From USA Today Bestselling author KL Donn comes an all new menage romance stepping into the world of magic and fantasy in a sexy fairytale retelling.Once upon a time… of Sleeping Beauty and how Princess Arianna of Graeline was conceived out of darkness and lies.
Born into a kingdom on the brink of disaster, she remains hidden away from the world as protection against a vengeful curse.
A love curse.
Malevolence has invaded the land of mystery, and the dark mage has decided it’s time to collect on her favor. The price…
The princess.
Until the king calls for a savior. Or two?
Asher “Apollo” McCall and Matthew “Ares” Norbury have worked countless missions together. Named after the Greek gods they resembled, they were considered the biggest and baddest until tragedy struck. Their team was slaughtered, and they were left for dead.
Neither man ever foresaw a life of peace, but gazing into the eyes of the young, defiant princess for the first time, they catch a glimpse of what could become their world.
How far will they go to make the enigmatic royal theirs?
Kidnapping.
Torture.
Imprisonment.
Can these two “princes” beat the odds, save the princess, and live happily ever after?
Or is Arianna destined to die, imprisoned by a curse out of control?

This is not a hearts and flowers kind of fairy tale…this is not for the faint of heart…this is dark and very sinister! If you love dark and erotic romance, this is definitely for you.
It begins with a curse, and then love’s first kiss sets the wheels in motion for an incredibly steamy, suspenseful and twisted tale. Mysterious disappearances, depraved men, mages, a badass princess and two heroes in a mystical land seemingly forgotten in time…intrigued? You should be!
I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie’s Book Reports.

Holy wow. You need to buckle up because I can guarantee you that Sleeping Beauty have never been told in this fashion in your wildest dreams. This is another amazing retelling from the Sinister Fairytales Collection and it is my favorite so far. I bet too you will not be betting on there being two men in this story. This too is my favorite kind of story. It is dark and gritty and everything you want in a dark retelling of a fairytale.
5 “Magical” Stars
I really enjoyed reading Imprisoned by KL Donn. While I have read other works by this Author, Imprisoned was different than anything I have read from her before. The story of Arianna, Ares and Apollo is a darker spin on the story of Sleeping Beauty. I was not sure what to expect when starting this journey but I really enjoyed all aspects from the town they lived in, the crossover elements to other books from this Author and the relationship between the MFM characters. Their chemistry was off the charts. This book had plenty of action, suspense and romance to make for an excellent read. Excited for the next book in this series.
I still love to read fairy tales, they are just a little dirtier now. When I heard that KL Donn was doing a dark romance version of Sleeping Beauty, I knew I would need this book asap! It was exactly what I hoped it would be. We finally get to know Apollo and Ares, two characters that have appeared in previous books, and meet the woman who will be their everything. Arianna is a real princess, burdened with staying safe at all costs. Her country, though small has magic and sorrow in abundance. Her people have suffered for years, losing young women and children who vanished without a trace. Arianna’s father knows it is time to bring in some help. When they arrive, everything changes and Arianna will never be the same. This was a joy to read. That sounds strange when it is a dark romance but Sleeping Beauty is one of my favorite fairy tales. The magical element combined with the real world horror of people being stolen sucks you in. Add in that this is a triad romance, which KL Donn is one of the best at, and I was hooked. Another fantastic read by this talented lady!
This amazing 5-star read doesn’t disappoint. KL stepped out from her usual and gives you a touch of the mystical. Just enough to make you wonder if it could be real. I loved Ares and Apollo in this story, but Ari was surprising. She was strong, independent but still needed her men to protect and love her. Ares and Apollo aren’t the typical let’s get in a relationship together, they are even surprised that they want to share. I was hooked from the first word throughout this book and can’t wait to read more from the world of Graeline. As a fan of Sleeping Beauty this was an gripping modern twist on it.
Imprisoned by K.L. Donn a fairy-tale of a five-star read. I love this author they always bring a great story to the yard, but this time she brought the whole world to the yard. The chemistry in this one is explosive and just so good, but its not just the chemistry that is amazing it’s the whole story, there are twists you won’t see coming and Ari, Ares and Apollo are just the icing on the cake. Do not miss this sinister fairy tale, as you will be disappointed.
I have been waiting for this one for so long, and man was it worth the wait. I wondered how KL was going to fantasy realm, but she knocked this one out of the park with mages and royals alike. But lets get to the meat and potatoes of it. Let’s talk about Apollo and Ares. These two alphas have been through hell and back and I’ve wanted to know how they would find their HEA, but never did I picture them finding their one in the same woman. The fact that KL addresses that as well just makes these characters that more relatable. Princess Arianna has won over the heart of her two GODS and literally goes through Hell to get to her Heaven. With the torture that each has to endure they definitely deserve the Loving Forever that they receive. I absolutely loved this one, definitely recommend you one click this one and this author!!
Sleeping Beauty…who? No there’s no diminutive, coy little girl in these pages. Arianna is feisty, impetuous, and young. This princess is all about action.
Imprisoned gives Disney princes with their Ken doll smiles the boot. Forget Prince Charming. Arianna gets two gods- Ares and Apollo. The god of Truth and the god of War. I am generally speaking not greedy girl but for these two I would definitely be willing to throw down.
Protectors to the core, all three of our main characters will learn just what it takes to be one. It doesn’t hurt that they can kick butt and save the day…with help of course!

