I listened to the audio. An emotional story well performed and written.
Love! I fell in love with this story. There were some parts that definitely touched me and brought tears to my eyes. Although I knew somewhat what was going to happen (I read Say You Want Me prior to reading this) I was surprised with my emotions really early in the story *a good surprise*
I can’t even imagine being in Presley’s shoes after all that loss. SMH! I believe the worse and hardest thing to overcome is all the unknown (Why?) questions you’ll never get answers to.
Wow! What an amazing author. With every one of her stories I get food for thought
Completely blown away!
This amazing book took my breath away and stole my heart. Ms. Michaels sucked me right into the story and I felt like I lived every emotion. The writing was so stunning that I could close my eyes and envision every single detail. The story line gripped my soul and had my emotions all over the place. The characters – every single one of them stole my heart. They feel like family. It’s not very often that an author can write a story so strong that I feel it down deep in my soul but Ms. Michaels did with this one! I love second chance romances and this one is phenomenal! Be prepared to do nothing but read once you start this one! It is Un-Put-Downable! All the stars for all the feels!

Say You’ll Stay
By: Corinne Michaels
Narrated by: Andi Arndt, Sebastian York
Series: Return to Me, Book 1
A well written, well told beautiful second chance romance. The author takes you on an emotional rollercoaster ride giving some heartbreaking moments, some angsty, some sweet, some hot romance and of course drama. The characters are well developed and realistic as are the storylines. I adored Zach, his love for Presley, his strength and determination. Swoon: “I’ll wear you down Presley Mae. I’ll remind you that sometimes the reward is worth the risk.” This is my 1st book Corrine Michaels book and it will not be my last. Thank you for this great story!
I listened to the Audible edition, Andi Arndt and Sebastian York are awesome narrators and voice performers. They bring the story and the characters to life from the pages to your ears. Thanks for another great listen!
This book will take you on an emotional roller coaster. Presley thought her life was moving along as planned. She has a husband and twin boys. Her best friend Angie is also her sister-in-law. Then everything falls apart. Be prepared with tissues. With no money, house is ready to be taken by the bank, she makes the choice to take her boys home to Tennessee. Angie, who is suffering also is afraid her best friend will never come home. Presley lives inside her head and cares about what everyone thinks. Her family welcomes her and the boys home. No questions asked. But an old friend is there constantly teasing her and giving her grief. Like all good friends, Wyatt thinks it’s time to rip the bandage off. Zach, her first love, is there. Can you go back and get a do over? There is so much water under the bridge. Zach believes he can convince her to come back to him. She doesn’t know if that is possible but old feelings are bubbling up. Until everything is cleared up, that is not possible. You have to love Angie when she comes to Tennessee. Her and Wyatt are hilarious.
So many feels!! From the first chapter until the end, you can’t help but feel so many different emotions. I was already in tears in the first one. Corinne Michaels has done it again!
You really can’t help but feel for Presley. Everything she had been through and all of the things she tried to do to keep her sanity! I loved the relationship between her and Zach; I was rooting for them all the way… A young love you thought would last forever and it didn’t work out how you wanted it to be. Many years later you meet again and those feelings are still there…
This story is definitely a must read and I cannot wait to read the next one in this new series!
Second chance romance at its best. This story was truly an emotional ride. From the beginning chapters to the very end I found myself wiping tears from my cheeks. Presley and her tow young boys had the carpet ripped out from under them but with the love and help from an old flame, Zach, they all get their HEA. Love, love, loved it.
