Imprisoned by KL Donn is part of Sinister Fairy Tales series. This is Princess Arianna of Graeline, Asher (Apollo) McCall and Matthew (Ares) Norbury’s story. It’s a dark, modern twisted retelling of Sleeping Beauty. I enjoyed every moment of reading this twisted romance. Without giving anything away, let me say that Ms. Donn did a great job with writing a retelling and adding a twist to a story. 18 years old Arianna thinks maybe she will one day soon get her Prince Charming…no, what she ends up with is Ares and Apollo.
If you think this is based in the past, nope it’s present day and get ready for the heat, drama, angst, twists, turns, intrigue, raw emotions, paranormal/greek mythology elements, danger, action, and romance…this is truly an amazing experience. I cannot wait to see what more is going to happen in this storyline going forward by author K.L. Donn.
My Rating: 4.5 stars *********
Imprisoned (Sinister Fairy Tales series) by K.L.Donn is a bizarre tale of Ariana Princess of Graeline. She has been living under a curse. On her 18 birthday she will find love as well as hell. This story is a very sinister twist on Maleficent. Instead of falling asleep by a prick by a needle Ariana finds herself in something more deadlier than an everlasting sleep. Her kingdom is experiencing the disappearance of young ladies. When her father enlist the the help of Asher aka Apollo and Matthew aka Ares to help with the girl’s disappearance it is the beginning of the curse. The attraction between the princess and the gods is instantaneous. It is also her 18th birthday. What her curse turns out to be is being captured by the very people who have kidnapped the other girls in the village. Now she finds herself chained to a wall, tortured and beaten. Her only hope is her gods. This story had quite a bit going on. Yes there was the supernatural, the human torture, 2men and 1 girl, BDSM and depravity to the utmost. I liked this story. The premise was rather interesting in a sick and twisted way. The ending was a tad confusing with the supernatural element. I was also left with unanswered questions but the relationship between Ariana, Apollo and Ares was everything. I give this story 3.5 stars.
Imprisoned by KL Donn is part of the Sinister Fairy Tales Series. This is the story of Princess Arianna of Graeline, Asher “Apollo” McCall and Matthew “Ares” Norbury. This is a dark retelling of Sleeping Beauty but with some twists. Apollo and Ares are special ops who have been called by the King to help with some missing young women along with helping Arianna. We learn that Arianna has a cruse on her. Apollo and Ares feels a connection to her and she to them. But danger is there that they have to fight along with keeping track of Arianna. I am a huge fan of this author, so this was a must read for me. Exiting read.
Wow! Overall I really enjoyed the story, getting to go deeper into Asher (Apollo) and Matthew (Ares). They are great friends that have been through so many things together, now this… meeting Arianna, the Princess, has them going where they never expected. The story kept me on my toes, gripping my seat and trying to keep a tear or two away. It’s dark, some moments that pushed me a bit outside my comfort zone. I am looking forward to the next step and what’s to come for others in the book that I was drawn to. A must read!
Imprisoned by KL Donn was a very interesting and twisted retelling of fairytale you loved. The princess is cursed alright. But no knight in shining armour will save her. This is a fantasy themed MMF romance that really intrigued me.
I will say this story is a mix of Sleeping Beauty and Maleficent. Princess Arianna of Graelin has been cursed by dark magic that she will find and lose love on her eighteenth birthday. She has immense power that can create and ruin. As she gets older, more and more unfortunate events start plaguing Graelin including disappearances of hundreds of girls. Ares and Apollo are asked to help to solve the mystery. These men have seen death and destruction too much and they are practically fearless and ruthless. But as soon as they meet Ari, they feel this mystical bond. And when she is abducted by the evil people and tortured , they will do anything to protect her.
Chemistry between Ares, Apollo and Arianna is lifeline of this story. It’s fierce and soul deep. The plot twits will keep you engaged. The emotions are complicated, raw and deviant. The fantasy or magical element added to the beauty of this srory. Over all, Imprisoned by KL Donn was a well written dark romance.

