She’s his enemy, his downfall—and his one last chance at love. After Adam Danvers lost his wife in a tragic accident, he stopped believing in love. Instead, Adam has focused solely on running his family’s struggling vineyard in the small town of Heron’s Landing. When Joy McGuire, a beautiful and clever journalist, moves to the sleepy town, suddenly Adam can’t control his intense attraction to her. … control his intense attraction to her. She’s witty; she pushes his buttons. He wants to shake her as much as he wants to kiss her.
But Joy is a journalist, and Adam hates them all on principle. He saw firsthand how a journalist’s lies destroyed his late wife. Yet as Joy proves that she’s nothing like the writers he’s known, Adam can’t help but give in to exquisite temptation.
Soon a conflagration ignites between Adam and Joy. Yet as secrets unfold, Adam must trust in love or lose the woman who’s awakened his slumbering heart.

I really enjoy reading Iris Morland’s books. The Youngers and The Thorntons have been my favorites.
This book grabbed at my heart several times. It physically ached as I was reading. That is some great writing. I just kept getting pulled out of the emotional. Maybe it was the pettiness of the characters thoughts/actions at times? The decisions of the characters? Why did Joy keep giving Jeremy the time of day!?! I wanted to see Jeremy get his due, but that didn’t happen to my satisfaction. LOL
But I really liked the storyline. The characters aren’t sophisticated or hugely witty. They were normal. So many times I saw myself in the characters. The story hit close to home, in some ways. I look forward to reading more about Heron’s Landing.

Say You’re Mine is the first book in the Heron’s Landing series. Joy has just moved to this small town, looking forward to the chance of pace and making new friends, but her encounters with Adam leave her wanting to both hit and kiss him. Will both of these damaged heart learn to trust the other, or will their pasts drive them apart?
If you’re looking for a small town romance with an enemies to lover’s trope and some great side characters, this is the book for you! Joy and Adam have a rough road to finding love, but I loved how they both needed to deal with their own issues from their past to be able to face the love of their future. I honestly couldn’t decide if I wanted to love Joy for her freedom to be herself and how easily she could stand up for herself, or if I wanted to dislike her for some of her temper tantrums and pettiness. I do feel like she settled down with Adam and could feel comfortable releasing her emotions in a safe way. I loved reading how Adam transformed from a grumpy and untrusting bear of a man into a fun, compassionate, and loving man, but sometimes it was a struggle to read how easily he didn’t trust those around him. Both definitely made mistakes and had a difficult time trusting the other. I think, ultimately, they made a great couple, with her opening him up and him settling her down some, but I struggled to feel their connection. The steam was there and I loved the feel of the enemies to lovers. I liked the pace of this book and how it wasn’t an insta-love romance, and I liked that they both had some issues they needed to work through. All in all, I liked this romance!
Adam Danvers lost his wife when she was killed in an accident. She was classified a celebrity as her father owned a chain of clothing stores. Because of that, the families were hounded by reporters and journalist, trying to get all the tragedy and dirt they could find and when they couldn’t, they lied. For that reason, Adam disliked all journalists. Joy McGuire is a journalist who caught her fiancé cheating of her with her best friend. For that reason, she moved to a small town where Adam had his vineyard. As they sparred back and forth when they saw each other, she managed to show him what kind of articles and stories she wrote. As they grew closer and he started to see her in a new light. He trusted her and when a secret came out, he thought she had betrayed him. Actually the whole town turned against her, so she moved back to Chicago. His sister Grace was the only one who believed her when she said she didn’t go it so when Joy moved to Chicago, they kept in touch.