I can’t believe I waited so long to read this book! I’m so mad at myself! This book is amazing. This is one of the BEST second chance romance books I’ve ever read! Presley and Zach are amazing characters. I didn’t want their story to end. (Which is why I’ve immediately started on the next book in the series 🙂
Say You’ll Stay is the perfect example on why I love second chance romance stories! It is a beautiful, poignant and raw story that will capture your heart and never let go. I was in tears from the very first chapter when Presley’s world was flipped upside down as she suffered a terrible tragedy. Now she is forced to return to her childhood home with her boys and find a way to rise from the ashes. She struggles to reconnect with her family and friends while protecting her boys, her secrets and her heart. Unfortunately Zach, a family friend, and her first love, is there as well. How can she heal when the first man she thought would be hers forever, who left her broken in pieces, is now back in her life? Presley is Zach’s biggest regret. He never thought he would see her again, and now that she’s home, he realizes he must win her back. But can he convince a woman who doesn’t know how to face things head on, to open her heart to trust and love again? It will not be an easy road since they are both emotional and hot-headed and remember past events in totally different ways. Can two people who have sixteen years of hurt and anger, find their way back to each other, or will Presley’s secrets tear them apart forever? I loved Zach and Presley so much. They were so well developed and felt honest and organic. Zach was so patient, thoughtful, and caring with both Presley and her boys. Presley was so much stronger than she realized and it was beautiful to see that unfold. Both their families were great additions. They were warm, funny, charming and scheming. The pace of the story was perfect and the twists and turns kept your emotions on high alert. Ms Michaels did not take any short cuts in Zach and Presley’s relationship. She expertly stripped them bare and restored them back to life in an authentic and believable way, allowing us to feel every emotion along the way. This is a heartbreaking and heartwarming story of second chances at love. Not just any love, but an epic love of forgiveness, hope, faith and strength that will stay with you long after the Epilogue.
Zach and Presley’s story was simply beautiful…heartbreaking at times but what a special love story. Love all the secondary characters, can’t wait for the other brothers books!
Highly recommend
There are second chance loves stories but this is THE SECOND CHANCE LOVE STORY!
Damn you Corinne Michaels – I was crying at 2%…seriously crying! (Honestly – the tears began at the dedication!)
The circumstances that have led Presley to leave the home her boys have ever known and returned home to Tennessee made byheartbreakk. Returning was the last thing she ever thought she would do. But she has to. But this return would mean a new life for her boys and her. But returning also meant remembering. Remembering the life she had with Zachary and the life she never had with Zachary.
Zachary wanted the best for Presley. As high school sweethearts, their dreams were to grow old together. Circumstances didn’t allow that but it’s 17 years later and Presley is back. Zachary hasn’t given up on his dream and is determined to make Presley know that his dreams are still the same as they ever were.
This book brought some happiness into my life after the devastation it brought at first.
Corrine knows how to write a book that captures your heart and mind at the same time.
Thank you for this beautiful book of survival, love and growth. I can official add Zach to my life of book boyfriends that Corrine has made longer with every book she publishes!! Oh yeah and the other Harrington boys…feel free to send one my way!
I love all things Corinne so this had to be good. The story deals with a lot of hard dark subjects but a second chance at a love so powerful from a young age makes this story simply amazing. Presley & Zach grew up together and thought they would be together forever. Things change and now Presley is back where she never thought she would be. Can’t wait for more stories about the rest of the sexy cowboys in this book.
Well this story took me by surprise. I didn’t really have any expectations, the synopsis drew me in and that was all it took. I was pleasantly surprised by the characters and their personalities. The first couple of chapters captured me instantly with the seriousness of a topic most people know and will have an opinion of.
I was with Presley all the way. Felt and experienced what she was going through. It was heartbreaking. How she handled it was to be expected given the circumstances and she tried to be strong for her two boys. I loved the characters in this story. Especially her high school sweetheart Zachary, his brothers but also her brother Cooper, her good friends Angie and Grace. There was so much love and personality in each and every one of them. It was beautiful to experience Presley’s road back to life and love all thanks to the people she surrounded herself with.
Zachary made me swoon big time. I was enamored the first time Presley met Him again 17 years later. I could easily feel their attraction and the history they shared was sweet and memorable. I was rooting for them! Zachary’s brothers were amazing as well. I really enjoyed Wyatt’s close friendship with Presley and Trent’s brooding character and his somewhat relationship with Grace.
This was a fantastic second chance romance and I enjoyed it from start to finish. Corinne Michaels writing was flawless and captivating as ever. I’m so excited to read the other two Hennington brothers’ stories. They have definitely peaked my interest.
Loved this book
This was my second read of Say You’ll Stay, and that I was rereading already says a lot about the book.
Presley and Zach were the perfect childhood sweethearts. They were destined to be together (as the entire town of Bell Buckle, TN thought), but events separate them. Trying desperately to move on, Presley finds herself falling for her college roommate’s brother, Todd. They fall in love and have twin boys, but tragedy strikes, forcing Presley back to Bell Buckle, much to her dismay. Zach has returned, as well, and their chemistry is still off the charts. While Presley wants to recover and move back to the Philadelphia suburbs, Zach is hoping to win her heart back.
I have read almost all of Corinne Michaels’ books and have enjoyed them all. Her writing is pretty flawless, and she does a wonderful job of making me fall in love with her characters.
