Couldn’t put it down.
This was a pretty good book. 4 stars because of the F- word. Not a lot of it but enough. Author needs to know not everyone talks like that! Still a good story. Joy left Chicago to get away from her ex- fiancee. She went to the small town of Heron’s Landing. She is a journalist and not everyone likes journalists. She meets Adam who is the owner of River’s Bend. A vineyard that has been in the family for generations. There have been bad weather the last 3 years and therefore not great harvests. Joy and Adam clash immediately. He hates journalists. Has a good reason but still hates them. Adam’s wife was killed in a car accident a few years ago and he hasn’t been the same since. Adam and Joy exchange barbs at each other all the time but there is still a lot of electricity between them. There is an attraction between them they can’t explain. A standalone with an HEA! Pretty good story!!
Journalist moves to small town to get away from cheating fiance. Disliking widowed winery owner at first, they fall in love. He accuses her of writing derogatory article, but
She proves she didn’t write it,. A good story. Too much explicite sex.
Didn’t really finish it. Found it inane
I enjoyed the characters and how they interacted
This couple is hot, sexy. They have chemistry the moment they start bickering. It’s got depth, agony, sex appeal, love, a bit of suspense. More of all love & forgiveness!
Adam Danvers is judgmental of the press. He has a good reason to be. Adam lost the love of his life his wife in a tragic accident, he stopped believing in love. Upon Caroline’s death the press was ruthless, since she was the famous socialite daughter of the Young’s. Upon the press’ digging they uncovered the skeletons of the Young’s family. That poisoned Adam with any respect to the press.

Adam can’t control his intense attraction to her. She’s witty; she pushes his buttons. All he wants to do is kiss her senseless. Ms. McGuire proves that she’s nothing like the writers he’s known, Adam can’t help but give in to exquisite temptation.

This book didn’t do much for me. I found myself more irritated than I found enjoyment in listening to this book.
I grew to like Adam better than I did at the beginning. His interactions with Joy gradually got better. His personality improved. Adam’s unwillingness to make changes in order to save the vineyard seemed more than a little unreasonable. I liked Grace, but didn’t care for Adam’s father at all.
I could not understand at all why Joy kept putting up with her ex. That really irritated me. I did like Joy other than that.
It seemed to me that there was a level of inflexibility or sense of being judgmental, or exclusivity, or something strange about Heron’s Landing. I can understand a sense of loyalty, but it was over the top sometimes.
There was more that I didn’t like than the things I did like. It was ok, but as the ending lead into Grace’s book, I wasn’t completely sure I wanted to continue. Which is sad because I enjoy this writer’s work.
The path to love is sometimes a rocky road as Adam and Joy discover. Their journey is a mix of personal issues. the need to grow as individuals, drama and emotion. Attraction and frustration eventually give way to a sustaining relationship.
Joy left Chicago to running from the hurt from her ex-fiancé cheating with her best friend forever. Heron Landing seems a nice little town to star over again. But when she meets Adam, River’s Bend vineyard’s owner, there is some spark. But she is a journalist and he hates them. Can he really trust her and open his broken heart after his wife died Somme years ago? Can Joy find happiness and love again or will she run again?
Exasperated, but loved the book!!!!!
I loved the book; however, at times I wanted to knock the characters upside the head to bring them to their ever-loving senses. Joy seems to have her “head on her shoulders” demonstrated by her breaking up with her fiancé and immediately leaving town. She met Grace when she first arrived in Heron’s Landing, and they became fast friends. When she met her brother Adam he was a real jerk. He hates journalists, but Joy convinces him that she isn’t “one of those”. Ups and downs, twists and turns, steamy hot and icy cold all apply to their “relationship”. I couldn’t put this book down for long before I had to read more. Ready for the next book in the series!
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Talk about an emotional roller-coaster. This is another pair that could sink an ocean liner with the weight of their emotional baggage. Joy, a journalist, has just discovered that her fiancé, now ex, has been cheating with her best friend. Adam has a legitimate distrust of the entire field of journalism. Sparks fly in every encounter between this pair, proving that love and hate aren’t really opposites. I love that Joy is so strong in who she is. She doesn’t pretzel herself to fit any man’s image of who she should be. The pain that Adam carries nearly broke me. I’m stunned that he could survive like that for so long – even if I did badly want to smack some sense into him more times than I could count. I would have liked to see just a little bit more repentance from Adam for his very significant screw-up. That, and I wanted to see a more medieval justice meted out on the “villain” of the piece. He got off way too lightly for my tastes. I loved the ending, and the lead-in to the next book just about broke my heart.