This was definitely unexpected, but in the best of ways.
Imprisoned was all kinds of dark goodness. It’s smexy, sweet, funny and despite the darkness, had a huge dose of heart that kept me turning the pages to see what just what would happen next.
I loved Arianna, Ares and Apollo. Though Arianna is young and has been sheltered (understatement), she isn’t as naive as one would imagine, and much stronger than most know. I loved her determination and how generous her heart was. Ares and Apollo. These two. They are all kinds of protective Alpha AF goodness. They both have their demons, but despite how the the world ~ and even themselves ~ tends to view them, they have honor etched on their souls.
Their journey to their HEA was…unexpected. I know I’m repeating myself, but I expected some things, but not others, and I just really enjoyed it ~ even the dark parts. I loved how they connected and how well they simply flowed together despite how they were raised and all that they’d experienced. The chemistry was HAWT and even though I do prefer my menage to be a certain way, this one totally worked for me because of how strong the emotional connection was between them all.
As with most of the books in the Sinister Fairy Tales Collection, this is my first read by the author and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I was hooked from the start, loved the characters and the world building was on point. I really liked how she took the “Sleeping” part of the fairy tale and made it her own, as well as the punch of Paranormal into a contemporary world that gave it that magical feeling and making it work. And though we do get an HEA at the end, there are still a few things that are left open and I’m going to be keeping an eye out for the next book, because I’m definitely interested in seeing how that whole situation works out.

“ The only way Arianna isn’t coming home is if Ares and I are dead.”
This by far is one of the most intense and exciting books I’ve ever read from KL and oh boy was it ever fantastic! This book draws you in from page one and keeps you hooked until the end, and then some….I want the next book, NOW! This is a great start to her next series, and believe me when i say we won’t be disappointed.
The characters in this story are so life like, you can feel the anguish coming from the king and queen telling of their story as to how Arianna came to be, all the praying that they did to have her in their lives. These are two parents who truly worshipped their daughter and would do anything to keep her safe. As her 18th birthday approaches their guard is up even more so, but all that is to no good. The curse still plays out and Arianna is in immediate danger.
Apollo and Ares are requested by the king to keep the princess safe and they do so, but they also fall in love with her. Having neither of them ever think that they would find love let alone be worthy of love is an overwhelming feeeling for them but one they will cherish. They will protect Arianna at all costs. They will bring her home to her parents, her kingdom or die trying…
Catapulted into another world. Had to keep reading and wasn’t able to stop! Magic and torment and passion. Utterly heart wrenching. I am looking forward to the other books in this series but I feel a book hangover coming from this one!
Where is the golden button?!! You know the one? The one you want to press because giving five stars to a book that deserves so much more, just doesn’t seem enough!!
This book NEEDS it!! I have literally just finished this book and I am in awe of this author! Whatever she touches turns to magic, no pun intended!! Her words, the way she pulls you into her world is magical in its self. And then we meet Arianna, Apollo and Ares!
My heart! These guys can’t explain the pull to Graeline and Arianna but neither are going to deny it. The instant connection between the three is just beautiful.
Dark forces are determined to take what they want, Apollo and Ares will stop at nothing to ensure that doesn’t happen. But how can they tackle what they don’t understand?
This book! Honest to God!! This author rocks!! Like ROCKS!!!
I highly recommend that you add this to your TBR!
This was something different from this author. I so enjoyed the story and development between Arianna,Ares and Apollo. Love those names. It was great to see the cross over of other characters from other books. This is a bit dark and very interesting. A fairytale retelling with lots of action and suspense. Ari and her men have great chemistry, I wish there had been a bit more romantic interactions with those three. I don’t want to give much away, this is a step into the paranormal and oh so enjoyable.
After reading this book I had to take a little time to compose myself and get my thoughts clear in my head before I put them in a review.
Wow this book was amazingly written. Once I started I couldn’t put it down till I was finished. This book has twists and turns you don’t know what’s happening. will they all get there happily ever after or will it all go wrong. To find out what happens go buy the book. You won’t be disappointed I wasn’t.
I love Sleeping Beauty! Imprisoned is K.L. Donn’s retelling of Sleepy Beauty, and she did an amazing job! This is the first book in the collection that I have felt like needed to be done perfect or I would not like it at all! But Donn did not disappoint!
Arianna grew up in Graeline, it’s an island Kingdom between Ireland and Scotland. One day Arianna and her friend overhear her father talking and find out that girls are being stolen from the island. Asher and his best friend Matthew come to the island to find the human traffickers. Both Matthew and Asher are Arianna’s love interest. The attraction between these three was intense and hot.
Donn’s twisted take on Sleepy Beauty was fantastic, from the two heros to the dark mage’s curse Imprisoned was an amazing read.
K.L. Donn left me needing more. I went into Imprisoned without know the author or the fairytale she was retelling. However, I feel that this collection has been absolutely amazing and each other has managed to make each book better than the rest, so I may not have known what it was about I still have certain expectations as to what I expected.
The best part of collections like the Sinister Fairy Tales, I get the chance to read new to me authors that are writing some of my favorite stories… Fairy Tales. With Imprisoned, I got to see the story of a classic fairytale brought to life with a dark, modern twist while getting to see what K.L. Donn’s got… and boy did she blow me away.
Imprisoned is based loosely on the tale of Sleeping Beauty, and I have to say, it might be one of the more enjoyable twists on this tale that I have read or seen. She smoothly connected her already created world with the Sinister Fairy Tales, and in doing so has made me want to hunt down her original series and start from the beginning cause there are characters that I want to know more about!!
As a reader, I am big on characters. How they speak, how they act, how they connect with other characters, cause truly when you are reading a story you are getting to be apart of THEIR lives, so when I can really become immersed following them, I don’t care if the sky is purple (no such issue in this read) I want to KNOW WHAT HAPPENS! K.L. Donn didn’t let me down. Arianna, Ares (Matthew), and Apollo (Asher) each pick up where the other leaves off. All of the characters build on each other, and I was so caught up in the intensity of the electricity between them that before I knew it, the book was over!
I will say, the guys names (between their codenames and given names) were a little hard at first, but not enough to take away from the pleasure of this dark read. It makes me look forward to the remaining books of this collection. If you’ve been following along with the collection, this is one you DON’T want to miss!
Imprisoned is a fast paced version of the “untold” story or sinister retelling or take on Sleeping Beauty. However, here our story is a little darker and sinister, with a bit of a paranormal vibe.
Be ready to dive into a tale full of suspense, twists and turns as you read the story of Princess Arianna of Graeline, who was locked away as a means of protection for the cursed bestowed upon her from birth. Though she is a beautiful princess, she is not just a damsel in need of rescuing. She’s actually pretty tough and awesome and her chemistry with Apollo and Ares…Holy Crap is it ever smokin hot!!
Asher “Apollo” McCall and Matthew “Ares” Norbury are our hot alpha-heroes that set out to save the princess. They were tough and had never really imagined much of a future until they saw her and she had them re-evaluating everything.
Will they be able to save their princess or will the evil witch destroy the one they love?!
I’m absolutely loving the Sinister Fairytales Collections series, my friends. So I will say, this take on Sleeping Beauty is definitely a different take. TBH I am new to this author, and I’m not really a PNR fan however, I still managed to enjoy this book. It wasn’t all that lengthy and it kept me engaged and entertained. It had suspense, mystery, good character development, and the chemistry was hot. All in all I was a happy girl so I flew right through it.
*I voluntarily reviewed an advanced complimentary copy of this book!
– Overall this was a pretty good read! Imprisoned was another great addition to the Sinister Fairytales Collection.
– There was yummy chemistry between the three MC’s in this book, y’all! Yes, Yes, it was definitely steamy!
Cliffhanger Warning- HEA. No cliffy!!
* First time reading this author
I LOVE this story. A sleeping beauty story with a reverse harem twist… what more can you ask for? Imprisoned brings us to a country that is so small that nobody really knows anything about it. But people seem to be coming in and taking women and disappearing with them. So when the princess needs help and the king goes out to find it Apollo and Ares show up.
I would recommend this story to anyone that loves dark, fairytales, reverse harem, and a little bit of mystery. I hope you enjoy this story as much as I do!