I’m not usually much for cowboys, but the Hennington boys may have just changed my mind! I highly recommend Say You’ll Stay!
Actual Rating 3.70
Oh how I wanted to fall in love with this second chance romance. I had a love/hate relationship with this it, but I overall ending up being ok.
The story for me was alright. It has some really great moments when Presley and Zach reconnect. It’s clear that Presley still loves Zach and is trying to hold on to her grudge against him. But the heart wants what it wants. I loved Zach so much because once he saw Presley again he made it clear that he wanted her back and never stopped loving her. I swooned so hard over him.
There is a bit of drama between them. Zach has a girlfriend at the beginning and she’s a piece of work. Also, while Presley is still mad at Zach for leaving her, we find out she’s been keeping secrets too. I feel her reasons for leaving him were not all that severe. I totally get where she’s coming from, but she was being extra. Also, she treated everyone poorly and used her grief as an excuse for her behavior. Not cool.
I do hope Wyatt and Trent’s book will be better.
Tissues. You will need a big box of tissues from page one of this book. I don’t think I even stopped needing one at any point.
Angie and Zack were not ready to be. It was not their time. When Angie and Zack find themselves near each other again, old feelings once hidden come forth and explode again. A book for your Summer, or any season for that matter, TBR list!
I’m on the fence between a 3 and a 4. My main problem was Presley. Oh good gravy there were some parts that she irritated the crap out of me. I was also trying to get through some parts that her and Zach just kept rehashing over and over again. But other than those two things, it was a story full of sadness, lie and hurt, with a side of 2 people needing to communicate more. It was a solid story, it just didn’t blow me away. I did really like all the side characters, can’t wait to read their stories.
Well, you did it again, Corrine Michaels. You sucked me into this story. You took my emotions and chewed them up, spit them out and then allowed them to heal. OK, so that might be a little more graphic than necessary but you see where I’m going here. When I saw the blub for this book, I was interested. I’ve been on a second chance kick lately. Not that I actively seek them out but it seems to be what grabs my attention when reading blurbs and searching for books. I have to be honest and say that although, I have loved everything by Corrine so far, I wasn’t really sure what to expect out of this one. So I made sure to go in completely blind. I stayed away from any early reviews for that reason and I’m so glad I did. I was given way more than I was expecting.
Presley and Zack are you typical small town high school sweethearts with big dreams. They were soulmates. When life gives one of them an opportunity they can’t pass up, it ends up breaking them apart. Both are forced to move on.
When an unexpected situation hits Presley, her life is thrown upside down. She loses her husband and is forced to move back to the small town that she grew up in with her twin boys. She’s done everything she can to avoid going back home because of all the memories it holds between her and Zack. Now that she’s back, she’s forced to face unresolved feeling not only for Zack but for her friends and family.
This story hits a lot of issues that people can relate to. I won’t say what it is because I want you to go into this blind but something that happens in this book is a major trigger for myself and something that I have had to deal with in real life. It’s ugly and confusing and overall heartbreaking. I re-lived every emotion along with the characters while this was happening. I was so emotional invested around this part.
I loved both Presley and Zack. You can tell that their love for each other had never really died. They had just learned to push it back and try to move on. Presley’s journey in this book is amazing. She is finally forced to really embrace who she is and learns just how strong she is. She’s been thrown a lot at her and she only comes out stronger. And then there’s Zack. Oh my sweet, swoon worthy Zack. I don’t typically fall for the sweet ones. I’m all kinds of messed up an like mine dark and twisted or extremely sarcastic. But every once in a while, one of the sweet ones sneaks up on me. I can only remember one other one, to be honest. But there’s just something about Zack that you just can’t ignore. He’s loving, loyal, patient and honest. The things he says to Presley literally melted my heart.
“Time has made you more magnificent than I remember. Whatever imperfections you see…I only see beauty.”
That right there is one of the most swoon worthy things I’ve heard in a long time.
I also really enjoyed the secondary characters. Everyone had their place and played a huge part of the story. Wyatt is hilarious and I feel like everyone needs someone like him in their lives. I can’t wait to read his story!
I really don’t know what else to say other than GO GET THIS BOOK! Well done, Corrine. You once again deliver a powerful story that just drawls you in from start to finish.
This book had me from the first chapter. You could feel the emotions through out the whole story which was beautifully written
