A mafia romance about secrets and soulmates by Rachel Van Dyken, the number one New York Times bestselling author of the Eagle Elite series. The woods are lovely, dark, and deep, but I have promises to keep and miles to go, before I sleep —Robert FrostI was born under fire and swore to protect her until my dying day, I just never knew that one day, I’d be the very monster I was protecting her from. protecting her from.
She didn’t know it was me.
She didn’t know that I had no choice and would do it again and again to save her.
I may as well have given her the mark on her finger.
The one that shows where her loyalty must lie.
Because we don’t sin in silence.
And eventually, you have to pay up what you owe.
My need to protect her turned into a lie to save her.
And when she found out—I turned in to the very monster I was trying to protect her from.
Watching Violet Abandonato walk out of my life was like a knife to the chest, a wound that refused to heal.
The bosses sent me to protect her, to watch over her even though I was the demon she fled.
We both carry scars.
But if all I can have is her hate for as long as I breathe.
I’ll take it.
Because at the end of the day, I should burn in Hell forever thinking Chase Abandonato’s perfect angel would pick me—over her perfect life.
“I broke you,” I confessed.
“The worst part… is that you liked it,” she snapped right back.
Welcome to the second generation of the mafia, may the best man or woman, be left standing.
May God bless our tainted souls.

I don’t often cry when reading books. It is a far slight chance of it happening with most reads. Unless it is a RVD read. SOMEHOW this woman ALWAYS has SOMETHING that brings me to the edge. This book? You are not prepared.
The funny high is, is that its never the part of the book you expect it to be that brings you to your knees. That is a talent Rachel has, she can topple you in a single line of text and you never see it coming.
This book was fire from start to end. Breaker and Violet? You KNEW with the end of book one in this new series, that this novel was going to run you rampant, and it absolutely did.
Go in blind, you wont regret it at all. Breaker delivers a story that simultaneously breaks your heart and empowers you at the same time. Don’t ask me how, again, it is a RVD read.
Holy wow! I knew going into this one that I was going to need to hold on to my hat, so to speak, and man was that right! RVD really outdid herself with this one!
When we were introduced to the younger generation in Ruthless Princess, it was obvious that these kids were well trained by their parents and that was even more evident in Scandalous Prince.
Breaker and Violet have amazing chemistry and their friendship is endearing, has lots of layers and is full of emotion. Their story has plenty of twists and turns that will keep you on the edge of your seat and have you asking if you read that right!
RVD has a way with words in every book, but in her mafia books she also has a way of drawing you in and making you want to know these characters and spend time in their world.
You are not going to want to miss this book, but make sure you read Ruthless Princess first. It will help with some of the relationships and details you encounter in this one.
**I voluntarily read an early copy of this title in exchange for an honest review**
This book emotionally spit me out and remade me in all the best ways. I felt an array of emotions throughout the entire book – Rachel Van Dyken has the ability to do that for you.
I have read her entire Mafia Series and the first book in this one and you end up saying this ones the best – no this one is when in truth they just keep getting better and better!
This is a total spoiler free review – I’m just going to let you know that this is the story of Breaker Campisi and Violet Abandonto. If you are fans of the Eagle Elite Series that is Tex and Mo’s adopted son and Chase and Luc’s daughter.
Let me just say that I was not emotional prepared to read this book! I really got sucked in from the first chapter and it was one hell of a ride! So many feelings, so much heartbreak, so much love and a lot of in between. I always find myself loving the new couples more than the last. I thought Serena and Junior were my favorite but then I read this one and I’ve changed my mind!
Whatever you do, don’t make the mafia mad! Bullets and knives are coming out in the latest book of the Mafia Royals series, Scandalous Prince, by Rachel Van Dyken. I couldn’t put it down! RVD is an amazing storyteller and she writes “mafia” like no other. This was a unique take on the whole forbidden love story, and it is incomparable to all other books. Since this is the mafia, we are talking about there is quite a bit of drama, violence and of course some deep, deep loving. All our favorite Eagle Elite alumni are in the story and just because the story is about the new generation of mob bosses, doesn’t mean that those tough, lethal, gorgeous men are any less key to the story line. 5-stars for Scandalous Prince by Rachel Van Dyken
Violet Abandonato has grown up as a mafia princess. Rules were made when the “Originals” started having kids…NO RELATIONSHIPS among the children. But the heart wants what it wants, and Violet wants her best friend, Breaker Campisi. Breaker has always been Violet’s personal protector but one night there’s nothing even the great Breaker Campisi can shield Violet from. One horrible night changes everything in Violet and Breaker’s life and a new enemy is brought forth. Breaker has secrets that can only do harm and once everyone learns of them, the Scandalous Prince will be hated by all.
5 plus stars!! This is the second book the Mafia Royals series. It is a stand alone, although there are some spoilers to Ruthless Princess if you haven’t read that book. I can’t say how much I loved this book and couldn’t put it down. I had to read 3/4th of the book before I felt I could stop. Breaker is the adopted son to Tex, the Capo and Violet is the first born and princess to Chase, making her mafia royalty. They have been best friends with an underlying attraction for years, that they have not let themselves fully embrace because of their families and the oath they took. It is hard to say a lot about the actual story without giving away any spoilers, but this book has everything— horror/surprise , sadness and laughter. If you are a fan of RVD’s EE series, we get more of our favorites, but it is not necessary to have read any of the EE books to enjoy this one (but it may hook you and then you will want to go read those books.) Do not miss this book but be ready… this book goes from 0-60 in the first couple of chapters.