Imprisoned is told from Ares, Apollo, Arianna, AND Callista’s POV so sometimes things got a little confusing. Although I liked the characters, I didn’t LOVE them. I just didn’t really connect with any of them.

I have to admit that I did have trouble staying interested in the beginning. It just seemed to drag on a bit. But things did eventually start to pick up. I think a lot of that was because I was a little confused as to if the story was contemporary or not, it IS contemporary but the Kingdom of Graeline is kind of behind the times so it made it a bit confusing at first. I wouldn’t really call this one a “dark” romance, but it does have some heavy dark trigger subjects.

Donn is a new to me author and from what I’m told some of the characters in Imprisoned were crossovers, I’m not familiar with her work so I’m not sure which ones but I felt like I was definitely missing some side stories.
All in all, Imprisoned was a decent read but there was just that SOMETHING that was missing. Lock by Kimberly Knight is next up in the Sinister Fairy Tale Collection and I’m excited to see what’s in store.

Imprisoned is the next book in The Sinister Fairytales Collection. It is my first time reading this author and once I got into the story, I was hooked. Imprisoned is a darker retelling of Sleeping Beauty with a twist.
Arianna is our heroine and princess of the island, Graeline. She doesn’t actually sleep, it’s more like the magic she holds is suppressed. With her eighteenth birthday on the horizon, the castle is on chaos.
Apollo and Ares are called upon from the King to help fight some evil in this kingdom. Needless to say, he didn’t realize that these two men maybe what helped save the princess.
The plot has several twists and turns I didn’t see coming. This story isn’t necessarily dark, just has some darker themes. If you don’t mind make believe, insta love and magic, you will enjoy this fairytale with a princess and her two princes.
