book has a good storyline that is captivating. The characters are intriguing, engaging, and well developed.
A charming Regency romance, Scandalous Redemption touches on a subject that it all too prevalent today, and one that causes just as much pain now as it did two hundred years ago. After the death of her abusive husband, Claudia has sworn off marriage, but she is open to an affair. Henry on the other hand, has no intention of ever treating a woman the way his father treated his mother. Due to the manipulative actions of her late husband, Claudia has been painted in a bad light and as she battles through the mire of establishing herself in society once more, she has to overcome the whispers and insults that gossip mongers heap on her. Despite his own misgivings, Henry begins to realise that there is more to Lady Claudia than he first thought and he reaches a point where he is willing to wait out her reluctance to subjugate herself to a husband once more. A story told with sensitivity, this book touched me, and I was especially glad that it came to a happy ending.
