Great reading to take your mind off things. The surprise element and the action packed activities with the unexpected make. a great read and reflection on the classification of women at that time and in that era and place.
If you’re looking for a lot of sex, you’ll enjoy all the books in this collection. I likes one of the 3 stories as it was more real; a young women presents for her first season as clumsy and of no lineage, embarrassed by a male member of the ton. She had been falling for him and she had to leave for a year. She returns better than ever and he is going broke. It turns out to be a good love story.
~~Book 1: A Gentleman’s Promise: Charlotte King has decided to marry Lord Remmick, a vile disgusting man, and Lord Mason Helsing is not liking it. Mason and Charlotte grew up together and even though their paths have split, Mason can’t stop thinking about her. When he learns who she is suppose to marry he tries to talk her father out of it. Charlotte too has 2nd thoughts but her father assures her it is just nerves. The two marry and two years go by. Charlotte’s husband is cruel and beats her regularly. When Mason hears he rushes to London and tries to convince Charlotte to leave her nasty husband and live with him..Fearing scandal she endures, until she learns what love truly is. Now that she has known love she won’t go back. She leaves her nightmare and moves into a hotel. Her husband finds her and tries to beat her once more. Heavy Sigh a Knight in Shining Armor appears and beats the crap out of that lowlife and the two run away! The story flows and is fabulous. I wish these stories were longer!
~~Book 2 A Captain’s Order: is a delicious, sexy tale about a Lady Eloise who followed her brother to Australia, only to lose him to a fever from a bug bite. She gets on the next ship available (that is only going to Africa, where his home is) and heads back to London. During the 6 months voyage she meets and falls for the Captain. He feels the same but will not set foot in London. She must return now that she has inherited everything. She feels duty bound and knows she must find a husband. She leaves the Captain and returns. Once there her best friend helps her get settled and Eloise begins the season. While at a masquerade ball a handsome Duke asks her to dance. She agrees and instantly recognises her loved one. They have a bit of a row but of course make up. Everything is going great until someone from his past brings up his scandal. The reason he left London in the first place. She must now forgive him before it becomes too late!! Wonderful story with a bit more sex than the other tale…just a warning!
~~Book 3: A Marriage Made in Mayfair: Miss Suzanna March is an heiress (her father made his fortune in Trade…a no no for the Ton) starting her 2nd season. Her first season was a complete disaster. The reason for the disaster is Lord Danning, Royce. She was so in love with Royce but because she is not titled he humiliated her something fierce. She as a result ran off to Paris and became more polished. She is back and simply stunning. Royce finds out that he and his estate is in debt and in trouble due to his brother’s gambling . He needs an heiress. Royce makes nice with Suzanna but if it because he needs her money. She loves who she loves but will always doubt. So her brother does something as revenge and once Suzanna finds out she must decide. She trusts Royce (for he really loves Suzanna now) and Rescues her Knight in Shining Armor.
I love Tamara’s writing and although her stories have a great happy ending. The path she puts her characters through are fun, witty and adventurous! You will not be disappointed in this set.
All the stories were lines were limited do to the amount of sex in each story. Liked the last story best.
Not much.
Abuse is never easy to digest nor understand, but the author clearly uses the sense of duty to make the 21st century reader understand the historical significance of marriage andhow drastically many were abusive and not romantic.
Mediocre. Ok read, nothing exceptional. Story lines and characters a bit weak.
All of the stories were entertaining. I like to have a short story that I can read when I don’t have the time for a full length book.
