SawyerAn Alpha Firefighter and Curvy Single Mom Insta-Love RomanceEmilyMy son, Jake, would love to see his daddy again. But heaven doesn’t have visiting hours. Not even for fallen firefighters. When the Wylder Bluffs Fire Dept. offers Jake a ride in the firetruck on his first day of kindergarten, the gesture warms my heart. The man in uniform who knocks on my door ignites an entirely different … my door ignites an entirely different kind of flame. It’s something I haven’t felt in two years. I don’t want to be alone forever…but I fell in love with a hero once, and my heart was crushed.
I’m not sure I can do that again.
Sawyer
I lost my own father at a young age, so I’m first to volunteer to escort the young boy on his first day of school.
When I go to pick him up that morning, the woman who answers the door can’t possibly be the same woman I met at the funeral two years ago. Emily is chipper, bright, full of sunshine and life.
I volunteered because it’s the right thing to do.
Is it wrong if I also fall in love with her?
“Sawyer” is a short, happily-ever-after, STEAMY insta-love romance. No cliffhangers, no cheating! This is a standalone story part of the WYLDER BLUFFS FIRE DEPT. series.

This was an absolutely lovely story. Started off with a really sweet gesture from the fire dept. for Emily’s son. Jake is so cute. Great plot. When one door closes, another one will open. First time reading Tarin Lex. Won’t be the last.

Insta-heat & Insta-sweet! Sawyer is a fireman who meets Emily again 2 years after the death of her husband. I like this story because the characters are relatable, the plot is simple, there is a little tension that is resolved quickly and it makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside! This romance is a short & sweet look at a second chance at love.

This is a super fast read takes less than an hour but was still a great fun read that I thoroughly enjoyed
Emily Davis and her son are doing OK they lost their husband and father two years earlier after he had just transferred to the Wylder Bluffs Fire Department. Even though he worked in such a dangerous occupation it was actually a car accident that took him away from the. Now Jake is about to have his first day at preschool and the fire station has organised a fire truck to deliver him there. Sawyer is the captain of the local station and ws the first to volunteer after all he understands how Jake feels he lost his father when he was a similar age. What Sawyer didn’t expect is to be pole axed by the gorgeous woman who opened the door when he arrived. Can they start something together will the station turn on him for dating a fellow firefighters widow or can they build something beautiful together You will have to read to see
Emily Davis and her 5-year-old son, Jake, live in a two-bedroom Craftsman. Two years ago, her husband Alex died in a bad car accident. He had been a firefighter. So for Jake’s first day of kindergarten, he was being driven to school in a fire truck and is so excited! The Captain came to the door and told them to call him Sawyer. He had lost his own father when he was the same age as Jake. He was so good with the boy that Emily had tears in her eyes as the two climbed into the engine.
On the ride back to the station, Sawyer’s buddy teases him about falling for the sergeant’s wife. He would love to date her, but he doesn’t want to cause problems with the guys, so decides to not pursue her. But when he takes Jake’s stuffed tiger back to Emily, he invites her to the BBQ the guys are all having since she is still part of their family. She tells him she’s not big on social events but more of a wine drinker, he asks red or white, and they made a date for Saturday! Both of them seemed a bit surprised! The guys were going to really tease him about this.
Sawyer picked her up at 7. She loved that he was easy to talk to – and the quiet times in between were good too! He made an awesome dinner for them, then showed her around his home. He caught her as she tripped up the stairs, and they kissed and ended in the bedroom… or rather started there in earnest! He finally told her he was already falling in love with her. But she can’t bear the thought of losing someone I love again, so she merely says she knows and thanks him. What lover wants to hear that she still sometimes cries at night over her husband? Are both of them ready to move forward with a relationship? Or will the doubts about what others think, and whether it’s too soon, hold them back?
This was a wonderful story line touching on the difficulty in starting over when you’ve lost someone. The author did a great job exploring these lines with two great characters who deserve happiness. Grab your copy and see what they decide to do. Will indecision make them walk away?
A well written book with an interesting story line. The characters are strong and the story flows quickly and smoothly. I enjoyed reading this story.

This book is fast-paced with a fun story-line that has some drama and a whole lot of steamy and sexy hotness. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.

Let me start off by saying that I am a huge fan of Tarin Lex and recommend her work highly. However, with that said, this book didn’t catch me. The FMC was not relatable for me. She starts the book off in mourning and then ONE date later she’s in love with someone else and in his bed. Yes, instalove has its own rules, but this was just a bit hard to grasp because of the widow factor. Other than that this book was well written and the attention to detail and plot development was definitely there.
4.5 stars. This is a fast paced read about lost love and finding love again. Sawyer is the fire captain where Emily’s deceased husband worked. Emily has lost her husband. 2 years later she returns to the town she had moved to with her husband. Great story. The characters and the story are both relatable.
