I freaking loved Paine and Elsie!!!! I love this entire group of people we have encountered so far! Every last one of them!
Paine and Elsie were a total opposites attract. I vibed with this story so hard! Didn’t want to put it down. Jessica Gadziala has sucked me into this never ending always growing world and she refuses to let me out! But the ticker here is I don’t want to fucking leave! I’m obsessed!
Paine was absolutely delicious! Like I mean, he was fi-i-i-i-i-ne! One of them boys who stood out like a diamond in the rough. If you ever spent time in the hood and found yourself captivated by the light-skinned brother with the light eyes… you know. So Paine and his fine self used to run the Third Street Gang and when he got out, he started his own tattoo business. And he was successful. He had an amazing family, great friends (big up Breaker and Shooter), and a pretty great life.
Then Elsie comes through, running for her life, and what’s a man to do but stop to help a beautiful damsel in distress. Unfortunately, Elsie doesn’t see herself as a damsel. Her rich, white privilege has afforded her the luxury of thinking she’s above it all. She’s virtually untouchable. That is, until she’s touched and starts to realize that maybe she’s a damsel after all.
I liked learning about Paine’s past. I knew he was involved with the gang, but I didn’t know the levels of it and I didn’t understand how he got out. So now I know and I feel blessed about it. I’m really really hoping that his brother, Enzo, gets a book. I haven’t gone through all of the blurbs for JG’s books, so if he does have one, can someone let me know which one it is? I loved seeing Breaker and Shooter and their women in this book. I loved the brotherly love. I obviously loved Paine. Elsie… I could kinda take her or leave her. I think what’s really getting to me is the heaviness and outright shoved-down-my-throat intensity of the author’s push for feminism. It’s turning me off of her heroines. And I have a feeling that it’s only going to get worse when I get to Repo’s story.
Thankfully, the heroes and the overall plot of these stories are what keeps me going and keeps me loving the heck out of these books because I don’t intend on stopping!
Elise and Paine have an adventure together. Past meets present in this book and the future looks bright for them. Elise is strong smart woman that doesn’t stop even when something bad could happen. Paine shows her that he will be there for her but still let her be her. Great book!
Elsie wants to know what is going on in a seedier part of Navesink Bank, she has a specific reason for uncovering what is going on. She didn’t expect to be running from two men who are intent on capturing but finds herself protected by a man in a tattoo parlor.
Paine sees Elsie and is intrigued, he figures he will help keep her safe until she can safely go home and then he will be done. He isn’t done by a long shot though and wants to find out what secret Elsie is keeping. Paine had walked away from a life that would have shortened his life span only to start afresh, but Paine is still just as dangerous as he was and now that Elsie is by his side he will stop at nothing to keep her protected.
Great story, quite a bit different then I thought it would be. I liked Paine a lot, he is intense but at the same time a sweetheart when it comes to Elsie. Had a few twists and turns I was not expecting. Wonderful read.
Unlikely mismatch that’s truly perfect
The 3rd book in Savages and we get Paine’s story. Paine and Elsie seem like the most unlikely mismatch but are truly the perfect match for each other
An actual and real adult couple, he is amazing
5 Babygirl Stars
Savior is the third book in Jessica Gadziala’s series entitled ‘Savages’ which features Paine and Elsie.
“She was in. Under my skin. And I didn’t know what the fuck to do with that realization.”
This book rocked just like I thought it would. Elsie and Paine are opposites in every way. She is the rich Barbie girl, while Paine is the sexy, dark, tough, tattooed bad boy. They have great chemistry and I liked that there wasn’t unnecessary drama between them. They decided to be together and they stayed that way until the end. The story line flowed and that made me enjoy their journey even more.
“Never gets old.”
“Never will.”
Just loved this story, loved all the Savages books and Paine and Elsie’s story was my favorite.
Love me some twists in a story and this one had quite of few of them plus the bonus of some new arrogantly confident men to panty melt over (to go along with every other hero in Jessica’s series)
Tatoo artist Paine was defiantly the quieter of the 3 best friends in this series but none the less scary. We knew he had a past as head of a gang but not all the specifics. In Savior we finally get all of his story plus his family’s. His woman literally came barreling into his life running for her life from gang members.
The women in all of Jessica’s series may have had some crappy things happen to them or get themselves into some bad situations but none of them let their circumstances break them and that strong will and backbone is what each has needed to handle their men who walk that line of right and wrong. Elsie in no way seemed like a woman for Paine. She was raised with a big silver spoon in her mouth but never let that define the person she was or her judgment of others that didn’t come from that life. She had no idea the kind of trouble she’d attract by trying to find her missing sister which in turn had her landing in the arms of Paine who didn’t want to let her go once he had a taste of how that felt.
In every review I’ve written for this author I say the same thing – I love all her characters, how the characters over arc into all the series and how each book bewitches you. Keep on writing Jessica and I will be there for every book!