I just loved this book from KL Donn! What starts off very reminiscent of your average fairy tale turns into so much more when the princess’s Prince Charming(s) show up. Matthew Norbury aka Ares and Asher McCall aka Apollo arrive in Graeline to help find the missing girls and shut down a possible human trafficking ring, what they dont expect is the pull they both feel towards the princess and how ok they are with the idea of sharing one woman. These 3 will go through absolute torture to make it through to the other side together and stronger than when they started.
This book was amazing! The retelling of Sleeping Beauty in a dark, sinister way.
I loved both Ares and Apollo. It was clear they would do anything for Arianna. Their true alpha male form was present throughout the book, which was HOT!
Arianna is a very strong women despite her upbringing. She is determined and kind hearted. She knows that her 2 warriors will do anything to save her.
Twists and turns happen throughout the book but the relationship between Arianna, Ares and Apollo was everything.
For not being a fan of a supernatural book, I really did enjoy this read.

I love this dirty and dark retelling of Sleeping Beauty! This author has a gift even though fantasy is not her normal genre she nailed it! She hits the ground running and the first few chapters have twists and turns and them and oh my goodness moments. Arianna has true loves kiss in a most interesting way. Ares and Apollo are named after gods and that’s not the only God like qualities they possess. The three of them have this undeniable chemistry between them. There is something for everyone in this book-human trafficking, magic, love and a ménage relationship. What’s not to love? IMO One of the better stories in the Sinister Fairy Tales collection!
Oh my gosh! I couldn’t stop reading this. It’s a new genre by KL Donn and boy, did she hit it out of the park. There’s magic and mystery and suspense and darkness and I would go from smiling, to crying, to cringing, to being aroused. She broke me and put me back together again. This is Sleeping Beauty like you’ve never seen before and to be honest, I prefer this one. Who doesn’t want two princes to save them instead of one? I loved getting to know Apollo and Ares and seeing them in a different element but in what they normally do as well. It’s spellbinding and I couldn’t get enough. I need more of them!
It was time fo Sleeping Beauty story, one my favorites. Arianne and Ares where amazing characters as well as Apollo and Callista, the darkness behind this story was interesting. It was intense and a good amount of angst. If you love story retelling read them all.

This is the first book that I’ve read from this author. While I own a few, I haven’t been able to read them.
While reading I found out that this book shares the universe with another series of hers. I don’t know if that universe shares a ‘supernatural’ aspect or it’s just for this book. I don’t know if this should’ve been attached even a little bit, to another series, but I understand the reasoning as to why.
It took a bit for the book and the writing style to actually sink in for me, the rhythm of the story is a bit like choppy waves so it’s was a bit unsteady.
This book is based in present day, I honestly wasn’t expecting that for some reason and I got completely confused, and also with the ‘supernatural’ twist.
But after 20% into the book, I Was able to understand the story a bit more due to some explanations, and I found this book to be slightly reminiscent of a well known fairytale.
This book feels a bit like a collage, almost as if 3 different ideas were mashed into one.
The guys nicknames threw me for a loop, cause it felt like the nicknames just didn’t fit the book, even though there is an explanation as to why.
Arianna was a bit petulant and a bit overdramatic, I kinda understand why, but I don’t see them as attractive qualities for her.
Looking back Callista to me had dominated the story, and did kinda overshadow Arianna a bit.
I am kinda left with a bit of a whiplash and a bit confuzzled to be honest.
A twisted fairy tale with strong characters and darkness abounds in this unique re-telling of sleeping beauty. This is not your child’s fairy tale this one was written for the strong and the brave. I loved the way the author broke down the boundaries of the traditional story and built up such a unique and wonderful world. This is a story that must be experiences, don’t read the spoiler review, jump in blind and enjoy the journey.
The world building was amazing and I felt the emotions of every character. The way the author managed to entrap me in the story just goes to prove how wonderful she can write. This is my favorite story from her by far. Its dark and delicious and that HEA is brilliant. A must read for those who love darkness and bold worlds. I received an ARC and am leaving an honest review.
