Cameron Turner is cursed. He’s lost almost everyone he’s ever loved, and he knows better than to try again. If the universe intends for him to be alone, then that’s exactly what he’ll do, keeping to himself in his quiet Kings Grove cabin. Harper Lyles was born in the tiny mountain town of Kings Grove, and she never planned to go back. But when her life is turned upside down and she has no choice, … no choice, she vows to make the best of it. For six short months at least, and then she’s on to bigger and better things.
When Cameron rents the empty house next door to Harper, both their plans begin to change. Harper’s energy and tenacious happiness make Cameron wonder if he was really meant to be alone. And Cameron’s dark brooding appeal has Harper wondering if maybe Kings Grove isn’t so bad after all.
The fourth book in the Kings Grove series is a tale of redemption and hope, featuring edge-of-your-seat suspense, Stewart’s trademark humor, and…puppies.

Cameron believes the universe is against him when it comes to love and he is destined to be alone the rest of his life. Harper has lost her job but is trying to keep a positive outlook on life. Cameron and Harper are both dealing with their own emotional issues but can they find their way to HEA? This is the first book I’ve read in this series and by this author and now I want to go back and read previous books in the series. A well written story that is sure to pull you in and have you turning the pages late in to the night.

A heart warming story of a guilt ridden man and a woman who has lost her job but not her optimistic outlook on life. Throw in an injured mother dog and s litter of new pups and you have the basis of a great story. Lots of drama and emotional issues on the way to the HEA but we get there.
After Cameron’s wife died two years ago, he gave up his LA life and came back to Kings Grove, where he works in construction. He’s still having a tough go of it, and pretty much keeps everyone out. Harper trusted the wrong person, and got dragged down in someone else’s legal issues. Her lawyer fixed everything, but she’s broke now. Her estranged father twists her arm to come back to Kings Grove and get to know him, and save some money for her planned business venture in Austin. There’s some interest between them, but she’s just there for six months, and he’s got a (self-perceived) curse hanging over his head. Thank goodness for meddling friends and family! This is super book, a beautiful story, really easy reading. The story grabbed me from the first page – the characters have amazing chemistry and much great banter. I loved seeing Harper’s relationship with her long-estranged father take root.

The storyline was well written, the plot flowed smoothly from page to page and the characters were written with such great detail and depth that I was totally engaged as each and every page was turned!
Life has a way of punching us when we’re down. And so it is with Cameron. Fear reigns. Guilt reigns. He’s afraid of losing those close to him, those he loves. His wife died so the enemy within took advantage of a lonely, grieving man.
Now we have Harper. Knowing her own losses, is forced to battle her own demons. Thinking she’d never go ‘home’ again, she does. But sometimes, the things we think are temporary are really permanent…. and so it is with Harper, she just doesn’t know it yet.
You’ll love this story if you like:
Meddling family and friends
Redemption
Suspense but also a few laughs
Watching people overcome trials and tribulations… and how they do it
The list could go on. But the struggles and victories are real. if you enjoy a storyline that is heartfelt and characters facing true to life issues, then don’t pass up this book. You never know when you’ll be hit with life’s struggles. Remembering how Cameron and Harper battled and overcame their demons just possibly could help you be an overcomer too when it’s needed most.
Oh yeah, and if wedding bells start to ring, make sure you choose a ring bearer who will deliver
A fantastic heartfelt story about Cameron a young man plagued with guilt and fear of losing everyone he holds dear, following the death of his wife, and Harper a young woman trying to make a new life for herself following a breakup and being let go from her job. The two have an instant attraction to each other, but Cam pushes Harper away time and time again until he can’t anymore. Full of meddling family and friends, fear, heartache, loss, a dangerous mountain lion, passion, and love. Readers will fall in love with the characters and the small town feel in this new book from D.L. Stewart Saving the Mountain Man. Readers will laugh and cheer for Cam and Harper. I loved reading this book and can’t wait for the next book in the series.

Harper has come to Kings Grove to help Cameron’s sister. Cameron is still grieving his deceased wife and struggling to move on. A sweet story of moving on, forgiveness, letting love back in, and being where you really want to be.

What a sweet romance that covers loss, grief, and starting over in multiple ways. This being the 3rd book in the Kings Grove romance series, you most certainly don’t have to have read any of the other books to be swept away by Cameron and Harper’s story. (But I highly recommend reading the others!)
~ I was given this book ahead of time and made no commitments to leave my opinions, favorable or otherwise~
A G-rated Romance were everyone keeps their clothes on and stays out of bedrooms.
This is Book 3 of the Kings Grove Series and features Harper, the daughter who her dad forced her to come back to Kings Grove and live and work for six months in exchange for his financial assistance. And, Cameron, a former Hollywood Producer now back home as he continues grieving the death of his wife three years ago. He earns a living as a construction worker and by renting out his main house while he lives nearby in a small cabin/guest house. His newest tenet? Harper!
They are attracted to each other but he resists as he feels guilty about feeling anything. Harper is conflicted because she wants nothing to distract her from her goal of going into business in Austin, TX. but, she’s also lonely and craves noise, companionship, something. After all, she came from NYC.
Harper has taken a job at the nearby Lodge as the events manager and is planning Cameron’s sister’s wedding. Cameron as discovered an injured animal and is feeding it not knowing what it is until it shows up on his porch and it’s a very pregnant dog with a gashed leg. By morning their are five puppies to care for as well.
This is another event that bring Harper and Cameron together and force both of them to look at their beliefs and futures. Both change their outlooks resulting in their HEA that includes Matilda (name they gave the mom dog) and her pups.
I really like this story. The antagonist was a mountain lion who caused all sorts of angst and threatening gestures. Well done!
Definitely recommending this book for your reading enjoyment and pleasure.
Peace.