Welcome to Hero’s Landing where tragedy and struggles exist for Adam. He lost his wife in an accident and continues to try to keep his family’s vineyard in business. A breath of fresh air enters the town in a journalist named Joy. She is the opposite of Adam. Adam finds her frustratingly attractive, she drives him crazy, challenges him and turns him on. Dangerous. Joy has some proving to do in order to get into Adam’s good graces but finds herself wanting to be closer. This is a great story with characters have a few layers to learn and explore. Of course, what great story starts and finishes with a smooth road to a HEA, this one is no exception. Its about the leap to trust but can Adam and Joy make that leap together? Enjoy!

I love Iris Morland’s books and this one did not disappoint.
Adam has given up on love and is just existing since loosing his wife in a car accident. He is trying to make the family’s vineyard thrive.
Joy needs to get away when she discovers her fiance is cheating with her bff. She goes to Heron Landing.
When Adam and Joy meet the sparks fly. Adam had a strong dislike for journalist, Joy’s profession.
As these two opposites come together you realize their attraction to the other, while deep, is still precarious. When a secret gets printed, one Adam tells Joy, the worst is thought by everyone.
I enjoyed this book my only critique is Joy’s response to Jeremy, her ex fiance. He caused her pain and she realizes she never loved him, but she still keeps giving him the time of day. Why? He gets off way to easy in this story.
This is another must read by Iris Morland.
I love this book the second time as much as I did the first time. This book was originally published as Seduce Me Sweetly and I loved it. With the minor changes Iris made, I knew I wanted to re-read this book and this series and I’m so glad I did. This is the first book in the series being redone.
Joy comes to Heron’s Landing from Chicago to start over and get away from her cheating ex. Joy meets the local vineyard owner Adam and boy do they get off to a rough start. LOL! Adam is a widower who has been burnt by the media and of course Joy has to be a journalist so he automatically assumes she will be like all journalist and only care about exposing things and generating revenue. I can understand how Adam would be concerned but he just automatically assumes the worse. I wanted to slap him a few times but then again I wanted to slap Joy a few times time with the way she handled her cheating ex. The worse happens but Joy finally ensures the truth comes out. They finally work thru things and get their happily ever after.
If you want a great book, you’ll definitely want to check this out. I received an ARC of the new name of the book in exchange for an honest review.
Joy McGuire is a free lance Journalist moving to a sleepy little town to escape the betrayal of the two people she thought she loved the most. Adam Danvers is a widower with a great reason to hate Journalist. Heron’s Landing is a small town that sounds like a place you don’t know is there unless someone points it out. This story is will written and sends you on an emotional journey to healing two broken hearts and finding your true self. Looking forward to the next story in this series.
Joy is a freelance journalist, she moves to Heron’s Landing after an emotional betrayal by the two people closest to her. Adam owns a winery that is losing money. He hates the press because of the way the journalists acted after his wife’s death. When these two meet things don’t go well. Adam is mean to Joy and it isn’t until she confronts him things begin to change. This was a great romance. The story was well-written with great characters and an engaging storyline. The story is well-paced with plenty of emotions, drama, chemistry and love.

This was an amazing start to a new series. I absolutely loved all the characters. The emotions were so true I found myself crying along with the characters and I very, very rarely cry reading a book. I can’t wait for the next story in the series!!
